The Adsorption and Movement Characteristics of Pendimethalin in Soils (토양중 Pendimethalin의 흡착 및 이동특성)

  • The adsorption and movement characteristics of herbicide pendimethalin was studied in three kinds of soil, sandy loam, silty clay and loam. The results of the batch test and columnexperimentweresummarizedasfollows. The shaking time reached to the adsorption equilibrium of pendimethalin in soils was 6 hours. The adsorption rates of pendimethalin for sandy loam, silty clay and loam were 59.6%, 77.3% and 64.0%, respectively. The adsorption isotherms with the Freundlich equation showed better consistency than that with the Langmuir one. The adsorption coefficients of pendimethalin for soils were 8.0. 16.1 and 9.5. respectively. When breakthrough point was 0.05Co, the breakthrough times reached for soils were 256 minutes, 810 minutes and 420 minutes. respectively.

Evaluation of Fatigue Life of Electro-Mechanical Actuator for Front Wheel Steering (전륜 조향용 전기식 작동기 피로수명 평가)

  • Recently, the consideration of eco-friendly technology to reduce greenhouse gas is being emphasized in the aviation field. Various studies for applying electro-mechanical actuators that control mechanical linear and rotational movements using electricity as the primary power source are in progress. In this study, the fatigue analysis of the electro-mechanical actuator for the front wheel steering of a single aisle aircraft was carried out. A unit load stress table was constructed for the vulnerable part selected through structural analysis, and the representative stress for each load profile was calculated using the unit load stress table constructed for the vulnerable part. Then, individual profiles of representative stress group were extracted from continuous load profiles by applying the rainflow counting method. The damage of each profile was calculated by applying the S-N diagram. Finally, the total damage in the vulnerable parts was calculated by the linear cumulative damage law, and the fatigue life of the electro-mechanical actuator for the front wheel steering of a single aisle aircraft was evaluated.

Gallbladder Ejection Fraction Using $^{99m}Tc$-DISIDA Scan in Diabetic Autonomic Neuropathy (당뇨병성 자율 신경병증에서 $^{99m}Tc$-DISIDA를 이용한 담낭 배출율에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: We performed this study to evaluate the changes of gallbladder ejection fraction (GBEF) in diabetic patients with or without autonomic neuropathy. Materials and Methods: This study included 37 diabetic patients (25 women, 12 men, mean age 51 years) and 24 normal controls (10 women, 14 men, mean age 38 years). After intravenous injection of 185 MBq of $^{99m}Tc$-DISIDA, serial anterior abdominal images were acquired before and after fatty meal. Regions of interest were applied on gallbladder and right hepatic lobe on 60 and 90 minute images to calculate GBEF. Results: GBEF was significantly reduced in diabetes with autonomic neuropathy ($43{\pm}12.3%$) and without autonomic neuropathy ($57.5{\pm}13.2%$) compared with normal controls ($68{\pm}11.6%$, p<0.05). And also, GBEF was significantly reduced in diabetes with autonomic neuropathy compared with diabetes without autonomic neuropathy (p<0.05). Fasting blood glucose level, age, sex, hemoglobin Alc, body mass index, serum lipid level were not different in these two diabetic patient groups (p>0.05). When 50.2% of GBEF was used as the criteria for diabetic autonomic neuropathy, the sensitivity and specificity were 80%, 76.5%, respectively. The area under receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.846. Conclusion: GBEF of diabetic patients with autonomic neuropathy was significantly reduced than that of diabetic patients without autonomic neuropathy.

  • 우리나라는 하상계수가 큰 하천의 특성 때문에 콘크리트 구조의 고정보를 설치하여 하천수위를 유지하고, 취수용으로 사용하여 왔다. 그러나 고정보는 유수방해, 토사퇴적으로 인한 홍수위 상승 등의 다양한 문제를 야기시키고 있다. 이에 따라 4대강에는 다양한 형상과 운영방식이 적용된 가동보가 설치되었으며, 소하천과 중규모 하천 역시 하천기능의 복원을 위한 정비사업이 진행되고 있다. 하천관리의 목표는 하천의 이수, 치수 및 생태환경 기능의 종합적이며, 유기적인 관계를 조화롭게 유지하면서 각 기능을 극대화시키는 것이다. 우선, 토사의 퇴적을 사전에 예방하고, 퇴적된 토사는 유수에 따라 배출될 수 있도록 하단방류 형식으로 개선되어야 한다. 또한 홍수기에는 통수가 원활하도록 보의 기능을 해제할 수 있어야 하는 한편, 하류구간이 범람하지 않도록 상류구간에서의 완충기능을 가져야 한다. 이러한 요구조건을 충족하기 위해서 다단형태의 하단방류형 가동보 수문 시스템을 고려할 수 있다. 다단형태의 하단방류형 가동보 수문시스템은 경사 하천에 가동보에 의해 물을 저수하고, 저수된 물을 보 상류에서 유입되는 유입수량 만큼만을 수문 하단 개도부를 통하여 방류하도록 하여, 일정량이 항상 저류되면서 퇴적토사가 배출되도록 하여 수질을 개선하는 방식이다. 본 연구에서는 금강의 지류인 치성천 9Km 구간을 대상으로 HEC-RAS 4.1 모형을 적용하여 하단방류형 가동보를 하류부터 상류구간까지 다단형태로 설치하였을 경우, 하천의 저류와 분배기능 회복에 따른 홍수위 저감 효과를 고정보 설치의 경우와 비교 분석하였다. 홍수소통 능력을 검토하기 위해서 연구대상 구간을 200년 빈도의 확률홍수량 별로 10개 구간으로 나누어 검토한 결과, 고정보 설치의 경우에는 여유고 기준을 초과하는 부분이 나타났으나, 다단식 하단방류형 가동보를 설치하고, 수문개도를 조작하여 운영할 경우에는 여유고 기준을 초과하는 부분이 없어, 홍수위 저감 효과를 기대할 수 있는 것으로 나타났을 뿐만 아니라, 홍수기이후에도 하천유지용수 기준을 만족하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 설치 및 유지관리의 비용측면과 용수확보 및 홍수피해 절감의 편익측면에서도 50년 운영주기의 비용편익성은 양호한 것으로 나타났으며, 생태환경보전과 친수공간 확보측면의 편익성을 추가로 고려할 경우, 경제성은 충분히 확보될 것으로 판단되었다.

