The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics of classroom culture in a toddler class of 2 year olds. Data was collected through 16 sessions of non-participatory observations and teacher interviews of toddlers in H daycare center. Collected data was carefully read and categorized accordingly to fit the theme of this qualitative study. Data analysis yielded four conclusions regarding the toddlers' classroom culture: behavior to advance together as a group, communicating through body language, complete reliance and responses towards the instructor, and a dichotomy between disintegration and integration. The result of this study suggests a need for instructor's proper guidance and establishing an appropriate childcare environment, as well as a reconsideration regarding toddlers as a host of the classroom culture, to increase the understanding of toddler's interactions in classrooms and social trends.
This study tried to investigate the differences between auditory preferences for a discrimination study of minimal pairs with the different onset and the same nucleus of a syllable on the basis of articulator-distance in case of Korean infants and toddlers. As a result we found a main effect for articulator-distance and age but not an effect according to the types of phonation especially in terms of tense. Former results are line with the previous studies having reported the order of consonants acquisition based on the places of articulation suggesting that more sensitive responses for the contiguous and different phonemes may lead earlier acquisition for the same place of articulation of the speech sounds. Specifically, bilabial soudns are followed by alveolar and palatal sounds in order. The latter results also showed that tense consonants got a high rate of recognition beside lax consonants according to the age and sex.
The oxo-nitrosyl complexes (n-Bu4N)2[M4O12Mo(NO)2{RC(NH2)NHO}2{RC(NH)NO}2] (M=Mo, W; R=(CH3)2CH, n-CH3CH2CH2) have been prepared by the reactions of monomeric complex containing {Mo(NO)2}2+ and polyoxometalates with isobutyl- and n-butylamidoxime. The prepared complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, infrared, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and UV-visible spectroscopy. These complexes contain two {M2O5}2+ [M=Mo, W] cores and a central {Mo(NO)2}2+ core. The {Mo(NO)2}2+ unit was the formally cis type and C2v symmetry in geometric structure. The two {M2O5}2+ cores and a central {Mo(NO)2}2+ core were not nearly interacted with electronic localization, which were identified by spectroscopy.

The present work was undertaken to investigated the purification and characterization of polyphenol oxidase (PPO ; EC 1.10.3.1) in sweet potato, particularly the number of PPO isozymes, and PPO properties such as pH optimum, heat stability, substrate specificity, kinetics, and inhibitor studies. The purification achieved was 23.1 fold from crude extract with a yield of 41.5%. Eight PPO isozymes and twelve PPO isozymes were detected by disc polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and isoelectric focusing, respectively. The specific activity of each isozyme separated by isoelectric focusing was in the range of $6,000{\sim}46,700U/mg$. This enzyme was sweet below $65^{\circ}C$ and the pH optimum of PPO occurred at 6.0-6.5. The substrate specificity of sweet potato PPO showed the high affinity toward the odiphenolic compounds. Km and Vmax for catechol were found to be 6.7 mM and $20{\triangle}A/min$, me protein, respectively. Inhibitor studies indicated that dithiothreitol was the most potent among the inhibitors used in the present work.
Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous motors (IPMSM) with concentrated winding are superior to distributed winding in the power density point of view. But it causes huge amount of eddy current losses on the permanent magnet. This paper presents the optimal permanent magnet V-shape on the rotor of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor to reduce the core losses and improve the performance. Each eddy current loss on permanent magnet has been investigated in detail by using FEM (Finite Element Method) instead of equivalent magnetic circuit network method in order to consider saturation and non-linear magnetic property. Simulation-based design of experiment is also applied to avoid large number of analyses according to each design parameter and consider expected interactions among parameters. Consequently, the optimal design to reduce the core loss on the permanent magnet while maintaining or improving motor performance is proposed by an optimization algorithm using regression equation derived and lastly, it is verified by FEM.

Bombyx mori silk fibroin/hyaluronic acid blend films were prepared by mixing aqueous solution of B. mori silk fibroin and hyaluronic acid. According to the FTIR spectra, no interaction between silk fibroin and hyaluronic acid was found. The conformation of silk fibroin in blend films was changed from random coil to $\beta$-sheet structure by treatment of EDC ethanol solution. Thermal degradation peak of silk fibroin and hyaluronic acid was also not altered by blending each other. The average swelling ratio of silk fibroin/hyaluronic acid blend films was 70. Therefore, silk fibroin/hyaluronic acid blend films might be one of possible wound dressing materials.

