New Technique on the Improvement of Earthquake-Resistant Performance for the Retrofitting of Existing Reinforced Concrete Beam-Column Joints (철근콘크리트 보-기둥 접합부의 내진성능 개선 보강 신기술)

  • In this study, experimental research was carried out to improve earthquake-resistant performance for the retrofitting of reinforced concrete beam-column joints using carbon fiber materials in existing reinforced concrete building. Six reinforced concrete beam-column joints were constructed and tested to evaluate the retrofitting effect of test variables, such as the retrofitting materials and retrofitting region(plastic hinge, beam-column joint) under load reversals. Test results show that retrofitting specimen(RPC-CP2, RPC-CR, RJC-CP, RJC-CR), using new materials(carbon fiber plate, carbon fiber rod and carbon fiber sheet), designed by the improvement of earthquake-resistant performance and ductility, attained more load-carrying capacity and stable hysteretic behavior.

  • 본 연구에서는 실내 수리실험을 통하여 하천에 설치된 계단형 보의 원류 흐름 특성에 따른 공기유입 효과를 산소전달 효율과 관련지어 분석함으로써, 하천의 수질 개선 효과를 검토하였다. 계단형 보 월류 흐름시 발생되는 낙하류 및 표면류에 대한 흐름의 특성을 연구하고, 공기유입의 과정을 분석하였으며, 이에 따른 산소전달 및 수질 개선효과를 분석함으로써 수질 개선에 효율적인 계단형 보의 형태를 제시하였다.

An Experimental Study on Simple Tension Connections for Square CFT Column to Beam Using Internal Plate with Holes (내부유공판을 사용한 각형 CFT 기둥-보 단순인장 접합부의 실험적 연구)

  • As the height of buildings rises, new structural systems are being applied other than theexisting S, RC, and SRC to decrease the weight of buildings and to make their construction more efficient, CFT structureshad been applied in many building construction projects due to their superior structural performance and construction efficiency. CFT structures need a diaphragm to harmoniously transmit the beam flange load to the column and the opponent beam in connections. Especially, on the right and left sides of the column other beams are connected, The establishment of a diaphragm for the lower part flange load delivery of the beam and guarantee for concrete filing capacity difficulty have (What does this mean?). In this paper, connection details are proposed in the form of a welded vertical plate with a circular hole on the CFT column's interior to harmoniously transmit the lower-part beam flange load to the column and the opponent beam. Thesediaphragm details use the concrete anchor effect in the beam flange load delivery, with the concrete-filled CFT column interior piercing the hole of the perforated plate, and a perforated board is established vertically to improve the concrete filling capacity. To analyze the structural performance of the proposed connection details, five simple tension specimens were made with the following parameters: with our without vertical and horizontal perforated plates, shear hole number, concrete filled or not, thickness of the perforated plate, etc. Then experimental tests were performed on these specimens.

Research Trends in Steel Composite Beam Structures (최근 강구조 합성보의 연구현황 분석)

  • 기존에 연구 및 개발된 합성보 시스템에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고 앞으로 새로이 진행될 합성 구조 연구에 대한 방향을 제시하고자 국내 외 200여 편의 논문 및 학술기사를 기반으로 합성보에 대한 연구 및 기술 현황분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 합성보에 대한 국내연구는 주로 실험적 연구가 63%로 해석적 연구(22%)에 비해 3배가량 높은 비율을 차지하고 있었으며, 국외의 경우 해석적 연구가 58%로 가장 높은 비중을 차지해 국내 연구방법과는 대조적인 모습을 나타냈다. 이에 앞으로는 지금까지 실시한 실험적 연구 내용을 토대로 보다 효율적인 연구 성과를 얻기 위해 해석적 연구의 기틀을 마련하는 것이 필요해 보였다. 또한 합성보 연구의 주제별 분류에 있어서도 기본적인 휨내력 평가뿐만 아니라 최근 들어, 관심이 높아진 사용자의 실제적인 생활 및 안전과 연관 있는 바닥진동, 충격음, 그리고 내화성능 등에 대한 다양한 검토가 깊이 있게 이루어져야 할 것이다. 마지막으로 기존의 구조용 재료를 대체하면서 경제적이고, 친환경성 및 재활용 재사용성 등을 고려한 미래지향적 합성구조시스템에 대한 연구 개발이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