  • 고온고압에서 운전되는 IGCC용 분류층 석탄가스화기는 석탄에 포함된 회 성분을 대부분 용융 슬래그 형태로 가스화기 벽을 타고 흘러내리게 하여 가스화기 하부로 배출시킨다. 이러한 용융 슬래그를 원활하게 배출시키는 것은 가스화기의 안정적인 운전에 있어서 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 슬래그 층 내의 물질수지, 운동량 및 에너지 보존을 고려하여 석탄가스화기내의 슬래그 거동을 해석할 수 있는 모델 식을 유도하였다. 유도된 슬래그 거동 모델 식들을 적용하고 가스화기의 형상을 고려하여 가스화기 내부에서의 슬래그 거동을 해석하였다. 또한 슬래그 물성치들인 슬래그 점도, 슬래그 비열, 슬래그 밀도, 슬래그 열전달 계수 등을 슬래그의 조성 변화에 따라 별도로 산정하여 슬래그 해석의 입력 데이터로 사용하였다. 슬래그에 첨가되는 석회석의 비율을 해석의 주요 변수로 사용하여 가스화기 하부에서 용융 슬래그 및 고체 슬래그 두께, 용융 슬래그 층 내부에서의 슬래그 점도분포 및 슬래그 속도분포 등 슬래그 거동의 주요 특성들을 예측하였다. 해석결과로 석탄에 석회석의 첨가량을 증가시키면 슬래그의 임계점도온도(temperature of critical viscosity)와 점도가 낮아지므로 가스화기 벽면에서의 용융 슬래그의 유동속도는 빨라지며, 고체 슬래그와 용융 슬래그의 두께가 감소하는 것을 정량적으로 확인할 수 있었다.

Study on the Concentration Estimation Equation of Nitrogen Dioxide using Hyperspectral Sensor (초분광센서를 활용한 이산화질소 농도 추정식에 관한 연구)

  • The CleanSYS(Clean SYStem) is operated to monitor air pollutants emitted from specific industrial complexes in Korea. So the industrial complexes without the system are directly monitored by the control officers. For efficient monitoring, studies using various sensors have been conducted to monitor air pollutants emitted from industrial complex. In this study, hyperspectral sensors were used to model and verify the equations for estimating the concentration of $NO_2$(nitrogen dioxide) in air pollutants emitted. For development of the equations, spectral radiance were observed for $NO_2$ at various concentrations with different SZA(Solar Zenith Angle), VZA(Viewing Zenith Angle), and RAA(Relative Azimuth Angle). From the observed spectral radiance, the calculated value of the difference between the values of the specific wavelengths was taken as an absorption depth, and the equations were developed using the relationship between the depth and the $NO_2$ concentration. The spectral radiance mixed gas of $NO_2$ and $SO_2$(sulfur dioxide) was used to verify the equations. As a result, the $R^2$(coefficient of determination) and RMSE(Root Mean Square Error) were different from 0.71~0.88 and 72~23 ppm according to the form of the equation, and $R^2$ of the exponential form was the highest among the equations. Depending on the type of the equations, the accuracy of the estimated concentration with varying concentrations is not constant. However, if the equations are advanced in the future, hyperspectral sensors can be used to monitor the $NO_2$ emitted from the industrial complex.

