Over the past four decades reproductive behavior has changed rapidly in much of the developing countries. The average total fertility rate has fallen by half from six or more to near three today. Between 1960 and 2000 the largest fertility decline occurred in Asia and Latin America. The mortality rate has also decreased in most developing countries. The purpose of this study is to review the pattern and characteristic of demographic transition in developing countries. At first, this study focuses on the regional fertility and mortality transition. Africa, the total fertility rate is still high, can be match to the second stage of demographic transition. Similar case is found in Southern West Asia areas. However, the fertility rate has therd stage of demographic transition. The same pattern is found in Latin America. The mortality rate has also decreased in most of developing countries. It is interesting to find that there is a clear difference among developing countries. In terms of crude death rate, Latin American countries show the lowest rate. while African countries remain still high rate. About mortality, African countries show a high level in terms of both crude death rate and infant mortality rate. African countries also show the lowest level of life expectancy in the world. One of the reasons for low level of life expectancy in Africa is the widespread of AIDS in this areas. This study suggests that we should include 'AIDS' in the study of mortality in African countries.

The purpose of this paper is to provide an innovation strategy for a leading industrial company. We analyze the process of a shift in industrial leadership using the shipbuilding industry as a case study. This paper explains that the three core factors of decline are immobilization, lack of innovation for major products, and organizational inertia. This study presents that the leader of a market is not decided by strong competitiveness, but by quick reaction to major customers' needs, and that out-of-date strategies do not contribute to maintaining leadership. As a result of this study, it shows that the leading Korean industrial companies shall establish a new innovation-oriented and customer-oriented management system that is flexible enough to anticipate and respond to the changes in new competitive environments. These findings contribute to the formulation of new strategies for other manufacturing industries in Korea.

LCSH is now used as a major subject access tool in library catalogs and national bibliographies. Internationally, LCSH has also gained wide acceptance. Over the years, many libraries in other countries have adopted or adapted LCSH. The purpose of this study is to analyze the historical process and characteristics of subject headings related to Korea in the LCSH, from the first edition to 30th ed. The analytic results show that the section of Korean history and related subject headings are different from the terms used in Korean academic world : Some subject headings considered important and essential are left out. We can also recognize the some headings are relatively too subdivided. The omitted and insufficient Korean subject headings are considered to be tied up with library policies of LC. Therefore our active support such as donation are being called for collecting more detailed analysis of Korea-related publications in LC.

This paper critically examines the evolution of Nam June Paik's self-contradictory art philosophy. While the existing literature tends to slight it, Paik's works of arts remain fraught with contradictions: Paik has proved prima facie avant-garde an artist; however, as the scale and form of his works have developed, the prophetic, path-breaking philosophical underpinnings of his arts evolved to become more conformist. The present paper aims to shed light on the understudied and underappreciated side of Paik's accomplishments in order to come to a fuller understanding and appreciation of his arts and his legacy.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the historical process and characteristics of subject headings related to Korea, China, Japan in the LCSH, from the first edition to 31th ed. The analytic results show that the headings in the 31th edition include in Korea 713, China 1,742, Japan 2,647, compared to Korea headings 4, China headings 49, Japan headings 24 in the first edition. Some subject headings considered important and essential are left out. We can also recognize the some headings are relatively too subdivided. Modernism is understood as a process of differentiation. Postmodernism or postmodernity, by contrast, involves de-differentiation. Recently, most museums have many social function, a central defining feature is its 'inscapes', or the spaces, architecture, material objects, texts, and meanings of exhibitions. Aims of this paper is to examine the processes and characteristics of differentiation and de-differentiation of the korean museums in historical development. The processes of differentiation and de-differentiation of the korean museums are divided into three phases: a establish stage of modem museum(l945$\sim$1974), a establish stage of postmodern museum(1975$\sim$1989), a diffusion stage of postmodern museum(1990$\sim$2003).

The aim of this study is to analyze the transition of the building of Daegu City Library during the Japanese Colonial Period. To do this, the articles of newspaper and periodicals, books, official documents, official gazettes, statistics, publications of official history of Daegu City Library and research papers were widely collected and cross-checked with each others. As the result of this study, the precedent researches and official history publications related to Daegu City Library had some important errors including the date of the municipal ordinance for Daegu City Library, the first building of Daegu City Library and the date of the breaking-ground, completion and opening for the new building. It is assumed that these errors were generated from the shortage of bibliographic information and full-text databases at those time. At the end of this study, additional research about the history of Daegu City libraries during the Japanese Colonial Period were suggested.

In 1713, J. Bernoulli first discovered the method which one can produce those formulae for the sum $\sum\limits_{\iota=1}^{n}\;\iota^k$ for any natural numbers k ([5],[6]). In this paper, we investigate for the historical background and motivation of the sums of powers of consecutive integers due to J. Bernoulli. Finally, we introduce and discuss for the subjects which are studying related to these areas in the recent.

This paper studied the process of changes of the heading which is access point of the catalog in the cataloging Rules. The first described change of the concept of heading, and described change of headings in the Korean Cataloging Rules and Anglo-American Cataloging Rules And then described heading; in the online environment and future of cataloging rules. The concept of the main entry has lost any meaningful purpose in today's online catalog environment despite a multiplicity of definition. To bring cataloging rules up-to-date, Headings of KCR, AhCR2 Chapter 21, the MARC format and KORMARC format need to be revised The revision of this cataloging rules should be based on Hypertext and Hypermedia. A Continued empirical research would be most welcome, and should be incorporated into future cataloging rules.

With the question, "What would be the difference between TV drama image production techniques under the changing circumstances of domestic broadcasting faced with multi-media, multi-channel age after 1980' s press unification and establishment of two times commercial TV stations?" This study analysed image production techniques of three periods of TV drama development, 'TV drama maturity period(1981-1990)', 'TV drama transition period(1991-2000)', 'TV drama take-off period(2001-)'. For the image analysis within the genre of home drama, 3 dramas for each period were selected and analysed cameraworks, shot size, shot duration with the broadcasting station's DVD, homepage and manuscript. The result of this analysis revealed that the change of shot size was slight but the change of cameraworks was great, the usage of zoom and tilt diminished but the usage of dolly and track increased. and the average shot duration drastically diminished during the take-off period. These results show us that broadcasting production equipments developed during the periods, and broadcasting stations poured all-out efforts for the higher viewing rates and international competitiveness.
