A Three-Dimensional Zinc-Phosphate Coordination Polymer: Hydrothermal Synthesis and Structure of $Zn_3(PO_4)_2(H_2O)$ (3차원 Zinc-Phosphate 배위 고분자: $Zn_3(PO_4)_2(H_2O)$의 수열합성 및 구조)

  • The hydrothermal reaction between zinc(II) nitrate Zn₃(PO₄)₂(H₂O) and potassium phosphate dibasic (K₂HPO₄) in the presence of pyrazine gave a three-dimensional zinc-phosphate coordination polymer with an empirical formula of Zn₃(PO₄)₂(H₂O) (1). Compound 1 was characterized by IR spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. Crystallographic data for 1: monoclinic space group. P2₁/c, a=8.970(1)Å, b=4.901(1)Å, c=16.759(3)Å, β=94.98(2)°, Z=4, R(wR₂)=0.0332(0.0927).

  • Re(≡NC6H5)(PPh3)2CI3, I, reacted with, 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane (DPPE) to give fac-Re(≡NC6H5)(DPPE)CI3, II. The product has been characterized by 1H-NMR, elemental analysis, and X-ray crystallography. II Crystalizes in the monoclinic space group Pc, with cell parameters a=11.083(3)Å, b=10.930(1)Å, c=14.081(2)Å, β=108.37(2)°, Z=2. Least-squares refinement of the structure led to a R(wR2)factor of 0.0254(0.0607) for 2888 unique reflections of I>2σ(I) and for 352 variables.

  • Reaction of Re(O)(PPh3)2Cl3,I, with 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluoroaniline (C6F5NH2), produced Re(NC6F5)(PPh3)2Cl3, II. The product has been characterized by 1H-NMR, elemental analysis, and X-ray diffraction. II crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group Pna21 with cell parameters a=18.763Å, b=14.737(2)Å, c=16.707(3)Å, Z=4. Least-square refinement of the structure led to an R(wR2)factor of 0.0455(0.1148) for 3319 unique reflections of I > 2σ(I) and for 174 variables.

  • Several microorganisms capable of producing protopectinase, which catalyzes dissociation of plant tissue to single cells, were isolated from soils. Crude enzymes prepared from culture supernatants of the strains released potato cells as a single cell from potato tissues. One of the isolated strains showing higher activity of protopectinase was selected and identified as Rhizopus sp. from the morphological characteristics. For preparing single cells from potato tissues, optimum enzyme activity of protopectinase, which was prepared from culture filtrate of Rhizopus sp. R2, was obescrved at $40^{\circ}C$ and pH 4.

  • 본 연구에서는 향이 자율신경계에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 100%의 Rose oil bulgarian, Lemon oil misitano, Jasmin abs., Lavender oil france (KIMEX co. Ltd)의 네가지 향을 사용하여 심전도, 피부온도, 피부저항의 생리신호를 측정하였고, 생리신호의 측정과 함께 주관적 설문지의 평가를 통해 생리신호와의 상관성을 살펴보았다. 주관적 평가 중 양극 척도의 긴장/이완에 해당되는 문항의 분석결과 장미>자스민>레몬>라벤더 순으로 피험자들에 의해 장미가 가장 긴장된다는 결과를 나타냈다. 향의 선호도 조사에서는 장미향이 가장 진한 향으로 레몬 향이 가장 좋은 향으로 분석결과가 나왔다. 생리신호 중 평균 R-R 간격의 측정 결과는 장미향에서 가장 긴장도가 높게 나타났으며 이에 따른 주관적 평가 결과 역시 장미향이 긴장도가 높게 나와 생리신호와 주관적 평가의 결과가 상관성을 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었고, 피부온도 결과에서는 평균 R-R 간격에서 긴장도가 가장 높은 장미가 피부온도가 가장 높게 나왔다. 피부저항은 레몬 향이 가장 긴장된 것으로 나온 반면 라벤더가 가장 이완으로 나타났으며 라벤더의 경우 주관적 평가와의 상관성을 가짐을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같이 향이 자율신경계에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 주관적 평가와 생리신호를 동시에 측정하였는데 그 결과 주관적 평가와 생리신호의 상관성을 통해 향이 자율신경계에 어떤 영향을 미치는가를 알 수가 있었다.

  • This study proposes kinetic parameters of Ru catalyst for steam methane reforming (SMR). First, extensive experiments are performed under different SMR conditions to evaluate performance of the catalyst in SMR. Second, a kinetic model is designed and developed for parameter estimation and validation using gPROMS. Finally, estimated parameters are fitted to the kinetic model and then, the model results are compared with the experimental data. The model results are in a good agreement with the experimental data.