  • Nitrous oxide, one of the six greenhouse gases from Kyoto protocol, is known to be emitted in biological nitrification and denitrification reactions at wastewater treatment plant. In this study, EQPS which is a computer program that can simulate nitrous oxide gas emission amount at wastewater treatment plants is used. The MLE process which treats wastewater from combined sewer is studied. Operational variables which are MLR, water temperature at reactor and primary clarifier by-pass percentage are changed to define the condition which produces the least amount of nitrous oxide gas. 200 % of MLR, 20 ℃ of water temperature at bioreactor and 15 % of primary clarifier by-pass percentage are shown the least nitrous oxide emission factor. Also, it is found that the deep aeration tank produces less amount of nitrous oxide gas since less air is required to meet oxygen demand in this type of aeration tank.

Comparison of Methane Production in Korean Native Cattle (Hanwoo) Fed Different Grain Sources (곡류 사료원별 육성기 한우 장내발효에 의한 메탄가스 배출량 비교)

  • Methane production during anaerobic fermentation in the rumen represents an energy loss to the host animal and induces emissions of greenhouse gases in the environment. Our study focused on comparison in methane production from growing Korean native steers fed different grain sources. Six Hanwoo steers (BW = $180.6{\pm}3.1$ kg) were fed, on a DM basis (TDN 2.80 kg), 40% timothy and 60% barley concentrate (Barley) or corn concentrate (Corn), respectively, based on the Korean Feeding Standards. Each period lasted 18 days including a 14-day adaptation and a 4-day measuring times. The steers were in the head hood chamber system (one cattle per chamber) during each measuring time to measure heat and methane production per day. Different grain sources did not affect digestibilities of dry matter, crude protein, crude fiber, crude fat, NDF, ADF and nitrogen-free extract. The mean methane concentrations per day were 202.0 and 177.1 ppm for Barley and Corn, respectively. Methane emission averaged 86.8 and 77.7 g/day for Barley and Corn, respectively. Methane emission factor by maintenance energy requirement for the growing steers fed barley based concentrate was higher than the steers fed corn based concentrate (Barley vs. Corn, 31.7 kg $CH_4\;head^{-1}\;yr^{-1}$ vs. 28.4 kg $CH_4\;head^{-1}\;yr^{-1}$). Thus, methane conversion rate was 0.065 (6.5%) and 0.055 (5.5%) for Barley and Corn, respectively.

Region-wide Road Transport CO2 Emission Inventory (지역단위 도로교통 탄소배출 인벤토리구축 방법론)

  • Due to its excessive $CO_2$ emissions, road transport sector becomes a target for emission reduction strategies. Although precise and reliable emissions inventories are necessary for evaluating plans and strategies, developing the region-wide inventory is a difficult task mainly because of a lack of data including travel patterns and modal volumes in the reginonal context. Most existing inventory methodologies employ fuel sale data within the target region, which ignores actual regional traffic patterns and thus not suited to its geographical context. To overcome these problems, this study develops region-wide $CO_2$ emissions inventory methodology by utilizing the Korea Transport DB (KTDB). KTDB provides a number of useful information and data, such as road network with which one can identify in and out trips over the entire region, traffic volumes of various modes, distance of travel, travel speed and so on. A model of equations that allow the computation of volume of $CO_2$ emitting from the road transport activities within the target region is developed. Using the model, numerical analyses are performed for the case of Busan Metropolitan City to demonstrate the applicability of the developed model. This study is indeed exploratory in the sense that using the existing data, it develops the $CO_2$ emissions inventory methodology which can produce better results than those from conventional fuel sales methodology. This study also suggests further reresarch directions to develop more refined methodologies in region-wide basis.

합성섬유를 증발매체로한 저농도 방사성액체폐기물 처리

  • 저농도 방사성 액체폐기물의 최종 처리를 목적으로 본 연구에서는 면 35%와 Polyester 65%가 함유된 합성섬유를 증발매체로 하여 자연상태의 공기를 강제 송풍시키는 자연증발처리시설에서 증발에 영향을 미치는 주요 변수에 따라 증발 단위 면적당 Cs-137, Co-60을 함유한 방사성 폐액의 증발량측정 및 제염계수를 조사하였다. 증발효과는 유입공기의 습도가 낮고, 공기의 유속과 공급액의 유량이 증가하고 유입공기 및 폐액의 온도가 높아질수록 증발량이 증가하였다. 실험결과 유입된 공기는 1$0^{\circ}C$ 이상, 습도는 80% 이하, 공급폐액의 유량이 3.4 $\ell$/hr $m^2$ 이상, 공기유속은 1.14~l.47 m/sec 범위가 조업조건이며 이때 제염계수는 5.1 $\times$ $10^3$, 배출공기의 방사능 농도는 4.7$\times$$10^{-13}$ $\mu$Ci/$m\ell$ air로 측정되었다. 공급유량이 4.6$\ell$/hr.$m^2$와 공기유속이 1.47 m,/sec일때 최대 증발조건으로 나타났으며, 이때 증발량은 총 증발면적 11,250$m^2$ 에서 1.2 ㎥/hr로 측정되었으며 대기의 온.습도 및 풍속에 따른 실험을 통하여 달톤형 증발식의 Wind Factor [Eh = (0.0168 + 0.0141V)$\Delta$H]를 도출하였다.
