  • 한국해양연구원에서는 2008년 으 로 예정된 통신해앙기상위성(통해기)의 발사에 맞춰 통해기에 탑재된 해색센서(GOCI)자료의 수신,처리,배포를 위한 해앙위성센터 구축을 진행하고 있다. 전파수신환경,자연환경 등을 고려하여, 해양위성센터 위치를 안산(한국해양연구원 본원)으로 정하였다. 이에 따라,지금까지 안테나를 포함한 수신시스템에 대한 상세설계,내부 구조 변경,H/W 및 N/W 설계,자료처리 시스템 일부의 도입을 실시하였다. 여기에서는,해양위성센터 구축 현황을 소개하고,해색센서(GOCI)자료의 수신,처리,배포 시스템 설계 결과를 소개하고자 한다. 가장 중요한 자료 배포 시스템은 기본적으로 온라인으로 구성되며, 수신된 데이터를 1시간 내에 제공하기 위해 웹호스팅 등 외부데이터 제공 시스템도 구축하는 것을 구상 중에 있다.

Data Control Methods of Online Application based on Multi-Platform (멀티 플랫폼 기반 온라인 응용의 데이터 제어 기법)

  • Several multi-user online applications which are operated by the existing fixed terminals(PC) are being changed into online application based on multi-platform operated by the several PC, PDA and mobile phones to perform concurrent works recently. The contents of current online application based multi-platform are, however, very unsophisticated because the applications don't consider the simultaneous accesses of shared data by multi-user and also the asymmetry of computing power and network bandwidth among each client. This paper proposed the methods of consistency control based on multi-platform, update propagation protocols among diverse clients, object management techniques which take the characteristics of mobile clients into account. We also implemented a chatting application based on multi-platform and it showed the proposed methods perform well.

  • Broadcast disks are suited for disseminating information to a large number of clients in mobile computing environments. In broadcast disks, the server continuously and repeatedly broadcasts all data items in the database to clients without specific requests. The clients monitor the broadcast channel and retrieve data items as they arrive on the broadcast channel. The broadcast channel then becomes a disk from which clients can retrieve data items. In this paper, we propose a cache conscious concurrency control ($C^4$) scheme to preserve the consistency of client transactions, when the values of broadcast data items are updated at the server. $C^4$ scheme is novel in the sense that it can reduce the response time of client transactions with minimal control information to be broadcast from the server. This is achieved by the judicious caching strategy of the clients.

  • 한국우주전파관측망(KVN, Korean VLBI Network)의 86 GHz 대역 수신기는 VLBI에서 주로 관측하는 85-95 GHz 주파수 대역에서 동작하도록 설계, 제작되었다. UMASS(University of Massachusetts) 대학으로부터 도입된 수신기의 대역폭을 84-116 GHz로 확장하기 위해 2017년도부터 수신기 설계, 부품 구입 등을 진행하고 있다.기존 수신기의 대역폭을 확장하기 위해, 협대역 주파수 변환기의 설계를 변경해야 한다. 주파수 변환기는 일반적으로 사용되는 SSB(Single Side Band) Mixer를 사용하지 않았다. 그 대신에 20 dB 이상의 높은 이미지 제거율을 갖도록 HPF(High Pass Filter)와 LPF(Low Pass Filter)를 사용하여 RF 주파수를 84-100 GHz와 100-116 GHz로 나눈 후 주파수 변환토록 하였다. 사용된 Filter의 특성을 이용, 이미지 대역 신호를 수 십 dB 이상 제거할 수 있다. RF 단에서의 신호 분리로 인해 수신기 등가잡음 온도는 수 K 정도 증가한다. 2017년에 제안된 주파수 변환기를 상온에서 구성하여 그 가능성을 검증하였고, 2018년 9월 까지 KVN W-band 수신기 1 대의 업그레이드를 진행할 것이다. 2019년까지 KVN 3 사이트의 W-band 수신기 주파수 확장을 완료할 계획이다.

