A Study on the Educational Applications of IPTV (IPTV(Internet Protocol Television)의 교육적 활용 방안 연구)

  • With the advent of convergence environment of broadcasting and communication, IPTV has been widely used. It provides services such as information, movie contents and broadcasting with TV through super-highway information networks. The purpose of this study is to suggest its educational applications to overcome the limits existing in the education. For this goal, we sought its concept and characteristic and drew educational implications by analyzing its contents. We also suggested what-if scenarios for its educational applications, considered its possibilities in educational applications and suggested the kinds of teaching-learning utilizing it and its educational applications for the various subjects. Finally, we examined problems which were considered before its applications in the education with the classification of legal, technical and educational problems.

Convergence of Broadcasting and Communication in Home Network using E-PON based Home Gateway (EPON 기반 홈게이트웨이를 이용한 댁내 망에서의 방송통신 융합 서비스)

  • In this paper, we focus on supporting the convergence of broadcasting and communication in home network systems with E-PON based home gateway. We propose a new architecture to provide broadcasting and data services in integrated home network using overlay transport mechanism in access network and If multicast techniques of IGMP and IGMP snooping in home network. We also detail a set of mechanisms and procedures for home broadcasting service through the home gateway system. Our new scheme is composed of three parts: a) an overlay transmission model of video broadcasting signals (satellite and/or cable TV) and Internet data, b) to select a specific video broadcasting channel and to make of the selected video broadcasting stream into IP multicast packets in tuner/conversion module using multiple tuner system and c) to transfer the converted If multicast packets to L2 switch of home gateway's core module and to send them out to target port(s) by L2 multicast using IGMP snooping.

  • In the field of health informatics converging ICT technology and medicine technology, XML-based CCR document make sure the continuity and mobility of the information of patients. When a number of clients access CCR documents, wireless data broadcast that supports any number of clients can be an alternative for the scalability. In this paper, we propose a framework for wireless data broadcast of XML-based CCR documents. We design and implement the framework that can adopt various data scheduling algorithms and indexing schemes for the optimized performances of clients. The implemented framework shows the efficiency with simulations adopting various data scheduling algorithms and indexing schemes.

Active-Passive Ranging Method for Effective Positioning in Massive IoT Environment (대규모 IoT 환경에서의 효과적 측위를 위한 능동적-수동적 거리 추정 기법)

  • With the advancement and proliferation of the Internet of Things (IoT), a wide range of location-based services are being offered, and various ranging methods are being researched to meet the objectives of the required services. Conventional ranging methods involve the direct exchange of signals between tags and anchors to estimate distance, presenting a limitation in efficiently utilizing communication resources in large-scale IoT environments. To overcome these limitations, active-passive ranging methods have been proposed. However, there is a lack of theoretical convergence guarantees against clock drift errors and a detailed analysis of the characteristics of ranging estimation techniques, making it challenging to derive precise positioning results. In this paper, an improved active-passive ranging method that accounts for clock drift errors is proposed for precise positioning in large-scale IoT environments. The simulation results confirmed that the proposed active-passive ranging method can enhance distance estimation performance by up to 94.4% and 14.4%, respectively, compared to the existing active-passive ranging methods.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify trends in T commerce and further propose ways to improve customer data-based services and development models for changes in broadcasting screens with the expansion of IPTV subscribers. Implementing a customized shopping model like mobile through TV media and improving customer satisfaction will reduce customer departures and provide a more convenient shopping environment through large screens. We would like to learn about the current status and problems of T commerce broadcasting and explain some technically validated models (channel-in-channel, AI speaker) and talk about improvement of legal (broadcasting and Internet multimedia business law) constraints.

  • 텔레매틱스는 운전자에게 도로나 교통정보를 자동차 네비게이션 시스템이나 통신 시스템을 통해서 제공해주는 서비스이다. 이러한 서비스는 유비쿼터스와 융합이라는 시대적 패러다임으로 인해 더욱 부각되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 움직이는 차량 또는 이동 가능한 단말에서 멀티미디어 서비스를 가능하게 하는 DMB 기술과 융합된 텔레매틱스 서비스를 설계하고 그 구현 기법을 소개한다. DMB 용 멀티미디어 컨텐츠에 실시간 교통정보를 제공하는 TPEG 컨텐츠를 융합하기 위해서 MPEG-4 시스템에서 TPEG 객체를 인식하도록 서버 및 단말 단을 설계하고 실험 결과를 통해서 DMB 시스템을 기반으로 한 텔레매틱스 서비스가 가능함을 보인다.

