Factors Influencing Death Anxiety in Community-Dwelling Elderly: Based on the Ecology Theory (재가 노인의 죽음불안에 영향을 미치는 요인: 생태학 이론을 바탕으로)

  • Purpose: This study analyzed a path through which factors influencing death anxiety in the community-dwelling elderly, assuming personal organismic factors and microsystemic factors based on the ecology model purported by Belsky (1980). Methods: This study was performed with 189 elderly people. Data were collected through a self-report questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the SPSS and AMOS programs. Results: The factors influencing death anxiety in the elderly were depression, family support, social network, and familism value, and the explanatory power of these variables was 22%. Death anxiety increased with higher depression, higher familism value, larger social network, and lower family support. Spiritual well-being and elderly discrimination experience had indirect effects on death anxiety, and these effects were mediated by depression. Conclusion: Depression, family support, social network, and familism value were found to influence death anxiety in the elderly, and the strongest effect came from depression. To reduce death anxiety in the elderly, it is important to improve their relationship with their family and friends. Moreover, support should be provided by establishing local systems, and intervention should be provided to alleviate depression.

  • 본 논문은 아동의 도덕성 발달에 영향을 미치는 요인들에 관한 연구이다. 아동적 도 덕성 발달에 관한 경험적 모델은 기존 경험적 연구들을 기초로하여 설정되었다. 모델에 포 함된 변인들은 미시체계환경 중간체계환경 거시체계환경으로 범주화 하였다. 미시체계환경 은 심리적으로 근접하기 때문에 어린이의 도덕성 발달에 다른 체계보다 더 강한 영향을 미 치리라 가정하였다 다중회귀분석기법으로 아동의 도덕성 발달에 영향을 미치는 요인의 순효 과를 검증한 결과는 다음과 같았다. (1) 모델에서 대부분 이론적 변인들은 아동의 도덕성 점 수에 유의미했으나 (2) 그 중에서는 미시체계환경은 아동의 도덕성 발달에 가장 유의미한 변인으로 나타났다. 특히 부모와의 의사소통정도는 아동의 도덕성발달에 대단히 중요한 요 인으로 나타났다.

A Study on the Microstructure of Terminological Dictionaries (전문용어사전의 미시구조에 관한 연구)

  • As technical intellectual work now has become prolific and various, rapid evolution of technical terms needs to collect and manage them systematically and efficiently. The purpose of this study is to suggest the microstructure for systematic definitions of definiendum in terminological dictionaries. This study reveals specific properties or differences of terminography on the basis of terminology and lexicography, analyzes problems of microstructure in a current terminological dictionary, and, based upon the theoretical and practical analysis, attempts to derive structural and methodical suggestions for microstructure of terminological dictionaries.

Ecological Systems Factors Associated with Childhood Depression (아동기 우울에 영향을 미치는 생태체계 요인)

  • The purpose of this study aimed to examine the effects of ecological systems factors on childhood depression. A total of 2,119 children data from 2013 Korean Children & Youth Panel Survey(the fourth wave)were used in this study. The results of hierarchical regression showed the most ecological systems factors; organisms(child's gender, aggressiveness, attention problems), microsystems(parental neglect, parental abuse, good relationships with friends), exosystem(supportive community environment); had effects on depression. The most influential factors were child's aggressiveness, parental abuse, good relationships with friends, supportive community environment. Finally, this study suggested some implications for practical intervention and further research in childhood depression.

  • The purpose of research is analyzing the ecological variables on the effect of child care teacher's happiness. The data was collected by the survey of the happiness factors and ecological variables of child care teachers. The results are listed below. First, of organismic variable, the age and the educational background of child care teacher showed discrimination one's happiness. Second, of micro system variable, the marital status is the only thing that affect the happiness. Third, of meso system variable, the teachers who are highly interact on each other such as, child to teacher and parents to teacher are much happier than others. Finally, of the outside system variable, the teachers who are working at the better working environment and good quality of duty are much happier than others.

School Adjustment of Korean-Chinese Children : Ecological Factors in Yanbian (연변 조선족 아동의 학교적응에 대한 생태학적 접근)

  • The subjects of this study were 258 Korean-Chinese parent-child dyads of an elementary school in Yanbian Province, northeastern China. Research questions covered relationships among children's school adjustment and ecological factors, significance of factors within ecological levels, and direct and indirect effects in causal relationships. Results showed significant effects within each ecological level. Achievement motivation of the individual system, home environment and social support of the microsystem, and mother's job satisfaction in the exosystem had significant relationships with children's school adjustment. Mother's education and job satisfaction influenced school adjustment through home environment; the causal relationship between social support and school adjustment was mediated by achievement motivation. Personal and general factors from each ecological level were more significant than ethnic related factors in explaining children's school adjustment.

