An Relational Analysis between Humidity, Temperature and Fire Occurrence using Public Data (공공데이터를 이용한 습도 및 온도와 실화 발생 간의 관계분석)

  • According to recent government's 3.0 operating paradigm for the opening and sharing of public information, relationship between humidity, temperature and fire occurrence were analyzed using the data in National Weather Service and National Emergency Management Agency. In order to analyze the relationships between humidity, temperature and fire occurrence, hourly frequency of fire occurrence compared with humidity and temperature ranges was suggested as an analysis method. Tendencies of fire occurrence frequencies were examined through this and characteristics of detailed attributes could be statistically identified. Results about hourly frequencies of fire occurrence by classifying the humidity ranges in each region showed increasing frequencies in all areas where the humidity is lower. Hourly frequencies of fire occurrence according to temperature ranges were identified to be similar in each area as well. In addition, characteristics of objects' attributes were analyzed including types of fire, igniting source of fire, initial complex, reasons of fire occurrence, and distinctive directions were suggested. Suggested method in this paper could be practically used when suggesting the frequency in each category in fire occurrence statistics of National Fire Information System.

Downscaling Technique of Monthly GCM Using Daily Precipitation Generator (일 강수발생모형을 이용한 월 단위 GCM의 축소기법에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes the evaluation technique for climate change effect on daily precipitation frequency using daily precipitation generator that can use outputs of the climate model offered by IPCC DDC. Seoul station of KMA was selected as a study site. This study developed daily precipitation generation model based on two-state markov chain model which have transition probability, scale parameter, and shape parameter of Gamma-2 distribution. Each parameters were estimated from regression analysis between mentioned parameters and monthly total precipitation. Then the regression equations were applied for computing 4 parameters equal to monthly total precipitation downscaled by K-NN to generate daily precipitation considering climate change. A2 scenario of the BCM2 model was projected based on 20c3m(20th Century climate) scenario and difference of daily rainfall frequency was added to the observed rainfall frequency. Gumbel distribution function was used as a probability density function and parameters were estimated using probability weighted moments method for frequency analysis. As a result, there is a small decrease in 2020s and rainfall frequencies of 2050s, 2080s are little bit increased.

  • 기후변화로 인하여 극한 홍수와 극한 가뭄 발생이 증가할 것으로 전망하고 있어 이에 대한 위험이 대두되고 있는 실정이다. 홍수 및 가뭄 수문시계열의 빈도해석시에 일반적으로 활용되는 정상성 빈도해석기법은 수문자료의 정상성을 기반으로 한 빈도해석이 대부분이기 때문에 기후변화 및 수문자료의 비정상성을 반영한 새로운 빈도해석 기법이 요구되고 있는 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 5개의 대표 관측지점(서울, 포항, 추풍령, 여수, 광주)를 선별하고 1976년부터 2015년까지 일강우자료를 활용하여 기상학적 가뭄지수인 SPI(Standardized Precipitation Index)를 산정하였다. 산정한 SPI의 경향성을 Mann-Kendall 분석을 하였으며, 정상성 및 비정상성 빈도해석을 위하여 최적확률분포로 선정된 GEV 분포 적용하였다. 본 연구에서는 가뭄빈도해석을 위하여 SPI를 입력자료로 활용하였으며, 산정된 SPI의 비정상성을 반영한 비정상성 빈도해석의 경우 Bayesian 모형을 기반으로 한 MCMC(Markov Chain Monte Carlo) 모의를 이용하여 극치분포의 사후분포 매개변수를 추정하였다. 추정 값을 바탕으로 하여 가뭄의 관측소별 빈도해석을 실시하였고 재현기간별-지속기간별 가뭄심도를 추정하여 관측소별 가뭄심도-지속기간-빈도(SDF,Severity-Duration-Frequency) 곡선을 유도하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 정상성과 비정상성 빈도해석 결과의 비교연구를 수행하였으며 기후변화에 따른 비정상 시계열로 구성된 가뭄빈도해석에 매우 유용하게 적용될 수 있을 것으로 나타났다.

