A Study on Characteristics of PRAT and Cornering due to the Belt Angle of Tire by the FEM (FEM을 이용한 타이어의 벨트각도에 따른 PRAT 및 코너링 특성 연구)

  • The influence of tire belt angle on the Plysteer Residual Aligning Torque(PRAT) and the cornering stiffness by the FEM has been studied. The PRAT is a performance factor of the tire about vehicle pull, and the cornering stiffness has relation to vehicle steering response of outdoor test. To validate FE model for analysis, simulation data for both the static stiffness(vertical, lateral) and the PRAT have been compared with the experimental data. In addition to the characteristics of the PRAT and the cornering stiffness due to the tire belt angle, rolling and cornering contact characteristics have been studied. The tendency of the PRAT and the cornering stiffness due to the belt angle can be used as a guide line for the tire design in relation to vehicle pull and vehicle steering response.

  • The paper has analyzed the influence of tire design variable on the tire Force and Moment (F&M) characteristics, especially by the belt angle, the Plysteer Residual Aligning Torque (PRAT) which is considered as one of the causing factors for the vehicle pull. To validate the tire FE model, the tire stiffness and the PRAT which can be derived from the simulation data have been compared with the experimental data of test machine. In addition to PRAT characteristic, the tire stiffness and cornering characteristics due to the belt angle have been investigated. The effects of drum's curvature on the PRAT have been also investigated using the tire FE model and the usefulness of the current drum type F&M test machine can be confirmed.

  • 환경오염과 차량 성능향상에 따라서 날로 강화되는 연비규제는 차량용 변속기로서 CVT 양상 보급에 대한 필요를 앞당기고 있다. CVT는 소형차를 중심으로 일부 자동차 에이커에 의해 이미 실용화되어 있으며 일본 및 구미 자동차 각 사는 CVT에 대한 자체기술을 보유하고 경쟁성 있 는 완성품 개발을 위하여 총력을 기울이고 있는 실정이다. CVT에 대한 연구개발의 추세는 동 력전달 구동요소의 특성에 따라 벨트식과 토로이달 (Torodial)식으로 구분할 수 있으며 대부분의 경우 현재 일부 실용화 개발된 벨트식 CVT가 기술완성도가 높은 반면 토로이달롤러의 각도를 연속적으로 변환시킴으로써 무단변속을 이루는 토로이달 방식은 2000년대 이후에 양산을 목표로 일본 및 영국 등에서 개발 진행주이나 새로운 재질과 제어기술개발 등의 숙제를 안고 있다. 벨 트식의 경우 금속벨트는 지난 십 수년이상 시행착오를 겪으며 CVT용으로 개발된 전문업체의 제품이 이미 특허화되어 있기 때문에 자동차 각사는 벨트와 같은 구동요소보다는 CVT 메카니즘 설계 및 제어시스템 개발에 기술력을 투입하고 있다. 따라서 국내 CVT 개발도 이와 같은 추세를 따를 것으로 기대되고 있으나 AT와 같은 완성품으로서의 상품가치를 갖기 위하여는 CVT에 대한 보다 많은 연구개발이 필요하다고 생각된다.

Analysis of Traffic Safety Effectiveness of Vehicle Seat-belt Wearing Detection System (주행차량 안전벨트 착용 검지시스템 교통안전 효과 분석)

  • Although it is mandatory to wear a seat belt that can minimize human injury when traffic accident occurs, the number of traffic accident casualties not wearing seat belts still accounts for a significant proportion.The seat belt wearing detection system for all seats is a system that identifies whether all seat passengers wear a seat belt and encourages their usage, also it can be a useful technical countermeasure. Firstly, this study established the viability of system implementation by assessing the factors influencing the severity of injuries in traffic accidents through the development of an ordered probit model. Analysis results showed that the use of seat belts has statistically significant effects on the severity of traffic accidents, reducing the probability of death or serious injury by 0.054 times in the event of a traffic accident. Secondly, a meta-analysis was conducted based on prior research related to seat belts and injuries in traffic accidents to estimate the expected reduction in accident severity upon the implementation of the system.The analysis of the effect of accident severity reduction revealed that wearing seat belts would lead to a 63.3% decrease in fatal accidents, with the front seats showing a reduction of 75.7% and the rear seats showing a reduction of 58.1% in fatal accidents. Lastly, Using the results of the meta-analysis and traffic accident statistics, the expected decrease in the number of traffic accident casualties with the implementation of the system was derived to analyze the traffic safety effects of the proposed detection system. The analysis demonstrated that with an increase in the adoption rate of the system, the number of casualties in accidents where seat belts were not worn decreased. Specifically, at a system adoption rate of 60%, it is anticipated that the number of fatalities would decrease by more than three times compared to the current scenario. Based on the analysis results, operational strategies for the system were proposed to increase seat belt usage rates and reduce accident severity.