An Experimental Study on the Stirrup Effectiveness in Reinforced Concrete Beams (철근콘크리트보의 스터럽 효과에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The main objective of this study is to investigate the behavior of NSC and HSC beams with stirrups. Main variables were the concrete compressive strength and amount of vertical stirrups. A total of 24 beams was tested; 4 beams without web reinforcement and 20 beams with web reinforcement in the form of vertical stirrups. Main variables were 2 different compressive strengths of concrete of 26.9MPa and 63.5MPa, 5 different spacing of stirrups of 200, 150, 120, 100 and 90mm. Therefore, the results were compared with the strengths predicted by the equations of ACI code 318-99 and other researchers. The shear reinforcement ratio, where the test beams were failed simultaneously under flexure and shear, were $0.63{\rho}_{vmax}$ for NSC beams and $0.53{\rho}_{vmax}$ for HSC beams, respectively. The ACI code equation was found to be very conservative for shear design.

  • A stud connector was used by the shear connector of a composite beam. The shear connector is an important element in heightening the composition rate of a composite beam .study was based on the experiments conducted on 15 specimens using the push-out test.In this paper, through an experiment, the shear connector of other forms was analyzed instead of the stud connector. It is hoped that this application can be used in composite beams.

Effect of Aspect Ratio and Diagonal Reinforcement on Shear Performance of Concrete Coupling Beams Reinforced with High-Strength Steel Bars (세장비 및 대각철근 유무에 따른 고강도 철근보강 콘크리트 연결보의 전단성능)

  • As per current seismic design codes, diagonally reinforced coupling beams are restricted to coupling beams having aspect ratio below 4. However, a grouped diagonally reinforcement detail makes distribution of steel bars in the beam much harder, furthermore it may result in poor construction quality. This paper describes the experimental results of concrete coupling beam reinforced with high-strength steel bars (SD500 & SD600 grades). In order to improve workability for fabricating coupling beams, a headed large diameter steel bar was used in this study. Two full-scale coupling beams were fabricated and tested with variables of reinforcement details and aspect ratio. To reflect real behavior characteristic of the beam coupling shear walls, a rigid steel frame system with linked joints was set on the reaction floor. As a test result, it was noted that cracking and yielding of reinforcement were initially progressed at the coupling beam-to-shear wall joint, and were progressed to the mid-span of the coupling beam, based on the steel strain and failure modes. It was found that the coupling beams have sufficient deformation capacity for drift ratio of shear wall corresponding to the design displacement in FEMA 450-1. In this study, the headed horizontal steel bar was also efficient for coupling beams to exhibit shear performance required by seismic design codes. For detailed design for coupling beam reinforced with high-strength steel, however, research about the effect of variable aspect ratios on the structural behavior of coupling beam is suggested.