  • 정보 통신 기술이 발전함에 따라, 적절한 검증을 거치지 않은 미디어 콘텐츠가 공급되고 소비되는 미디어 소비 환경이 형성되고 있다. 이러한 환경에서는 적절치 않은 미디어 콘텐츠의 유통을 제어 하기 위해 기존의 보안 및 인증 기술을 적용하는데 한계가 있기에 새로운 접근 방법의 고민이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는, 건전한 미디어 콘텐츠 소비환경 조성을 위한 미디어 트러스트(Trust)의 개념을 정립하고, 이를 위한 미디어 트러스트에 영향을 주는 4 가지 트러스트 요소들을 제안한다. 그리고, 제안된 요소들의 유효성을 검증하기 위한 YouTube 데이터의 활용 방안에 대해 기술한다. 이러한 접근 방법을 통해 미디어 소비환경에서의 트러스트 개념에 대한 연구 및 기술개발을 활성화 시키고자 한다.

  • 방송 환경과 인터넷 환경이 융합되고 스마트 TV의 등장에 따라, 사용자는 복잡한 미디어 서비스 환경에 노출되었다. 이로 인해 사용자가 접하는 미디어 콘텐츠의 종류와 데이터의 양은 기하급수 적으로 증가 하고 있다. 웹과 인터넷을 기반으로 하는 정보기술은 모바일 전자 기술의 발달에 따라 데스크탑 이라는 공간적인 한계를 벗어나 유기적인 유비쿼터스 환경으로 변화하고 있으며, 정보 및 콘텐츠의 개념은 웹문서와 텍스트를 넘어서 UCC, 음악, 영화 등의 모바일 멀티미디어 콘텐츠들로까지 빠르게 확장되고 있다. 또한, N-스크린과 IPTV 서비스의 등장은 사용자로 하여금 장소와 시간에 관계없이 미디어를 취득할 수 있는 이득을 제공할 수 있으나 사용자가 선택은 더욱 힘들어 졌다. 방송 통신 융합 단말에서 콘텐츠에 대한 정보를 제공 받기 위해서는 TV-Anytime 인터페이스, MPEG Query Format 인터페이스, OPEN API 등이 사용 가능하다. TV-Anytime 인터페이스는 대용량 저장 장치를 갖는 방송 단말기에서 메타데이터를 제공 및 검색하기 위한 인터페이스를 제공하며, MPEG Query Format 인터페이스는 MPEG-7을 기반으로 하는 메타데이터를 검색하기 위한 인터페이스를 제공한다. 또한, OPEN API는 업체들을 중심으로 공개적으로 제공 되어지는 API로 개방과 참여를 목적으로 한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 사용자의 콘텐츠 사용 정보를 바탕으로 선호 정보를 생성하고, 이를 바탕으로 콘텐츠에 대해서 강화된 정보를 생성하기 위한 서비스를 설계 및 개발한다.

  • Recently, many of people concentrates on the importance of elevator safety system for the elevator accident of traction machine malfunction. Also, IT convergence has enlarged various field for the effort of enhanced traditional industry. In this paper, we define that the safety is to minimize the dangerous factor, then explain the rules of elevator installation. Through the expert's decision we could find out the dangerous factors are poor check, malfunction of amalgamative and user's mistake. We propose the IT convergence managing system for the effective alternative method of elevator safety system.

Compact mobile antenna and near field characterization for Communication Broadcasting Convergence (통방융합용 소형 모바일 안테나 및 근거리장 특성)

  • Motivated by the Communication Broadcasting Convergence service, various technical approaches are being used to develop more efficient antenna models. This paper proposes a compact mobile antenna which is attachable to a cell phone and is applicable for Communication Broadcasting Convergence. In the design of the antennas for mobile handsets, size reduction is a crucial factor. In this paper, the compactness of a loop antenna is realized by bending a folded-dipole. A short planar dipole is transformed to a twice folded dipole and a loop antenna to produce a larger input resistance. The current distribution of the antenna is the same as a loop antenna, and its radiation patterns are omni-directional. We also analyze the performance of the RFID antenna by exploring the current-induced near field radiation patterns using a electro-optic field mapping system.