  • 지역 빈도 분석과 점 빈도 분석은 하천 기본계획 및 수공 구조물의 설계에 있어 재현기간 별 확률강우량을 산정하기 위한 방법이다. 점 빈도 분석은 자료의 수가 부족하여 높은 재현기간에 대한 확률강우량을 산정하기에 어려운 점이 있다. 2019년도부터 사용되고 있는 지역빈도분석 방법은 이러한 점을 보완해주고 있다. 지역빈도분석을 수행하기 위해서는 지역의 동질성을 확인하는 과정이 가장 중요한 과정이다. 이러한 동질성을 판단하기 위하여 K-means등의 군집분석과 L-moment 법 등을 사용하고 있다. 이러한 차이점으로 인해 두 방법 간의 정확성은 비교가 어려우나 서로 간의 장점, 단점과 결과 간의 차이를 기반으로 산간지역이 많은 강원도와 같은 지역에 대한 확률강우량 산정의 적절한 방법을 판단해보고자 본 연구를 진행하였다. 지역 빈도 분석은 강원도에 위치한 48개 관측소의 강우 자료 수집 후 고도, 위치, 지속시간 별 강우량을 변수로 지정하고 K-means 분석을 통해 6개의 군집으로 구분하여 수행되었다. 이질성 척도는 관측 자료와 500번의 모의 수행을 통해 결정하였다. 이후 분석된 군집이 동질한 경우 확률분포형에 적합시켜 확률강우량을 산정하였다. 점 빈도 분석은 지역 빈도 분석에서 결정된 군집에서의 최대 강우량과 최소 강우량 관측소의 자료를 이용하여 수행하였다. 본 연구에서는 점빈도분석과 지역빈도분석의 결과를 비교하였으며, 두 가지 분석 방법에 따른 차이의 발생원인 및 특성을 결론으로 제시하였다.

GIS-based Analysis of Debris-flow Characteristics in Gangwon-do (GIS를 이용한 강원지역 토석류 특성분석)

  • In Korea, there are debris-flow disasters induced by typhoon and localized torrential rainfall annually. There are particularly extensive debris-flow disasters in Gangwon-do because of its geomorphological characteristics; the extensive coverage of mountainous region, steep slope, and shallow soil. In this paper, we constructed a GIS database about topological characteristics of debris-flow basin in Gangwon-do by years of field survey. Also, we conducted frequency analysis based on this database with the digital forest type map and the digital soil map. We analyzed frequencies of debris-flow by simple count for topological characteristics, whereas we analyzed by considering an area ratio based on GIS for physiognomic and geologic characteristics. We used slope, aspect, width, depth and destruction shapes for analysis about topological characteristics of debris-flow basin. Also we used attributes of forest physiognomy, diameter, age, and density about physiognomic characteristics, and i n terms of geologic characteristics, we used attributes of drainage class, effective soil depth, subsoil properties, subsoil grave content, erosion class, parent material of soil, and topsoil properties. In consequence, we figured out topographic, forest physiognomic, and geologic characteristics of debris-flow basin. This result is applicable to establish a rational disaster prevention policy as a fundamental information.

Spatio-Temporal Analysis of Forest Fire Occurrences during the Dry Season between 1990s and 2000s in South Korea (1990년대와 2000년대 건조계절의 산불발생 시공간 변화 분석)

  • For the period between 1991 and 2009, the annual average of 448 forest fires occurred in Korea. Above all, approximately 94% of the total fires frequently occurred during the spring and fall seasons. Therefore, we need to minimize the damage of forest fire and manage them systematically. In this study, we analyzed the spatio-temporal distribution patterns for the frequency of forest fire occurrences by each city and gun during dry season between 1990s and 2000s using GIS. Then we compared to analyze the frequency of forest fire occurrence by ten-day intervals in 2000s with that in 1990s. As a result of analysis, early April showed the highest frequency of forest fire occurrence in both 1990s and 2000s. Compared to the 1990s and 2000s, the regional change of forest fire showed the most frequent fire events around Chungcheong province. Especially extra 27 fires increased in Daejeon city, and the second most frequent fire had more than 10 fires in Jeolla province and Incheon. However, the number of fire frequency decreased by 12 fires at the end of April in Hongcheon-gun(the province of Gangwon). This is the largest drop over the study period. We consider that this paper will utilize usefully to establish regional counterplan for forest fire prevention by understanding regional forest fire patterns from seasonal change.