  • 과거 50 년 동안 국내 보 설치 수는 매년 증가하여 왔으나, 그 증가비율은 근래 들어 감소하는 추세로, 이는 보 보다는 용수공급능력이 큰 양수장, 저수지 등 타 시설물에 의존하는 것으로 판단 할 수 있다. 더욱이 인구의 도시 집중화에 따른 농경지의 도시화, 경작 방식의 변화에 의한 비닐하우스 단지로의 변화, 시설의 노후화 등으로 매년 $50{\sim}150$개 정도의 보가 폐기되고 있다. 그러나 이렇게 폐기되는 보는 하천에 그대로 존치되어 하천생태통로의 단절, 수질악화, 수변 서식처 악화 등의 문제를 지속적으로 야기 시키고 있다. 실험은 문산천 검전보, 안양천 안양대교보, 기철거된 경안천 무명보에서 자연시료를 채취하여 실행 하였다. 문산천 검전보는 하천환경이 안정되고 양호한 대조구간으로 선정하였다. 안양 대교보는 도심화로 인하여 원기능을 상실하였으며 수차례에 걸친 개수가 이루어졌고 수년전까지만 해도 러브보로 인한 수질정화장치가 있었으나 효능이 약화되어 철거할 계획을 가지고 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 경안천 무명보는 현재는 완전 철거된 상태이다. 경안천 무명보는 기 철거된 보의 대조구간으 로 선정하였다. 보 상류의 수질 오염도가 높은 것은 정체구역에 의한 용존산소 부족과 오염저니에 의한 것으로 판단되므로, 각각의 대상보의 퇴적물 오염도를 조사하였다. 각각의 조사 지점은 검전보의 경우, 만장교를 최상류 지점으로, 검전보 상/하류, 광탄교를 최하류 지점으로 선정하여, 총 4 지점에서 채취했으며, 안양대교보의 경우 최상류지점, 보 상/하류 지점으로 총 3지점, 무명보의 경우 보 상/하류로 총 2 지점에서 채취했으며, 실험은 $\ulcorner$Soil Method$\lrcorner$에 준하여, 각각 입도분포, 함수율, 강열감량, COD, T-N, T-P 등을 시행하였다. 문산천 검전보 퇴적물 오염도 조사 결과, 강열감량, COD, T-N, T-P 항목에서 보 상류가 보 하류에 비해 높게 나타났으며, 각각 하류에 비해 상류가 30.76%, 16.69%, 73.13%, 18.91% 더 높게 나타났다. 안양대교보 퇴적물 조사 결과, 검전보와 마찬가지로, 강열감량, COD, T-N, T-P 항목에서 보 상류가 보 하류에 비해 33.33%, 9.23%, 24.78%, 18.56% 높게 나타났다. 기 철거된 무명보의 경우, 무명보 상류, 무명보 하류 2개 지점을 채취하였으며, 강열감량, COD, T-N 항목에서 보 상류가 보 하류에 비해 18.75%, 412.6%, 25.75% 높게 나타났다. 퇴적물 조사 결과, 강열감량, COD, T-N 항목에서 검전보, 안양대교보, 무명보 모두 보 상류의 오염도가 높게 나타났으며, 무명보를 제외한 검전보, 안양대교보는 T-P 항목에서도 보 상류의 오염도가 높게 나타나, 보 상류의 퇴적물 오염농도가 심화된 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 기철거된 무명보의 경우, 강열감량, COD, T-N, 항목에서 보 상류가 높게 나타났으나, 철거되지 않은 검전보나 안양대교보에 비해 그 차이가 크지 않은 것으로 나타났다.

Flexural Behavior of RC Beam Repaired with Polymer Mortar (폴리머 모르타르로 보수된 철근콘크리트 보의 휨 거동)

  • The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the flexural performance of reinforced concrete (RC) beams repaired with polymer mortar. The repaired and non-repaired 13th beams which was fabricated by considering repair position, repair depth, and curing age of polymer mortar as test variables were tested under three point loading. All specimens repaired in compressive and tensile zone did not fail due to interfacial failure between polymer mortar and concrete but failed when the strain of repaired mortar exceeded the ultimate tensile strain of polymer mortar. Maximum load of specimens repaired in compressive zone was similar to that of non-repaired specimen, reference specimen. Additionally, their ductility index was higher than that of reference specimen. On the other hand, specimens repaired in tensile zone failed very brittlely and have a lower ductility index than reference specimen. Nonlinear analysis by using OpenSees was performed to predict the behavior of RC beam repaired with polymer mortar. Two dimension frame element was used to simplify an analysis model and fiber model was applied to consider the material non-linearity. It was confirmed from the analysis results that nonlinear analysis properly predicts the behavior of specimens repaired in compressive zone and overestimates the behavior of specimens repaired in tensile zone.

Effect of Reinforcement Layout on Structural Performance of Reinforced Concrete Coupling Beams with High-strength Steel Bar (철근상세에 따른 고강도 철근이 사용된 철근콘크리트 연결보의 구조성능)

  • This paper describes the experimental results for the structural performance of full-scale coupling beams with different reinforcement layout (diagonal and horizontal). For the reinforcements of the coupling beams, high-strength steel bars(SD500 and SD600) were used in order to improve workability and economic feasibility. The rigid steel frames and linked joints were used to maintain the clear span length (distance between both shear walls) of the coupling beam during the cyclic loading. Experimental results indicated that the diagonally reinforced coupling beam specimen could exhibit more ductile behavior compared to horizontally reinforced specimen. ACI318-14 code is applicable to design of coupling beam with diagonally reinforcement, however, that is overestimating the strength of horizontally reinforced coupling beam. It is remarkable that effective elastic stiffness values of both reinforcement details coupling beam significantly lees than ASCE 41-13.
