Implementation of CoAP Protocol for USN Environment (CoAP 프로토콜 구현과 USN 환경 적용)

  • To manage sensing information such as temperature, humidity and so on efficiently, it is need to use special purpose protocol. In this reason, IETF WG proposed CoAP protocol, and it is on Internet draft. If it is possible to work on a specific protocol, sensor end-nodes and network devices will be managed efficiently. However, end-nodes have restricted resources, it is hard to applying to CoAP protocol directly. In this paper we analyse a CoAP protocol stack for USN. To verify this protocol quickly, at first we implemented CoAP protocol stack over PC environments. After the logical verification, we applied this protocol to the USN environment. To do this, we ported CoAP protocol to Cygwin environment, and proposed solutions for hardware dependencies, and it is verified through experiments.

The Predictive Power of Implied Volatility of Portfolio Return in Korean Stock Market (한국주식시장 내재변동성의 포트폴리오 수익률 예측능력에 관한 연구)

  • Volatility Index is the index that represents future volatility of underlying asset implied in option price and expected value of market that measures the possibility of stock price's change expected by investors. The Korea Exchange announces a volatility Index, VKOSPI, since April, 13, 2009. This paper used daily data from January, 2002 through December, 2008 and tested power of Volatility index for future returns of portfolios sorted by size, book-to-market equity and beta. As a result, VKOSPI has the predictive power to future returns and then VKOSPI may be determinants of returns. Also if beta is included when sorting portfolio, the predictive power of VKOSPI is stronger for future portfolio returns.

A Study on the Development and Evaluation of Partial Design Project for Computer Network Design Course Utilizing Software Simulator (소프트웨어 시뮬레이터를 활용한 네트워크설계 교과목의 요소설계 과제개발 및 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Normally, people think the results of engineering design project can be seen and be touched, however, it's not easy to develop such design subjects at IT related program. This matter turns into an initiative of Seoul Accord corresponding to the Washington Accord. In this paper, an engineering design project is developed from the lecture course that can hardly develop a touchable project due to the lack of expanse or the own characteristics of the course in the IT related program that follows the Washington Accord. An open-ended design project with the pre-defined design components and realistic constraints is developed for the Computer Network Design course. Each team consisted of 2 or 3 students performs the project for more than 5 weeks utilizing a software simulator, the Packet Tracer. In order to analyze the effectiveness, we have used various evaluation tools such as final presentation, peer evaluation, survey results, and mid/final exams. We concluded that the hard and soft skills of students have been improved considerably through the project.

  • 요즘 들어 컴퓨터 처리 능력의 향상에 따라 사이버인프라스트럭처(Cyberinfrastructure)를 이용하는 계산과학이 주목을 받고 있다. 그 중에서도 대용량 데이터의 복잡한 계산과 시뮬레이션을 동반하는 계산화학 연구 분야에서의 컴퓨터 활용은 매우 중요하다. 계산화학을 간단하게 설명하자면 컴퓨터를 이용한 계산을 통하여 이론 화학의 문제를 다루는 화학의 한 분야라고 말할 수 있다. 계산화학 분야의 연구를 위하여 고성능 컴퓨터와 데이터를 처리, 분석하는 계산화학 도구는 이론연구자 및 실험연구자 모두에게 있어 필수적인 요소이다. 더불어 계산화학 연구자간의 협업과 원격지에 있는 사이버인프라스트럭처 자원의 활용을 위해 e-Science 환경에서의 연구 및 교육 환경이 개발되어야 한다. 이에, 본 논문에서는 한국과학기술정보연구원(KISTI)이 보유 및 운영하고 있는 사이버인프라스트럭처(고성능 컴퓨터, 초고속 네트워크)를 기반으로 컴퓨터에 익숙하지 않은 계산화학 관련 연구자 및 전공자들이 인터넷 상에서 계산화학 분야 교육을 받을 수 있는 e-Science 기반 계산화학 교육을 위한 환경을 설계하고자 한다. 이를 위해 1) 세계적으로 유명한 GridChem, CICC, NBCR 웹사이트를 이용하여 발표된 논문을 분석하였으며, 2) 분석된 결과를 가지고 주로 사용되는 계산화학 도구의 통계를 산출하여, 3) 이를 바탕으로 KISTI 사이버인프라스트럭처를 활용한 e-Science 기반 계산화학 교육 환경(e-Chem)을 설계하였다.

An Experimental Study on the Behavior of T-type Modular Composite profiled Beams (T형 모듈단면 합성 프로파일보의 거동에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This study aims to determine the applicability of the previously published T-type modular profile beam in the manner of producing specimens designed specially for the said purpose, determining their bending and shear behaviors depending on the presence of shear reinforcement, and analyzing the results in comparison with the theoretical equation of plastic deformation. The modular profile beam contributes to bending and shear resistance with the addition of the profile to the form function, and enhances the molding performance through the modular concept. The experimental results showed that the TS series specimens with shear reinforcement have bending behaviors superior to those of the T series specimens without shear reinforcement, which suggests that the used shear reinforcement appropriately bears the shear force. However, it was considered that all the specimens except for the T1-1 specimen failed to have adequate bending performance because of the intermodular slipping caused by the shear failure of the bolts. It is expected that further studies on the T-type modular profile beam, in which shear connectors will be considered as a variable,be performed to develop optimal intermodular connection methods.

  • By comparing the development history of rectangular coordinate system in Cartography and Mathematics, we assert in this manuscript that the rectangular coordinate system is not so much related to analytic geometry but comes from the space perceiving ability inherent in human beings. We arrived at this conclusion by the followings: First, although the Cartography have much influenced to various area of Mathematics such as trigonometry, logarithm, Geometry, Calculus, Statistics, and so on, which were developed or progressed around the advent of analytic geometry, the mathematical coordinate system itself had not been completely developed in using the origin or negative axis until 100 years and more had passed since Descartes' publication. Second, almost mathematicians who contributed to the invention of rectangular coordinate system had not focused their studying on rectangular coordinate system instead they used it freely on solving mathematical problem.