Channel Reordering and Prefetching Techniques for Efficient Channel Navigation in IPTVs (효율적인 IPTV 채널 탐색을 위한 채널 재배치 및 프리페칭 기법)

  • As IPTV has become one of the major Internet services, IPTV users and channels increase rapidly. However, the increased number of channels makes users difficult to find their desired channels. Along with this, the channel switching time of IPTV incurs serious user-perceived delay. To alleviate these problems, this paper presents hybrid schemes that combine channel prefetching and reordering schemes. Simulation experiments show that combining adjacency based prefetching and popular channel reordering reduces the channel seek time by up to 44.7% in comparison with the conventional channel seeking interfaces.

  • This paper presents an adaptive back propagation algorithm that its able to enhancement for the learning efficiency with updating the learning parameter and varies the number of hidden layer node by the generated error, adaptively. This algorithm is expected to escaping from the local minimum and make the best environment for the convergence of the back propagation neural network. On the simulation tested this algorithm on three learning pattern. One was exclusive-OR learning and the another was 3-parity problem and 7${\times}$5 dot alphabetic font learning. In result that the probability of becoming trapped in local minimum was reduce. Furthermore, the neural network enhanced to learning efficient about 17.6%~64.7% for the existed back propagation.

  • The ICS, Intercom is the equipment which mixes and distributes the audio signal from other LRUs and plays the Voice Messages. Henceforth, it is of immense contributory importance to the pilots. Especially, the audio routing, which controls On/Off mode of each audio channel, is significant in executing a pilots' mission. But the audio routing process is quite complicated as it has the interface combination of many control signals. Underthecondition, the exceptional handling becomes difficult, which decreases maintainability and productivity. In the present work, to prevent such a situation, the author suggests amethodology,whichwillhavealower impact when the software is changed and provides high maintainability and productivity for audio routing processing.

  • Travel choice behavior is affected by real-time traffic information. Recently, in urban area, real-time traffic information is provided by several instruments such as transportation broadcasting, internet PC network and variable message sign, etc. Furthermore, it has been increasing for urban travelers to use real-time traffic information provided by several instruments. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of advanced traveler information on urban worker's travel choice behavior. Among several Advanced Traveler Information System(ATIS) employed in urban area. This study focuses on examining the effects of transportation broadcasting on urban worker's travel choice behavior. This study attempts to examine traveler's mode change behavior in the pre-trip stage and traveler's route change behavior in the on-route stage. For this study, the survey data collected from Daegu City in 2000 is used. For empirical analysis, several nested logit models are estimated, and among them, the best models are reported in this paper. Furthermore, based on the empirical models estimated for this research, important findings and their policy implications are discussed.

Influence of lossy ground on impulse propagation in time domain for impulse ground penetrating radar (초광대역 임펄스 지반탐사레이더에서 지면의 영향에 따른 임펄스 전파 특성 연구)

  • In this paper, influence of lossy ground and gap variation between lossy ground and UWB antenna on impulse propagation in time domain for impulse ground penetrating radar (GPR) is numerically and experimentally investigated. For this study, a novel planar UWB fat dipole antenna is developed. First, influence of lossy ground and gap variation between lossy ground and UWB antenna is simulated. For verification, a test field of sand and wet clay soil is built and using the developed dipole antenna, transmission behavior is investigated at the test field. With an aid of IDFT (inverse discrete Fourier transform), time domain impulse response for transmission coefficient measured and simulated in frequency domain is obtained. Measurement and simulation show that the frequency of maximum transmission coefficient and transmission coefficient are increased with higher dielectric constant and larger gap distance. In time domain, it is shown that for higher dielectric constant, the amplitude of the received signal in time domain is higher and reflected signals are seriously modified. Also, it is found that variation of gap between antenna and ground surface makes timing of peak value changed.

  • In this paper, we investigated the correlation outputs of Daejeon correlator at the viewpoints of the buffer memory setting related to the fine delay tracking and the under/overflow issue in FFT modules, in order to eliminate DC-like component and phase concentration to 0 degree. As the ring buffer memory is being used for the fine delay tracking, the DC-like component in correlation outputs is generated by improper setting of data read/write address, and then that address setting method is modified to exclude a polluted FFT segment in correlation processing when crossing the port/stream boundary. The phase concentration to 0 degree at beginning of bandpass is caused by inadequate scaling factors, which may be the origins of under/overflow occurred at internal computation of FFT stage. With the revised method of the ring buffer memory setting and the scaling factors in FFT, we could obtain higher signal-to-noise ratio and flux density, compared to the previous method, through the correlation processing of true observational data.