A study for headaches and backaches occurrence after diagnostic lumbar puncture in children (소아에서 척수액 검사 후 발생하는 두통과 요통에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose : Our goals were to determine the frequency of headaches and backaches occurring as a side effect following lumbar puncture in children, and to investigate various factors that might influence the frequency of headaches and backaches. Methods : From October 2004 to February 2006, we enrolled 148 patients aged 2 to 15 years who received diagnostic lumbar puncture at the Presbyterian Medical Center, Chonju, Korea. Patient data were collected for age, sex, number of puncture attempts, volume of cerebrospinal fluid(CSF), bevel orientation of puncture needle, cell count in CSF, periods of absolute bed rest, and the frequency and duration of headaches and backaches. Results : Headaches occurred in 8 patients and backaches occurred in 40 patients. Headaches were found both to occur significantly more frequently in patients over age 10 and to last longer when the bevel orientation of the puncture needle was inserted toward the cranium rather than laterally. Backaches lasted longer in males than in females. The other factors evaluated showed no relationship at all to the frequency and duration of headaches and backaches. Conclusion : Following lumbar puncture, headaches were common in patients over age 10, and lasted longer when the bevel orientation was toward the cranium. Backaches lasted longer in males than in females. In light of these findings, we recommend taking special care when performing lumbar puncture for CSF examination in patients over age 10.

A Survey Study on the Frequency of Occurrence of the Female Disease in the Pelvis using Sonography (초음파검사에서 여성 골반내 질환별 발생빈도 조사연구)

  • This study was performed for the purpose of providing basic data of the pelvic disorders through survey of the frequency of management of occurrence by major risk factor. Female pelvic mass was detected using sonography, and necessary data were collected from 604 female visitors to a obstetrics and gynecology hospital located at S-si. Female pelvic mass was uterus mass, ovarian mass, cervical cyst, endometrial disease. For the analysis, such variables as age, weight and frequency of pregnancy were chosen as risk factors. Results of the analysis and conclusions are as follows ; 1) The frequency of occurrence of the female pelvic mass is highest, as 38.9% of the component ratio, in the age of 35 to 54. It maintains high level of 35.8% even in the age of 55 and above. 2) The frequency of occurrence of the female pelvic mass increases in proportion as the weight and frequency of pregnancy increase. 3) The size of the uterus tumor has no statistical relationship with the risk factors, age, weight and frequency of pregnancy.

Incidence of congenital heart disease in the western part of Gyeongnam Province in Korea (서부경남 지역의 선천성 심질환의 발생 빈도)

  • Purpose : The objective of this study was to ascertain the incidence of congenital heart disease in the western part of Gyeongnam Province in Korea. Methods : We enrolled 849 children (M:F=390:459) who were diagnosed with congenital heart disease (CHD) and received echocardiography during January 1997 to December 2005 in Gyeongsang National University Hospital. The subjects were limited to patients born from 1997 to 2004. The CHDs were classified into acyanotic types and cyanotic type. Further, acyanotic type CHDs were divided into shunt type and valvular types. Results : Numbers of initially diagnosed patients from 1997 to 2004 were as follows: 113, 128, 116, 104, 129, 97, 84, and 78. The median age of initially diagnosed CHD patients was 1 month in the acyanotic type and 0.5 months in cyanotic type. Also, an annual frequency among CHD types and gender ratio were no significant difference in every year. Incidences of CHD from 2000 to 2004 in the western part of Gyeongnam Province were 8.9, 12.7, 10.9, 10.0, and 9.7 per 1,000 live births, respectively. Conclusion : From 1997 to 2001, 100-130, and from 2002 to 2004, less than 100 patients were diagnosed with CHD. This showed a decrease in the numbers of CHD patients in the last three years. However, the Incidence of CHD was 0.89-1.24% during the last five years. Therefore, the decrease in the annual frequency of CHD was due to the recent decline in birth rate in Korea.

The Study on the Analysis of Marine Accidents and Preventive Measures (해양사고의 분석과 방지대책에 관한 연구)

  • I have been analyzed the marine accidents during 10years(1992~2001) based on the maritime inquire court decision, the results were as follows: 1. The rate of accident occuring were showed fishing boat(69.9%), freighter(12.3%), tanker(4.3%), tug boat(3.8%), passenger boat(2.1%) by the usage. 2. The marine accident had been showed operational fault(67.3%), mishandling of engine equipment(21.7%), meteorological condition, etc(11%) by the reason, most accidents had been occured by the operator fault and rack of experience. 3. The marine accidents had been showed damage of hull and engine(27.5%), collision(24%), foundering(11.3%), fire(3.9%), agrounding(10%), by the kind of accidents. 4. The accidents had been occured (74.6%) at the coastal sea, harbour and (25.4%) at the open sea by the sectors. The accidents of the vessel less than 500ton were much increased (54.3%) also, The accidents were much occured at the time between 0400~0800 hours by the time.
