An Implementation of the Linear Scheduling Algorithm in Multiprocessor Systems using Genetic Algorithms (유전 알고리즘을 이용한 다중프로세서 시스템에서의 선형 스케쥴링 알고리즘 구현)

  • In this paper, we present a linear scheduling method for homogeneous multiprocessor systems using genetic algorithms. In general, genetic algorithms randomly generate initial strings, which leads to long operation time and slow convergence due to an inappropriate initialization. The proposed algorithm considers communication costs among processors and generates initial strings such that successive nodes are grouped into the same cluster. In the crossover and mutation operations, the algorithm maintains linearity in scheduling by associating a node with its immediate successor or predecessor. Linear scheduling can fully utilize the inherent parallelism of a given program and has been proven to be superior to nonlinear scheduling on a coarse grain DAG (directed acyclic graph). This paper emphasizes the usability of the genetic algorithm for real-time applications. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm rapidly converges within 50 generations in most DAGs.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the current status and trends of the research studies published by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics which is a leader in the field of industrial mathematics around the world. To perform this purpose, titles and abstracts were collected from 6,255 research articles between 2016 and 2019, and the R program was used to analyze the topic modeling model with LDA techniques and a regression model. As the results of analyses, first, a variety of studies have been studied in the fields of industrial mathematics, such as algebra, discrete mathematics, geometry, topological mathematics, probability and statistics. Second, it was found that the ascending research subjects were fluid mechanics, graph theory, and stochastic differential equations, and the descending research subjects were computational theory and classical geometry. The results of the study, based on the understanding of the overall flows and changes of the intellectual structure in the fields of industrial mathematics, are expected to provide researchers in the field with implications of the future direction of research and how to build an industrial mathematics curriculum that reflects the zeitgeist in the field of education.

  • Even though 32-bit ISA based microprocessors are widely used more and more, 16-bit ISA based processors are still being frequently employed for embedded systems. Intel 8086, 80286, Motorola 68000, and ADChips AE32000 are the representatives of the 16-bit ISA based processors. However, due to less expressiveness of the 16-bit ISA from its narrow bit width, we need to execute more 16-bit instructions for the same implementation compared to 32-bit instructions. Because the number of executed instructions is a very important factor in performance, we have to resolve the problem by improving the expressiveness of the 16-bit ISA. In this paper, we propose a new pair register allocation algorithm to enhance an original graph-coloring based register allocation algorithm. Also, we explain about both the performance result and further research directions.

  • 본 논문에서는 진동중인 교량 거더에 작용하는 풍하중을 산정하고 그에 따른 플러터 발생풍속을 예측하기 위하여 분산형 전산환경을 활용한 수치해석 연구를 수행하였다. 분산형 전산환경은 웹 포탈을 기반으로 수치해석 환경을 제공하는 수치풍동 시스템으로서, 전산유체역학(CFD : Computational Fluid Dynamics)에 대한 전문지식이 부족한 사용자들도 격자생성, 수치해석자를 이용한 계산, 가시화 등의 전 과정을 편리하게 수행할 수 있는 차세대 토목분야 연구 환경이다. 본 시스템은 그리드스피어(GfidSphere)를 기반으로 구성되었으며, 기본적으로 사용자 관리, 세션 관리, 그룹 관리, 레이아웃 관리 등을 제공하여 사용자가 포탈을 통해서 다양한 서비스를 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 환경을 구축하도록 도와준다. 수치해석을 위한 유체 지배방정식은 2차원 비정상 비압축성 RANS(Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes) 방정식이며, pseudo compressibility 방법을 적용하였다. 비정상 유동장을 해석하기 위하여 이중시간 전진법(dual time stepping)을 사용하였으며, 수렴가속화를 위해 Multi-grid 기법을 적용하였다. 또한 난류 유동장 해석을 위해서 $k-{\omega}$ SST 난류 모델을 사용하였으며, 난류 천이 과정에서의 유동을 모사하기 위하여 Total stress limitation 방법을 적용하였다. 교량 거더의 연직과 회전방향의 2자유도 움직임을 모사하기 위하여 동적격자 기법을 도입하였다. 교량 거더 주변의 비정상 유동해석 결과를 통해, 거더 표면에서 떨어져나가는 크고 작은 와류의 영향으로 양력 및 모멘트 계수 그래프가 중첩된 진폭과 주기를 갖고 주기적으로 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 계산된 비정상 공기력을 적용한 2자유도 플러터 방정식을 통하여 플러터 발생풍속을 산정하였다. 최종적으로 본 연구에서 계산된 결과의 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 수치적으로 구한 플러터 발생풍속과 기존의 실험 및 수치해석 결과를 비교하였으며, 결과는 잘 일치하였다.