Proton conductive hybrid nanocomposite polymer electrolyte membranes comprising polystyrene-5-poly (hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PS-b-PHEMA), sulfosuccinic acid (SA) and phosphotungstic acid (PWA) were prepared by varying PWA concentrations. The PHEMA block was thermally crosslinked by SA via the esterification reaction between -OH of PHEMA and -COOH of SA. Upon the incorporation of PWA into the diblock copolymer, the symmetric stretching bands of the $SO_3^-$ group at $1187cm^{-1}$ shifted to a lower wavenumber at $1158cm^{-1}$, demonstrating that the PWA particles strongly interact with the sulfonic acid groups of SA. When the concentration of PWA was increased to 30wt%, the proton conductivity of the composite membrane at room temperature increased from 0.045 to 0.062 S/cm, presumably due to the intrinsic conductivity of the PWA particles and the enhanced acidity of the sulfonic acid in the membranes. The membrane containing 30wt% of PWA exhibited a proton conductivity of 0.126 S/cm at $100^{\circ}C$. Thermal stability of the composite membranes was also enhanced by introducing PWA nanoparticles.
The tungsten oxo-nitrosyl complexes (n-Bu4N)2[W5O12(NO)2{RC(NH2)NHO}2{RC(NH)NO}2] (R=(CH3)2CH, CH3CH2CH2, CH3SCH2) have been synthesized by the reactions of polyoxotungsten complex (n-Bu4N)2[W6O19] and tungsten dinitrosyl monomeric complex [W(NO)2(acac)(CH3CN)2](BF4) with butylamidoxime derivatives. The prepared complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, infrared, UV-visible, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The pentanuclear species was formed by the interaction of the electron-withdrawing {W(NO)2}2+ unit between the two dinuclear tungsten {W2O5}2+ cores. We can estimate to exist large proton interactions viewed from the four doublet in 1H NMR spectrum of (n-Bu4N)2[W5O12(NO)2{(CH3)2CHC(NH2)NHO}2{(CH3)2CHC(NH)NO}2]. We also drew informations of the two different coordination mode and symmetry of the complexes because two ligands appear in 13C NMR spectra instead of four. The {W(NO)2}2+ unit has been cis-form and C2v symmetry in geometric structure.
The developments of various processed foods and the high quality dried fruits, in particular, are urgently needed for the enhancement of fruit consumption and their competitive values. Therefore, in this study, three variables by three level factorial design and response surface methodology were used to determine optimum conditions for osmotic dehydration of kiwifruit. The relationships of moisture losses, solid gains, weight reductions, sugar contents, titratable acidities and vitamin C contents depending on changes with temperature, sugar concentration and immersion time were investigated. The moisture loss, solid gain, weight reduction and reduction of moisture content after osmotic dehydration were increased as temperature, sugar concentration and immersion time increased. The effect of concentration was more significant than those of temperature and time on mass transfer. Sugar content was increased by increasing sugar concentration, temperature, immersion time during osmotic dehydration. Titratable acidity and vitamin C content were increased by decreasing temperature, immersion time and increasing concentration during osmotic dehydration. The regression models showed a significant lack of fit (P>0.05) and were highly significant with satisfying values of $R^2$. At the given conditions such as $66{\sim}69%$ moisture content, above $24^{\circ}Brix$ sugar content and more than 23 mg% vitamin C, the optimum condition for osmotic dehydration was $37^{\circ}C,\;55^{\circ}Brix$ and 1.5 hour.

The effect of gibberellic acid ($GA_3) and abscisic acid (ABA) on KCl-enhanced proteolysis of senescing leaves of rice(Oryza sativa L. cv. Chilsung) was studied. Emphasis was given to their effects on KCI-enhanced efflux of amino acids and proteinase activity. When treated singly, $GA_3 affected leaf proteolysis little, while ABA increased proteolysis, the rate of amino acid efflux, and ribulose -1,5 -bisphosphate carboxylase / oxygenase (Rubisco)-degrading endoproteinase activity. An additive increase in all three parameters mentioned above was observed when leaves were treated with ABA and KCl. No such an additive effect was found when $GA_3 was treated with KCl. Both $GA_3 and ABA helped to alleviate the KCI-suppressed activity of Rubisco-degrading exoproteinases. The additive increase in proteolysis of rice leaves in the presence of both ABA and KCl could thus be ascribed to a further increase in the efflux of protein hydrolyzates and Rubisco-degrading endoproteinase activity. An increase in proteolysis was accompanied by a decrease in water absorption, and the combined treatment of ABA with KCl resulted in a further reduction of water absorption.
