The algebraic reconstruction technique is one of the reconstruction methods in CT and shows good image quality against noise-dominant conditions. The number of iteration is one of the key factors determining the execution time for the algebraic reconstruction technique. However, there are some rules for determining the number of iterations that result in more than a few hundred iterations. Thus, the rules are difficult to apply in practice. In this study, we proposed a method to determine the number of iterations for practical applications. The reconstructed image quality shows slow convergence as the number of iterations increases. Image quality 𝜖 < 0.001 was used to determine the optimal number of iteration. The Shepp-Logan head phantom was used to obtain noise-free projection and projections with noise for 360, 720, and 1440 views were obtained using Geant4 Monte Carlo simulation that has the same geometry dimension as a clinic CT system. Images reconstructed by around 10 iterations within the stop condition showed good quality. The method for determining the iteration number is an efficient way of replacing the best image-quality-based method, which brings over a few hundred iterations.

We present a P-type iterative learning control(ILC) scheme for uncertain robotic systems that perform the same tasks repetitively. The proposed ILC scheme comprises a linear feedback controller consisting of position error, and a feedforward and feedback teaming controller updated by current velocity error. As the learning iteration proceeds, the joint position and velocity mrs converge uniformly to zero. By adopting the learning gain dependent on the iteration number, we present joint position and velocity error bounds which converge at the arbitrarily tuned rate, and the joint position and velocity errors converge to zero in the iteration domain within the adopted error bounds. In contrast to other existing P-type ILC schemes, the proposed ILC scheme enables analysis and tuning of the convergence rate in the iteration domain by designing properly the learning gain.
This paper presents a high performance CORDIC circuit based on redundant numbers yielding a minimal number of iteration stages. The minimal number of iteration stages reflects the iteration number yielding a smaller computation error than the truncation error. The minimal number of iterations is found n-4 for $n\geq16$, where n is the number of input angle bits. The CORDIC circuit is based on a redundant number system with a constant scale factor The circuit performs sine and cosine calculations with a delay of {5 (n-4)+ 2[$log_{2}n$]}$\DeltaT$.

We consider some adaptive iteration schemes that provide lower complexity of the iterative receiver by reducing unnecessary iterations. While conventional iterative receiver considers only fixed number of iterations, we apply adaptive iteration schemes, taking into account quality of the received frame. Based on simulation results, proposed schemes reduce average number of iterations while maintaining BER performance compared to the conventional scheme.

DVB-S2 employs LDPC codes which approach to the Shannon's limit, since it has characteristics of a good distance, error floor does not appear. Furthermore it is possible to processes full parallel processing. However, it is very difficult to high speed decoding because of a large block size and number of many iterations. This paper present HSS algorithm to reduce the iteration numbers without performance degradation. In the flooding scheme, the decoder waits until all the check-to-variable messages are updated at all parity check nodes before computing the variable metric and updating the variable-to-check messages. The HSS algorithm is to update the variable metric on a check by check basis in the same way as one code draws benefit from the other. Eventually, LDPC decoding speed based on HSS algorithm improved 30% ~50% compared to conventional one without performance degradation.
Granite cores were sampled within Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute and cyclic loadings up to 1550 cycles were applied. Microcrack development in samples due to cyclic loading was estimated using Acoustic Emission(AE) method. AE showed two different types depending on numbers of cycle. Type 1 appeared at low cycles and had low energy and diverse frequencies, while type 2 appeared at high cycles and had high energy and uniform frequency. AE property of type 1 indicates voids and pre-existing microcracks in samples may close or propagate up to certain length. Microcracks may be sheared or closed during loading and are recovered from shear or opened during unloading when AE of type 2 were measured. P wave velocities and Felicity ratios were measured at 50, 150, 350, 750, 1550 cycles. P wave velocities were almost the same regardless of number of cycles applied. However, Felicity ratios were much lower than 0.9, indicating that microcracks were developed within samples. This result indicates that Felicity ratio is a better tool than P wave velocity to estimate the damage of rock.

LDPC decoder architectures are generally classified into serial, parallel and partially parallel architectures. Conventional method of LDPC decoding in general give rise to a large number of computation operations, mass power consumption, and decoding delay. It is necessary to reduce the iteration numbers and computation operations without performance degradation. This paper studies Horizontal Shuffle Scheduling (HSS) algorithm. In the result, number of iteration is half than conventional algorithm without performance degradation. Finally, this paper present design methodology of high-speed LDPC decoder and confirmed its throughput is up to about 600Mbps.