Inter-frame vertex selection algorithm for lossy coding of shapes in video sequences (동영상에서의 모양 정보 부호화를 위한 정점 선택 알고리즘)

  • The vertex-based boundary encoding scheme is widely used in object-based video coding area and computer graphics due to its scalability with natural looking approximation. Existing single framebased vertex encoding algorithm is not efficient for temporally correlated video sequences because it does not remove temporal redundancy. In the proposed method, a vertex point is selected from not only the boundary points of the current frame but also the vertex points of the previous frame to remove temporal redundancy of shape information in video sequences. The problem of selecting optimal vertex points is modeled as finding shortest path in the directed acyclic graph with weight The boundary is approximated by a polygon which can be encoded with the smallest number of bits for maximum distortion. The temporal redundancy between two successive frames is efficiently removed with the proposed scheme, resulting in lower bit-rate than the conventional algorithms.

  • In this paper we describe a face recognition using EBGM(Elastic Bunch Graph Matching) method. Usally, the PCA and LDA based face recognition method with the low-dimensional subspace representation use holistic image of faces, but this study uses local features such as a set of convolution coefficients for Gabor kernels of different orientations and frequencies at fiducial points including the eyes, nose and mouth. At pre-recognition step, all images are represented with same size face graphs and they are used to recognize a face comparing with each similarity for all images. The proposed algorithm has less computation time due to simplified face graph than conventional EBGM method and the fuzzy matching method for calculating the similarity of face graphs renders more face recognition results.

  • There are two types of generators in the MHD generation : linear type Faraday and disk type hall generator. In this paper, it is experimented disk type hall generator. Disk type generator is driven by shock tube that compresses working gas isentropically in a very short time. As a working gas, helium gas seeded with cesium is used. it is difficult to confirm the whole condition thorough oかy experiment because the things happened in MHD generator is very complex. Furthermore we can't how exactly what happen at the inside of generator's channel because the time of generation is very short and working gas flows out very high speed. Expecially it is almost impossible to measure the things occurred in the boundary layer using MHD generation experimental equipment driven shock uk. With above reasons, to know certainly how the several values happened inside disk MHD generator charge, some graphs were drawn linearly through calculation using measured experimental data. For the more, other calculated results which can't be obtained by only experiment are considered in this paper. And these calculated results are compared to experiment data how exactly done the calculation.

  • In this paper, we describe a system that can interact with agents in the virtual space incorporated in the system. This system is constructed by an analysis system for analyzing human gesture and an interact system for interacting with agents in the virtual space using analyzed information. An implemented analysis system for analyzing gesture extracts a head and hands region after taking image sequence of an operator's continuous behavior using CCD cameras. In interact system, we construct the virtual space that exist an avatar which incarnating operator himself, an autonomous object (like a Puppy), and non-autonomous objects which are table, door, window and object. Recognized gesture is transmitted to the avatar in the virtual space, then transit to next state based on state transition diagram. State transition diagram is represented in a graph in which each state represented as node and connect with link. In the virtual space, the agent link an avatar can open and close a window and a door, grab or move an object like a ball, order a puppy to do and respond to the Puppy's behavior as does the puppy.

On Representations of Linear Systems and Analysis for the Meaning of Elimination Method (연립일차방정식의 다양한 표현과 소거법의 의미에 관한 연구)

  • Linear system is a basic subject matter of school mathematics courses. Even though elimination is a useful method to solve linear systems, its fundamental principles were not discussed pedagogically. The purpose of this study is to help the development of mathematical content knowledge on linear systems conceptions. To do this, various representations and translations among them were considered, and in particular, the basic principles for elimination method are analyzed geometrically. Rectangular representation is used to solve word problem treated in numbers of things in elementary mathematics and it is useful as a pre-stage to introduce elimination. Slopes and intercepts of lines associated linear equations are used to obtain the Cramer's formula and this solving method was showing the connection between algebraic and geometric procedures. Strategy deleting variables of linear systems by elementary operations is explored and associated with the movements of lines in the family of lines passing through a fixed point. The development of mathematical content knowledge is expected to enhance pedagogical content knowledges.

  • Image of emotional pleasure or displeasure, tension or emotional division of tranquility in the form of a tree is evaluated by weighting. Emotion Recognition of four compared to the numerical data is measured by brightness. Contrast sensitivity of computing the brightness depending on the value entered 'nuisance' to 'excellent' or 'stress' to 'calm' the emotional changes can give. Calculate the sensitivity of the image regularity of localized computing system can control the future direction of industry on the application of emotion recognition will play a positive role.