Factors Influencing Crash Severity by the Types of Bus Transportation Services Using Ordered Probit Models (순서형 프로빗 모형을 이용한 버스 운송사업 유형 별 사고심각도 영향요인 분석)

  • Buses, one of the representative public transportation modes, are divided into a vareity of service types according to the purpose of operation, operating distance, and management agencies. Although bus-involved crashes may cause large amount of damage due to the higher number of passengers boarded on a bus, prior research has little focused on crash severity according to bus service types. This study aims to investigate factors influencing crash severity in bus-involved crashes and to present policy implications to reduce crash severity by bus service type. To do this, bus-involved crash data from the Traffic Accident Analysis System (TAAS) during five-year period are used. Ordered probit models for three types of bus service, i.e., city bus, suburban and express buses, and charter buses, are estimated to analyze the factors of accident severity. The results show that there are significant differences of factors affecting crash severity among the types of bus services while speed and road surface influence all the types of buses. In case of local buses, time of day, roadway alignment, and installation of a traffic signal are found to be statistically significant factors. Seat belt and road class have significant effects on injury severity of the intercity and express buses. Chartered buses have time of day, driving experience, seatbelt, traffic signal, and day of week as the significant factors. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the reduction of the crash severity by each bus service type.

Impacts from the Wearing of a SPINE-GUARD on a Cross-Legged Sit on Variations of the Cobb's Angle, Lower Back Pain and Trunk Flexion Angle (양반 앉은 자세에서의 SPINE-GUARD 착용이 허리부위의 코브각 및 통증 그리고 몸통 굽힘각도의 변화에 미치는 영향)

  • When we keep sitting for a long time, we end up with pain due to changes in the curvature in the waist. This study examined impacts from the wearing of a SPINE-GUARD(belt for the waist stabilization) on a cross-legged sit on variations of the Cobb's angle, lower back pain and trunk flexion angle. 15 men for the examination have watched movies or attended lectures while wearing a belt for 90 minutes per round for every five rounds for two weeks. The Cobb's angle showed a significant decrease from $48.36{\pm}14.57$ before wearing to $28.09{\pm}11.63$ after wearing (p<0.05). Pain decreased from $4.53{\pm}2.36$ before wearing to $2.733{\pm}2.153$ after wearing (p<0.05). The trunk flexion angle also showed a significant decrease from $82.33{\pm}20.30$ before wearing to $70.2{\pm}19.43$ after wearing (p<0.05). Given these findings, the wearing of a SPINE-GUARD seems to affect variations of the Cobb's angle and trunk flexion angle, and decrease of lower back pain.

  • 전동기와 부하시스템은 직결, 혹은 커플링을 통하여 연결이 된다. 이때의 동력을 전달하는 커플링, 기어, 벨트 등의 특성에 따라 전달되는 토크의 특성이 달라진다. 본 논문에서는 동력 축과 부하 축을 기구적으로 분리가 가능한 영구자석 커플링을 적용한 구동 전동기-부하시스템에 축계 시스템 해석을 위하여 유한요소 해석을 통하여 비틀림 각도 변화에 따른 전달 토크를 얻고, 이를 활용하여 기구 해석 모델에 적용해 보고, 전동기-부하 시스템의 토크 변동 가능성에 대해 알아본다.

