This article attempts to define identity, role and functions of a university museum and to suggest specialization of the university museum in the perspective of culture, arts, and science. A university museum is defined as a center for the service of the university community and its development which acquires, researches, communicates, exhibits and educates, for purposes of eduinfotainment,29 material evidence of people and their environment. The target user of the today's university museum are not only professors, students, university workers, but also university neighbourhood such as the related professionals, patrons, parents, school children and villagers. A multi-dimensional and multi-purpose university museum can be established and managed in a real world and / or a cyber world in the perspective of culture, arts, and science. Based on a ubiquitous system30 in a cyber world vis-a-vie a real world, the university museum can be easily utilized by users anywhere, anytime and any device. In order to specialize the university museum in the perspective of culture, arts and science, it is desirable that the university museum director with the CEO of the university community promote the specialization of the university museum based on philosophy and strategies of university community management after they definitely evaluate the components and resources of the university museum such as human powers, museum collections, organizational, technological, capital, spacial and symbolic resources, The specialization of the university museum should be projected and executed in the direction of maintaining the typical scope of museum activities and managing the effective museum management. Specializing the university museum in the perspective of culture, arts, and science can contribute not only to establish the identity of the university community and to perform role and functions of the university museum but also to encourage academic development, to revaluate the brand of the university community and to promote the marketing for the university.

After the establishment of the world's first design museum in London, design museums have - despite the criticism regarding commercialization and centralization - contributed to improving both the quality of life and the national competitiveness in establishing a design identity and promoting the excellence of design by preserving and cultivating the design industry. With the increase in the value of design in the cultural economy of the 21$^{st}$ century, the need for Korean design museums has been growing. Given this, the purpose of this study is to serve as a fundamental basis in introducing a new role and direction for future Korean design museums. In order to provide a foundation for such innovation, the evolved role and the promotional strategies of design museums are examined through the diachronic and synchronic approaches.

지역 박물관은 대도시의 대규모 박물관에 비하여 전시물의 양과 질 그리고 관람객의 접근성에 있어서 열세에 있다. 이러한 가운데 최근 과학기술 문화사업 시행계획에 의한 중점 추진 전략으로써 지방테마 과학관 지원사업이 실행되고 있다. 지역 박물관중 특히 과학관은 어린이와 청소년층의 교육에 크게 도움이 되는 전시를 특징으로 하며 현재 세계 각국에서 다양한 주제로 관람객의 방문을 유도하고 있다. 이러한 기초 조사를 통해 지역의 문화유산을 보다 잘 보존하고 지역 문화 발전과 지역경제에 이바지하는 시설로 자리 잡는데 필요한 마케팅의 디자인 요소를 분석하고 살펴보고자 한다.

박물관은 인류의 다양한 문화의 보고이다. 사회와 문화의 변화로 박물관은 수집, 보존, 연구, 전시라는 고전적이고 기본적 기능을 넘어서 교육과 문화를 포함한 다양한 역할을 하고 있다. 멀티플랫폼은 박물관 체험 학습의 지원을 위한 콘텐츠로서, 관람객의 체험을 통한 지식의 확장과 소통에 더욱 효과적이다.

This paper presents a new classification and code system on the Archives of the Government-general Museum of Joseon in the National Museum of Korea. Three points were noted that since the Museum belonged to the Government-general of Joseon, the classification system of the Archives should be established to comply with the Archives system of the Government-general of Joseon; based on the concept of the functional provenance, it is necessary to establish a classification system in accordance with the organization structure of the Government-general Museum of Joseon; a systematic and simple classification codes should be given based on the classification system to improve the convenience of searching and using the official document. The classification system and its code are proposed in the order of major function, medium function, small function, and detailed function. The major function of the Archives is 'A-Educational affairs', medium function 'Museum.' The small function may be divided into General affairs (01), Temple (02), Scenic Spot and Natural Monument (03), Historical Site (04), and Museum (05). The detailed function and detailed sub-functions are categorized by the various work assignments in each work units. I hope that this new classification system will make a contribution to organizing and utilizing the Archives of the Government-general Museum of Joseon in the National Museum of Korea.