Correlations between the Capacity of In Vitro Fertilization and the Assays of Sperm Function and Characteristics in Frozen-thawed Bovine Spermatozoa (소 동결-융해 정자에 있어서 체외수정능력과 정자 기능 및 성상 분석법간의 상관관계)

  • The objective of this study was to develop an in vitro assessment of sperm fertilizing capacity of bulls and investigate the factors influencing sperm function and characteristics of frozen-thawed bovine spermatozoa. in vitro fertilization (IVF), the evaluation of motility and normal morphology, HOST (hypoosmotic swelling test), Ca-ionophore induced acrosome reaction, luminol and lucigenin-dependent chemiluminescence for the measurement of reactive oxygen species (ROS), the measurement of malondialdehyde formation for the analysis of lipid peroxidation (LPO), and the evaluation of DNA fragmentation using the method of 747-mediated nick end labelling (TUNEL) by flow cytometry were performed in frozen-thawed bovine spermatozoa. Correlations between the rates of fertilization, blastocyst formation after IVF and the values of respective assays were investigated. 1. IVF rate and blastocyst formation rate averaged 64.4% and 34.3% for spermatozoa from high -fertility bull group and averaged 18.5% and 6.2% for spermatozoa from low-fertility bull group, respectively. There were significantly different between two bull groups. Sperm motility and percentage acrosome reaction averaged 79.0% and 66.2% for spermatozoa from high-fertility bull group and averaged 40.7% and 22.9% for spermatozoa from low-fertility bull group, respectivitely. There were not different between two bull groups. 2. Luminol depenent chemiluminescence, LPO and DNA fragementation averaged 6.4, 2.0 nmol and 2.6% from spermatozoa from high-fertility bull group and averaged 6.5, 3.1 nmol and 7.4% for spermatozoa from low-fertility bull group, respectively. There were significantly different between two bull groups. There was no significant difference in lucigenin dependent chemiluminescence between two bull groups. 3. Fertilization rate was positively correlated with motility and the rate of Ca-ionophore induced acrosome reaction, but negatively correlated with the frequency of luminol-dependent chemiluminescence, the rate of LPO, and the percentage of sperm with DNA fragmentation. There was no correlation between fertilization rate and the percentage of swollen spermatozoa, normal morphology, and the frequency of lucigenin-dependent chemiluminescence. 4. Blastocyst formation rate was positively correlated with the rate of Ca-ionophore induced acrosome reaction, but negatively correlated with the frequency of luminol-dependent chemiluminescence, the rate of LPO, and the percentage of sperm with DNA fragmentation. There was no correlation between blastocyst formation rate and motility, the percentage of swollen spermatozoa, normal morphology, and the frequency of lucigenin-dependent chemiluminescence. In conclusion, these data suggest that ROS significantly impact semen quality. The assays of this study may provide a basis fur improving in vitro assessment of sperm fertilizing capacity.

Growth and Yield Responses of Soybean to Overhead Flooding Duration at Four Growth Stages (관수시간에 따른 콩의 생육 및 수량반응)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the growth characters of overhead flooded soybean plants at four growth stage. Overhead flooding treatments were applied at the vegetative growth stage ($V_3,\;V_6$) and the reproductive stage ($R_2,\;R_4$) for 6.12.24 hrs, respectively. Yield and yield components were more decreased as the overhead flooding duration was longer and the growth stage was later. Yield was not reduced significantly in soybean plants flooded at $V_3$ stage regardless of flooding duration, and flooded 6 or 12 hrs at $V_6$ stage. When compared to the control, 27 to 36% of yield reduction was observed in soybean plants flooded for 24 hrs at $V_6$ stage, 6 or 12 hrs at $R_2$ stage, and 6 hrs at $R_4$ stage. And 43%, 53% and 66% of yield were reduced through the flooding treatment for 24 hrs at $R_2$ stage 12 hrs and 24 hrs at $R_4$ stage, respectively. So yield reduction was higher in overhead flooded soybean plants at the reproductive stage than that at the vegetative growth stage.

Quantitative assessment of effects of TOUCH & CALL - Effects of reaction method on choice reaction to monitor presented stimuli - (지적확인활동의 정량적 평가 -모니터 자극에 대한 선택반응시 반응방법에 따른 실수율 변화-)

  • Automation and mechanization of work make people put the machine into operation and watch the state of operations. In the process of those works, they are apt to have accidents caused by their carelessness. To reduce such accidents, we can practise TOUCH and CALL, which Is to Indicate and ascertain the dangerous parts at every process before performing works. The objectives of thls study are to show quantitatively the efficiency of TOUCH & CALL and to examine the effects of S-R compatibility. The results show that reaction time is longer(0.138-0.279sec.) in case of indicating with finge,s and shouting than that of responding only visually. On the other hand, the error rate decreases by 3.3 times-7times. From this, it is considered to verify quantitative estimation on multiple feedback of TOUCH & CALL.
