Van Fraassen on Empirical Equivalence Argument and Interpretations of Space-time (반 프라쎈의 경험동등성 논변과 시공간에 대한 해석)

  • This essay criticizes Van Fraassen's argument for empirical equivalence among competing theories, which is based on his interpretation of Newtonian space-time. I argue that his misleading interpretation of the ontology of absolute space-time results in his ineffective attacks against a residual structure of space-time, absolute velocity. Van Fraassen's argument basically misleads us into empirical equivalence in that his literal reading of Newtonian space-time disregards a variety of aspects of its model.

  • Some games distract the player's immersion on purpose through the progression and direction of the game, thereby giving them an opportunity for rational awareness. In this paper, we tried to analyze the characteristics and types of alienation strategies of digital games. So we investigated the anti-immersive property of the game with the effect of Brecht 's alienation and proposed three strategic types of digital games that cause the anti-immersive effect into 'disturbance of sensory information', 'reversal of narrative and overturning of genre' and 'limitation of experience'.

Determination of Resistance Coefficients Using Field Measurements in Natural Rivers (자연하천 현장자료를 이용한 저항계수의 결정)

  • This study is derived relationships of the resistance coefficients of Darcy-Weisbach and Manning for flow resistance and the dimensionless velocity using many field measurements for 1,875 rivers consist of sand 179, gravel 992, cobble 651 and boulder 53 channels in natural rivers, respectively. The relationships of power law forms are developed as a function of flow discharge, friction slope, and relative submergence by the regression and the semi-empirical method. The measurements distribution of Manning resistance coefficients by the Box-Whisker Plots show the values which ranges from 0.004~0.151 for sand, 0.008~0.250 for gravel, 0.015~0.327 for cobble, 0.023~0.444 for boulder in natural rivers, respectively. Relationships of these semi-empirical and resistance coefficients will be useful to give information in hydraulic engineering.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of science-based STEAM program on the positive science experience of elementary school students. The participants of this study were 64 fourth graders of S elementary school located in Gyeonggi-do. They were divided into the experimental group of 30 students and the comparative group of 34 students. The program was reorganized into the STEAM program, which emphasized communication with students in the second semester of 4th grade, centered on 'Earth and Moon' unit which were carried out in total 16 times. The experimental group was giving the science-centered STEAM program, and the comparative group was giving the general instruction model based on the instructional book guidelines. The results of the study are as follows. The science-centered STEAM program showed a further influence on the positive science experience of elementary school students. Based on these results, it can be confirmed that the class using the science-centered STEAM program positively influenced the improvement of students' positive science experience.

Effects of Teaching Communication with Small Group Cooperative learning on Mathematics Learning Abilities (소집단 협동 학습을 통한 의사 소통 지도가 수학 학습 능력에 미치는 효과)

  • This study aims at checking up influences imposed on mathematics learning abilities in communication teaching through small group leaning for the sixth grade pupils of elementary schools. Results obtained through the study are as follow: The communication teaching through small group cooperative learning showed an affirmative reaction in terms of mathematics learning achievement degree and mathematical tendency. However, the pupils of the lower group showed a meager effect in terms of mathematics learning achievement degree. It means that such an effect is required to a sustained teaching for a long time by teachers.

  • This research aims to examine the relationship between the overseas Koreans' return visit for the participation in the National Sports Festival(NSF) and transnational identity negotiation. The subjects for this study were 378 overseas Koreans who took part in the 96th NSF in 2015. The results are as follows; First, the higher the motivation for socializing with others, maintaining a national identity and self-realization, the more the positive experience in the NSF. However, the higher the motivation for releasing stress and helping business, the more the negative experience they have in the NSF. Second, while the higher the motivation for releasing stress and helping business, the stronger the identity with settlement. However, the higher the motivation for maintaining a national identity, the stronger the identity with origin. Third, while the more the negative experience in the NSF, the stronger the identity with settlement. However, the less the negative experience in the NSF, the stronger the identity with origin.

  • 브랜드 이미지가 마케팅에 미치는 영향이 커지면서 기업은 브랜드 가치 형성을 위해 온/오프라인 PR활동과 함께 브랜드 웹사이트를 적극적으로 활용하고 있다. 또한 학계와 관련 업계에서는 소비자들의 웹사이트의 이용 경험이 브랜드이미지 형성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 많은 연구를 진행해 왔다. 그러나 이와 반대로 웹사이트의 평가에 있어서 선 경험된 브랜드 이미지가 사이트의 평가에 영향을 미칠 수 있음에 대해서는 거의 연구되지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 브랜드 인지도와 브랜드 이미지를 통해 형성되는 브랜드 충성도-특히, 감정적 브랜드 충성도(Affective brand loyalty)-가 웹사이트의 사용자 경험에 있어서 디자인과 인터랙션디자인에 대한 감정적 평가에 미치는 영향에 대해 조사하였다. 이를 위하여 중국의 대학생, 대학원생 70인을 대상으로 중국에서 판매되고 있는 자동차 브랜드 8개를 선정하여 브랜드 충성도와 웹사이트의 사용자경험 평가에 대한 상관관계를 조사하였다.

The Influences of Experiences of Productive Failures on Mathematical Problem Solving Abilities and Mathematical Dispositions (문제해결에서 생산적 실패의 경험이 초등학생의 수학적 문제해결력 및 수학적 성향에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the experiences of productive failures on students' mathematical problem solving abilities and mathematical dispositions. The experiment was conducted with two groups. The treatment group was applied with the productive mathematics failure program, and the comparative group was taught with traditional mathematics lessons. In this study, for quantitative analysis, the students were tested their understanding of mathematical concepts, mathematical reasoning abilities, students' various strategies and mathematical dispositions before and after using the program. For qualitative analysis, the researchers analyzed the discussion processes of the students, students's activity worksheets, and conducted interviews with selected students. The results showed the followings. First, use of productive failures showed students' enhancement in problem solving abilities. Second, the students who experienced productive failures positively affected the changes in students' mathematical dispositions. Along with the more detailed research on productive mathematical failures, the research results should be included in the development of mathematics textbooks and teaching and learning mathematics.

The convergence study on the Sexual life Experience of Rectal Cancer Men (직장암 남성의 성생활 경험에 관한 융합적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the sex life of men with rectal cancer. Participants were 8 males who were treated with rectal cancer and analyzed semi-structured questionnaire by Downe-Wamboldt's content analysis method(Step 8). As a result of the analysis, three categories and nine subcategories were derived: Physical difficulty, Psychological difficulty, Mutual role difficulty. Thus, men treated with rectal cancer experience physical, psychological, and interrelated difficulties related to sex. This study was meaningful in that it revealed the experience related to sexual experience of men with rectal cancer and could be used as useful data for the development of sex - related programs.

  • 전체주의가 반세기의 일본군사적 파시즘밖에 경험한 것이 없는 우리가 권위주의적 독재를 자유민주주의로 오인하게 됐다면 이상할 것도 없지요. 자유와 자유민주주의란 말은 독재와 부패, 무능에 일치하여 혐오와 경멸의 대상이 된 겁니다. 자유는 우리에게 더욱 절실한 가치이니만큼 그것이 왜 얼마나 중요하면 평등 정의와 어떤 관계에 있는지 진지한 논의가 제기돼야 합니다.