  • Runtime Intrusion Prevention Evaluator (RIPE), published in 2011, is a benchmark suite for evaluating mitigation techniques against 850 attack patterns using only buffer overflow. Since RIPE is built as a single process, defense and attack routines cannot help sharing process states and address space layouts when RIPE is tested. As a result, attack routines can access the memory space for defense routines without restriction. We separate RIPE into two independent processes of defense and attacks so that mitigations based on confidentiality such as address space layout randomization are properly evaluated. In addition, we add an execution mode to test robustness against brute force attacks. Finally, we extend RIPE by adding 38 attack forms to perform format string attacks and virtual table (vtable) hijacking attacks. The revised RIPE contributes to the diversification of attack patterns and precise evaluation of the effectiveness of mitigations.

  • 저영향개발(Low Impact Development, LID) 시설들은 미국 일본 등 선진국을 중심으로 관련법에 따라 개발 및 적용 되어왔으나 국내에서는 최근에서야 LID 시설을 적용할 수 있는 제도적인 틀을 구축하고 있는 실정이며, 국내 여건에 맞는 LID 시설을 개발하여 그 효용성을 검증하기 까지는 상당한 시간이 소요될 것으로 판단된다. 서울시는 2014년 '서울특별시 빗물관리에 관한 조례 전부개정조례'를 발표함으로써 한국형 LID 시설을 대단위로 적용 하고 검증 할 수 있는 발판을 마련하였다. 서울시의 2014년 전부개정조례에 따르면 시장 및 구청장은 저영향개발 계획 수립의 실효성 확보를 위하여 저영항개발 사전협의 제도를 마련하여 시행하여야 하며, 시장은 저영향개발 지구단위계획을 수립하여야 한다. 이에 따라, 본 연구에서는 실제로 적용 가능한 투수포장 주차장을 설계 할 수 있도록 투수 주차장형 LID 시설을 검증할 수 있는 투수효율성 검증실험단지를 설계 및 구축 하였다. 과거 도심의 우수배제는 중앙 집중형 시스템으로 단기간에 우수를 차집하여 배제하는 방식이었으나, 근래에는 집중형 우수배제 시스템의 위험성, 경제성 그리고 용량한계 등 여러 가지 문제점이 부각되면서 분산형 시스템으로의 전환이 이루어지고 있다. 물순환도시 및 지속가능한 도시 등이 분산형 우수배제 시스템의 예이며, 주차장, 도로, 건물 등 불투수 표면으로부터의 우수를 지면으로 침투 및 침루시키는 방법 등을 활용하여 건전한 물순환을 꾀하고 있다. 침투 및 침루 능력은 각각 포장체 및 포장면 하부구조의 재료와 밀접한 관련이 있으며 재료의 선정은 하부구조의 안정성 확보를 고려하여 선택되어야 한다. 또한 우수 배제를 위한 유공관은 접합점에서 강도를 유지하면서 효율적으로 유수를 배제할 수 있어야 하며, 저류조 설치는 강수의 활용목적에 맞게 선정되어야 한다. 이러한 투수 주차장형 LID 시설은 하나의 시스템으로서 포장체의 재료에 따른 공학적 성질, 하부구조 구축방법 및 재료 선정 그리고 유공관 배열 등에 따라 그 시스템의 거동이 변화하므로 기존에 행해왔던 단순 재료실험으로는 투수성 주차장의 우수배제 시스템을 평가할 수 없다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이를 검증할 수 있는 투수효율성 검증실험단지 설계 및 구축하였다.

Chinese Undergraduates' Perception of the Integration of Chinese Minority Culture in EFL Classes (중국 대학생들의 EFL 수업에서 중국 소수민족 문화 통합에 대한 인식)

  • This study was conducted to investigate students' perception of the integration of Chinese ethnic minority culture into the college EFL teaching which was carried out in the fall and spring semesters with different presentation topics. One and the same questionnaire was distributed to 61 participants, involving Han Chinese and Chinese ethnic minority students, at a university in ethnic minority area in China at the end of each semester, and SPSS 20.0 was used for t-test to analyze the data. The research results showed that Chinese undergraduates have got more significant improvements in cultural cognition, emotions, attitudes, and multi-cultural values in the spring semester than those in the fall semester. All participants benefit a lot from multi-cultural activities without significant differences between Han Chinese and ethnic minority students in both semesters. It is suggested that ethnic minority culture be integrated into the college EFL teaching, along with English culture and Chinese mainstream culture, which be administered as a practical teaching mode to develop students' intercultural competence.

Validity and Reliability of the Perceived Elderly Stigma Scale and the Relationships between the Stigma and Demographic Factors (지각된 노인 낙인 척도의 타당도 검증 및 인구통계학적 특징에 따른 낙인 인식)

  • This study examined the validity and the reliability of the perceived elderly stigma scale. Moreover, we investigated the relationships between the perceived elderly stigma and demographic factors (age, gender, education, and income). The initial scale consisted of 5 factors (ability, personality, appearance, authoritarian dependency, and child-obsession) and 28 items. In order to test the validity and the reliability of the scale, this study conducted a survey with 693 adults aged 18 to 65. Based on the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), the scale was modified to 5 factors (ability, personality, appearance, authoritarian dependency, and child-obsession) and 15 items and its convergent validity and discriminant validity were confirmed. In terms of the relationships between the perceived elderly stigma and demographic factors, age had a negative relationship with the "ability" stigma, and education was a negatively associated with the "appearance" stigma.
