  • The purpose of this study is to development of North Korea tour product. From 10 years ago, Kumgangsan tour started with peace unikorea. But only south korea and north korea is uncertain on political issue also always tour is influenced. Kumgangsan, Gaesung and baekdusan tour is going to renew. So North Korea tour product is continuos of space connection of adjoining land under Kumgangsan, Gaesung and baekdusan tour product.

  • The government announced to launch tours to the Mt.Baekdu that use a direct air route through the 2007 South-North Korean leader joint declaration. The Mt.Baekdu tourism is large symbolism to the Korean people. Government and Hyundai Asan speak that propel Mt.Baekdu tourism using existent Samjiyeon airport in early time. But, air traffic and airport operation must consider safety preferentially. Present condition investigation and facility improvement of the Samjlyeon airport should be enforced first. And need facility expansion by increased demand hereafter. Compose South-North Air traffic network system to this opportunity and basis research and phase investment may have to be propelled.

  • 중국은 최근 급속히 진행되는 도시화와 소득 증대 철도 도로 항공 등 교통 인프라 개선에 따라 중국 여행업이 빠르게 발전하고 있다. 중국 사회과학원이 최근 발표한 <2011년 중국 관광 그린북>에 따르면 중국 여행객 수는 연평균 11.7% 증가하여 21억 명을 돌파했고, 관광 수입도 연평균 18.9% 증가해 1조 2,600억 위안에 달하고 있다. 세계경제포럼에서 발표한 세계 관광국 경쟁력 순위에서 중국은 2007년 71위에서 2010년에 39위로 성장하였고, UN 세계관광기구의 보고서에 따르면 중국은 세계 4대 해외관광시장이자 아시아 최대 해외관광 자원국이 되었다. 그리고 미국 보스턴컨설팅그룹이 발표한 보고서에 따르면 2013년 중국은 일본을 제치고 '세계 2 대 관광시장'으로 부상하여 세계 관광시장의 8%를 점유하고, 2020년에는 세계시장 점유율이 14%에 달할 것으로 전망하고 있다(대한상공회의소, 2011). 이러한 중국의 여행지 중에서 중국의 전문여행서적에서 추천하고 있는 중국외 관광명소 중 20대 명승지에 속하는 광서 계림, 호남 장가계, 안휘 황산, 절강 항주, 북경, 내몽고 호화 호특, 백두산 등을 배낭여행을 떠나 구석구석 살펴보았다.

South Korean Demand for Tourism in North Korea and the Impact of their Expenses on the North Korean Regional Economy (한국인의 북한 관광의사와 북한 지역경제 효과)

  • This study analyses how much Korean visits to North Korea have an impact on the North Korean regional economy. It estimates the demand for North Korean tourism via the borders of North Korea, China, and Russia and South Korean expenses to be spent in North Korea. When asked if they are willing to visit North Korea within the next five years in case the pre-conditions of the visit to North Korea are satisfied, approximately 64.1% of the survey respondents indicated 'yes'. To estimate the demand, this research employed the analysis of purchase intention, popular in marketing, based on their willingness to visit. The annual demand for tourism was 4,136,361 persons. The average estimated expense per person is KRW 1,532,000 and the total annual expense is KRW 6,336.9 billion. Assuming that airfare is excluded from the total expense and the expense is made evenly in each tourist destination, the estimated amount to be spent in North Korea is KRW 2,838.7 billion per annum. The backward linkage effect of this expense on the North Korean regional economy is KRW 7,972.1 billion in total production inducement, KRW 2,619.4 billion in value-added inducement, and approximately 2,890,443 persons in employment inducement. The value-added inducement effect is estimated to be approximately 7.6% of the North Korean nominal GDP in 2020. South Korean tourism is expected to have a significant impact on the North Korean economy. As the demand for North Korean tourism is likely to increase steadily due to the expected increase in overseas travel demand by Koreans, inter-Korean cooperation is needed for the development of North Korean tourism infrastructure if conditions improve.

  • 본 연구는 북한의 지역격차를 분석하고, 상대적으로 낙후된 지역에 대한 개발전략으로서, 북한의 경제발전을 위해 확대.설치가 불가피한 경제특구와 연계하여 지역균형개발전략을 모색해 보았다. 북한의 지역간 인구성장 분석에 의하면, 북한은 지역균형개발정책에도 불구하고, 종주도시 평양과 여타 지역간에 극심한 지역격차를 보이고 있다. 따라서 앞으로 경제특구는 낙후된 지역 즉, 평양을 제외한 여타 지역에 고르게 입지하는 전략이 요구된다는 점을 가조하였다. 그리고 경제특구는 북한의 보유자원 관점에서 노동집약적인 가공공업형 경제특구와 관광형 경제특구로 나누어 추진되는 것이 바람직하며, 입지 후보지로는 신의주.남포.해주.청진.김책.함흥.원산 등의 지구는 가공공업형 경제특구로, 금강산.백두산.묘향산 등의 지구는 관광형 경제특구로 적합하다고 제안하였다.

A Study on Forecasting Air Transport Demand between South and North Korea (남북한 연결 항공교통 수요예측에 관한 연구)

  • This paper aims to predict air passenger and air freight demands in the air routes between South and North Korea. The air demands will be fostered by the visitors of Pyeongyang and Baekdu Mountain, whose forecasts will be used for supplying the air traffic services necessary for the active exchange and cooperation between South and North Korea in the future. The authors use the tool of regression analysis under the assumption of epoch-making progress in demand for aviation in accordance with the exchange and cooperation scenario between South and North Korea. After predicting the total number of travelers through regression analysis, the authors applied the share of air passengers among total travelers in order to predict the number of air passengers. Finally, the number of flights of each airport and route were forecasted by including the air freight, estimated from the number of air passengers.