An Analysis of Microsystem Variables Affecting Children's Daily Hassles (유아의 일상적 스트레스에 영향을 미치는 미시체계 변인 탐색)

  • The daily hassles of 5-year-old children were explored and analyzed as microsystems in order to discover the relative importance of ecological factors in children's daily hassles. The subjects were 322 children, their mothers and 34 teachers recruited from 5 kindergartens and 15 child-care centers in Seoul and Kyonggido province. Children were interviewed individually with pictures showing certain stressful situations. Questionnaires were administered to mothers and teachers. The findings indicated that the microsystem variables of Kindergartens and child-care centers were the most significant factors explaining children's daily hassles. Therefore, it was suggested that the policies and regulations on child-care facilities be carefully developed and strictly regulated.

  • 한국사회는 빠르게 저출산 고령화가 진행되고 있으며 이에 따라 생산가능인구가 감소하고 있는 실정이다. 국가 경쟁력 제고 차원의 새로운 대안으로 다양한 인력 활용 방안을 고려하게 되었다. 이를 적극적이고 효과적으로 지원하기 위하여 정책이 필요하며, 정책과정에 자원으로 정책지식이 동원된다. 정책지식이 생성되고 활용되는 전 과정에 참여하는 개체들을 분석하여 정책지식 생태계 모형으로 나타낼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 효과적으로 다양한 인력을 관리하기 위해 정책지식생태계 관점에서, 즉 정책지식을 둘러싼 미시체계, 중간체계, 외체계, 거시체계 차원에서 정책지식과 관련된 이슈를 논의하였다.

Ecosystem Factors that Affect Abandoned Mine Area Residents' Life Satisfaction (생태체계 요인이 폐광지역 주민의 생활만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to figure out measures to improve abandoned mine area residents' life satisfaction from the viewpoint of ecosystems. The subjects of this study were 195 residents aged at least 30 years and structured survey were used collected from April, 3, 2014 to 20. The levels of abandoned mine area residents' mental health were measured using the general mental health scale and the residents' life satisfaction was examined using a life satisfaction scale. The abandoned mine area resident's life satisfaction was a little higher than the middle and their future life satisfaction was shown to be the lowest. Out of the microsystemic factors, mental health degree contributing to the quality of life and those with lower depression and anxiety showed higher life satisfaction. None of the mesosysystemic factors, were not found to influencing the quality of life. Out of the macrosystemic factors were found to be mine area special law in influencing the quality of life. In order to improve the life satisfaction of the mine locals seem to need practical strategies related for maintaining a healthy mind and continued implementation of the economic revitalization policy.

Analysis of Ecological Factors Affecting School Life Satisfaction of Commercial High School Students (상업계열 고등학생들의 학교생활만족도에 영향을 미치는 생태체계 변인 분석)

  • This research intended to investigate, from an ecological perspective, significant predictors affecting school life satisfaction. The subjects were 312 students(2nd grade) of commercial high school in Kyonggido. Data collected by questionnaire survey were analyzed by SPSS Win 22.0 and descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, hierarchical linear regression, and stepwise regression were conducted. There were 21 independent variables: 8 organism variables (self-competence, interpersonal skills, internal control, mood awareness, emotional expression, empathy, emotional regulation, emotional capability), 9 microsystem variables(school variables: the relationship with teachers, school learning, classroom climate, school welfare facilities, school environment/peer variables: peer relationship/family variables: family functioning, education level of fathers, economic status), 2 mesosystem variables(parent-teacher relationship, parent-children's peer relationship), 1 exosystem variables(satisfaction with Korean educational system), 1 macrosystem variables(Korean's primal belief in educational achievement). The results are as follows; the significant variables were the relationship with teachers, satisfaction with Korean educational system, peer relationship, emotional capability, parent-teacher relationship($R^2=45.3%$); and the effect of microsystem was the strongest($R^2=35.7%$). This research is meaningful of analyzing school life satisfaction of commercial high school in terms of ecological perspective.