  • The purpose of this study is to progress the limitations and disadvantages of existing safety clothing by applying high technology to current safety clothing that is produced and distributed only with fluorescent fabrics and retroreflective materials. Therefore, the industrial suspender-type safety belt and engineering technology are introduced, designed, and fabricated to help save a life in an emergency. First, the suspender-type safety belt to be developed is designed to emit light by LED attached to the film, and the body of the belt-wearer is recognized from a distance through retroreflection from the flashing LED. It aims to support people's safety by preventing accidents during roadside work, rescue activities, and sports activities at night. Second, with the development of advanced devices when the user is in an unconscious state due to distress or falls into an unconscious state due to distress or accident, the tilt sensor of the control unit attached to the belt automatically detects the angle of the human body and generates light and sound. It is intended to further enhance the utilization by mounting a sensing and signaling device that generates a distress signal and shaping it in the form of a belt attached to a vest that can be easily detached from the outside of the garment. When the wearer falls due to an accident, the tilt sensor of this belt detects the angle change and then the controller generates a high-frequency sound and repeated LED blinking signals at the same time. In the case of conventional safety vests, it is almost impossible to detect that the person is wearing a vest when there is no ambient light, but in case of the safety belts in this study, the sound and light signals of the safety belt enable us to find the wearer within 100 meters even when there is no ambient light.

  • 본 논문에서는 컨베이어 벨트상에서 이송되는 대용량 소포영상의 획득과정을 통해 ROI(Region of Interest) 고속추출하기 위한 방법 중에서 소포의 면적을 산출하기 위한 외형 좌표값을 산출하는 방법을 제시한 것이다. 이송하는 과정에서 높이센서의 값과 투입되는 각도에 따라 최장길이가 다르지만 이 값도 산출이 용이하다 이와 같은 정보와 결합하여 소포의 부피를 산출을 위해 사용될 수 있는 소포의 외형 좌표값들의 산출 방법과 활용방법을 제시한 것이다. 초기과정에는 불필요한 영역을 검사하기 위한 조건과 유사한 패턴을 단계적으로 제거하는 방법을 적용하였다. $4,096{\times}4,096$ 이상의 대용량 영상에서 불필요한 영역 제거 시간을 포함하여 평균 30.85msec 이내에 추출이 가능한 방법을 제시한 것이다.

  • 스포츠웨어 바람막이용도에 사용되는 대부분의 소재는 폴리아미드계 소재이며, 국내에서는 대부분 나일론6 소재를 사용하고 있다. 최근 소비자들의 요구는 점점 경량화되고 있고 야외활동 증가와 더불어 착용감이 우수한 소재를 요구하고 있다. 이러한 시즘에 국내에서 많이 사용되는 나일론6 소재를 이용하여 직물단계에서 경량감과 스트레치성이 발현될수 있는 나일론6 세섬 권축사 개발에 대한 연구를 진행하고자 함이다. 본 연구에서는 직물단계에서 경량감과 스트레치성이 발현될수 있는 나일론6 세섬 권축사 개발을 위해 공중합 나일론6 폴리머와 일반 나일론6 폴리머를 복합방사설비를 이용하여 SIDE BY SIDE POY 26d/6f 원사를 제조하였다. 원사물성은 섬도 25.8d, 절단신도 71%, 절단강도 4.3g/d의 물성을 가졌으며, Nip Belt 가연설비로 연신비, 가연 1st 히터온도, 벨트각도 조건에 따라서 제조된 나일론6 가연사 DTY 20d/6f의 물성을 평가하였고, 비교사로서 T사에서 생산되고 있는 나일론6 가연사 DTY 20d/6f와 비교평가하였다. 비수탄성율은 가연 연신비가 높고, 1st 히터온도가 높은 조건에서 높게 나타남을 알 수 있었으며, 염색 가공 공정에서의 전처리단계에서 $100^{\circ}C$정도의 열을 받았을 때의 수축에 따른 권축효과 발현에 따른 신축성 변화에 대한 상대평가를 사단계에서 유추할 수 있다. 권축효과가 높게 나타난다 하더라도, 사의 수축힘이 적으면 권축효과 발현특성에 큰 차이가 없으므로 열응력을 측정을 한 결과, 가연 연신비가 높고 가연 1st 히터온도가 높은 조건에서 열응력이 높게 나타남을 알 수 있었으며, 비교사에 비해 약간 높은 열응력 값을 보였다. 절단강도는 가연조건에 따라서 큰 변화가 없었고, 절단신도는 연신비가 증가함에 따라 점차 감소하였으며 비교사와도 큰 차이를 보이지 않았음. 따라서, POY 26d/6f 원사에 적합하고, 권축효과가 우수한 가연조건을 도출하였고, 가연현장 작업시 문제가 없는 가연 최적조건을 도출하였다. 향후, 가연조건에 따른 제조된 가연사를 이용하여 제직 및 염색가공 공정을 거친후, 직물신축성 평가를 실시할 계획이다.