사회적 변화에 따른 대중에게 열린 문화 공간이라는 현대 박물관의 사회적 역할과 기능에 대한 개념은 이미 보편화되어 있다. 다원화, 대중의 열린 교육 공간, 커뮤니티를 위한 공간 등 대중을 위한 지적ㆍ문화적 욕구를 충족시켜 주는 일상과 연계된 열린 공간으로의 변화가 세계적인 추세인 것이다. 하지만 대 사회적 역할을 수행해야 할 국내의 대규모 국ㆍ공립 박물관은 지속적으로 논의되어지고 있는 공공박물관의 역할을 수행하기에는 프로그램의 내용과 이를 수용하는 건축적 대응이 선진 외국박물관들에 비해 많은 면에서 미흡한 것이 사실이다. 따라서 본 글에서는 현대 박물관들이 관람객과 지역주민들을 위해 마련하고 있는 다양한 프로그램의 유형과 그 운영실태를 파악하고 이와 대응하는 공공서비스영역의 건축적 고려에 대한 사항을 분석하여 공공박물관(Public Museum)개념의 적용에 있어 도움이 되는 방법을 제안해본다.

박물관은 예술과 과학 분야에서 귀중한 문화유산적 가치가 있는 소장품을 보관 전시하는 등 교양, 조사연구, 예술활동 등에 이바지하고 있다. 이러한 박물관의 소장품을 위협하는 요소 중 화재로 인한 피해는 소장품을 순식간에 파괴하여 복구 불능 상태가 될 수도 있어 가장 위험이 큰 재해라고 해도 과언이 아니다. 재난 및 안전관리 기본법 제34조의 6에서는('15년 12월 31일 시행), 다중이용시설 등의 소유자 관리자 또는 점유자는 대통령령으로 정하는 바에 따라 위기상황에 대비한 매뉴얼을 작성 관리토록 되어있다. 하지만 연면적 $3,000m^2$ 이상의 대규모 사립박물관만 해당되며 대다수 사립박물관은 재정적으로 취약하고 소규모 시설로 인해 화재를 비롯한 각종 재난안전관리에 매우 취약하여 소중한 문화적 가치를 지닌 유물들이 소실될 수 있는 높은 위험성을 지니고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 중 소규모의 사립박물관 50개소를 선정하여 화재안전에 대비한 소방분야의 관리실태를 점검하고 향후 안전관리 교육 훈련 프로그램 또는 안전관리 매뉴얼 개발에 기초 자료로서 활용 될 수 있는 연구를 수행하였다.

박물관은 과거의 단순한 유물의 수장과 전시라고 하는 전통적 개념에 더하여 일반 대중에게 휴식과 교양을 제공하는 문화시설로서 현대인의 심리를 충족시키는 사회교육기관으로까지 그 기능이 확대 되고 있다. 이러한 요구에 비하여 현존하는 지역 박물관은 기능을 충족하기 어려운 현실이고 이를 해결 할 방안이 모색되어야 할 시점이다. 이에 본 연구는 이러한 기존 박물관의 문제점을 지역 사회의 특징을 고려하지 않은 사업 시행의 결과로 파악하고, 이를 바탕으로 새로운 박물관의 계획 및 기존 박물관의 리모델링에 있어서 기초적으로 고려하여야 할 사항을 문화 정책과 장소 마케팅 차원에서 접근하였다. 이러한 이론적 조사를 토대로 지역 박물관의 계획의 중요 요소를 도출하여 기초 자료로서 제안하고자 한다.

원주시에서는 지역에 산재된 문화재를 수집, 보존, 전시함은 물론 사회 교육기능까지 담당하게 될 원주시립박물관 건립, 현상설계경기를 실시해 총 7작품이 응모한 결과 산건축안을 당선작으로 선정, 지난 6월 22일 발표했다.
