  • This investigation was conducted to derive future recognition and future competency of career counselors using future workshops and to verify the effectiveness of improving future adaptability. For this purpose, the future workshop was conducted for 25 career counselors and the data written and the discussion contents of the future workshop were analyzed. For analysis, word frequency analysis and corresponding sample T-verification were conducted, and the main words were derived through consensus. The results, First, the keywords of future recognition showed high frequency of robot, artificial intelligence, leisure, education, convenience, and the disabled. Second, the future labor sites projected the most changes due to high technology. Third, at the career counseling site, professional career counselors and robot counselors related to the fourth industrial revolution are expected to appear. Fourth, future competencies of career counselors were derived from information processing ability, professional counseling ability, communication ability, and ethical consciousness. Finally, it was confirmed that the future adaptability of career counselors increases after participating in future workshops, and the future competencies derived from this study are expected to be used for job training of career counselors.

  • The purpose of this study was to understand and develop various environmental designs to play a key roles in urban design, so that public green spaces remain vital with future changes. Variability in space, ecology, and society were analyzed based on research of variable environmental spaces in 11 selected studies conducted locally and abroad since the 2010s. Moreover, landscape characteristics, design methods, and design strategies were analyzed accordingly for each case. The results of the study showed that variability in landscapes provided various possibilities for spatial change and satisfied people's functional needs for spatial use. In addition, variable environmental design greatly compensated for the defects by solving the issues associated with fixed landscapes by increasing the flexibility of use and adaptability to the environment. This study showed that variable design is applicable to public green spaces; environmental stress; and variability in architecture, the environment, and landscaping, and it contributes to enhancing the sustainability and resilience of the environment.

  • Since the phases and patterns of the climate adaptability of vegetation can greatly differ from region to region, an intensive pixel scale approach is required. In this study, Partial Least Squares (PLS) regression on satellite image-based vegetation index is conducted for to assess the effect of climate factors on vegetation productivity and to predict future productivity of forests vegetation in South Korea. The results indicate that the mean temperature of wettest quarter (Bio8), mean temperature of driest quarter (Bio9), and precipitation of driest month (Bio14) showed higher influence on vegetation productivity. The predicted 2050 EVI in future climate change scenario have declined on average, especially in high elevation zone. The results of this study can be used in productivity monitoring of climate-sensitive vegetation and estimation of changes in forest carbon storage under climate change.

  • It is time to release manpower to cope with and adapt to the job crisis caused by the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The purpose of this study is to present the direction of future career education by measuring the information subjects and programming language awareness of female high school students considering the adaptability to SW field of women. In order to achieve the purpose of research, 300 high school girls were selected. As a result of the study, it was found that the students who had a good knowledge of computer and computer literacy, the students who recognized the programming language showed more confidence in computer and the students who recognized programming language preferred the information related occupation. Also, correlation analysis showed high correlation between 'preference' and 'motivation' factors in 'confidence' and 'preference' factors. This study suggests that the emphasis on career education and the importance of the education starting point of information subject are important for future female students to be connected with computer related jobs.

  • This paper is concerned with analysing the bankruptcy prediction power of three models: Multivariate Discriminant Analysis(MDA), Logit Analysis, Neural Network. The research targeted the bankrupted companies after the foreign exchange crisis in 1997 to differentiate from previous research efforts, and all participating companies were randomly selected from the KSE listed companies belonging to manufacturing industry to improve prediction accuracy and validity of the model. In order to assure meaningful bankruptcy prediction, training data and testing data were not extracted within the corresponding period. The result is that prediction accuracy of neural networks is more excellent than that of logit analysis and MDA model when considering that execution of testing data was followed by execution of training data.

  • This paper presents a concept of training coursework for engineers in cooperation with the industry combining system, comparing Korea with France. The students, after first two years in a university for the foundation/basic courses, will be centered in the industry, rather than at an academic institution, where field training engineering coursework will be offered in structured or capstone design(problem based learning) formats through the industry. This study on the improvement of the concept has several advantages including the followings ; 1) Industry hiring local-area students who have the potential to be long-term employees; 2) Industry's immediate access to employees with developing engineering skills; 3) On-the-job training reduced industry training costs after graduation; 4) More effective learning through observing complex operations; 5) Students and industry input for continuous improvement of the curriculum; 6) Greater amenability on the part of industry to actively participate in research and development; 7) Increasing in the flow of real research problems for engineering. Finally, the implications for student quality, accreditation, assessment of partnership, academic freedom, and fundraising for scholarships and researches are discussed briefly.

  • The objective of this study is to figure out some specific features that were found during the adaptation process of migrant women by marriage to their local community, and also to elicit certain practical implications to facilitate their adaptation, based on the findings. For data collection, in-depth interviews were conducted with eight migrant women by marriage and the interviews were tape-recorded for transcription. For analysis, phenomenological method, particularly, Colaizzi method was adopted, by which meaningful statements in the data were categorized into themes and theme clusters. A total of 7 thematic unts, 17 themes and 47 meanings were elicited from the analysis and these 7 thematic units were "reinforcement of inner capability"; "cultural assimilation"; "to be a limited benefit receiver"; "no human network"; " impossible to be optimistic about future"; "hoping to reside in their local community"; "possible to leave Korea." Finally, this study suggested the implications for social welfare practices to facilitate the adaptation of immigrant women by marriage in their local community.

  • The paper proposes an efficient buffer management scheme to enhance performance of the disk I/O system. Without any user level information, the proposed scheme automatically detects the block reference patterns of applications by associating block attributes with forward distance of a block. Based on the detected patterns, the scheme applies an appropriate replacement policy to each application. We also present a new block allocation scheme to improve the performance of buffer cache when kernel needs to allocate a cache block due to a cache miss. The allocation scheme analyzes the cache hit ratio of each application based on block reference patterns and allocates a cache block to maximize cache hit ratios of system. These all procedures are performed on-line, as well as automatically at system level. We evaluate the scheme by trace-driven simulation. Experimental results show that our scheme leads to significant improvements in hit ratios of cache blocks compared to the traditional schemes and requires low overhead.

  • The purpose of this study was to review the literature on music intervention research with North Korean defectors, focusing on posttraumatic growth. Eleven research papers were searched and selected to examine their general characteristics, intervention content, and therapeutic basis of music interventions for North Korean defectors. The investigated variables were related to posttraumatic growth-related aspects in changes in individuals, intervention goals, measurement tools, outcomes depending on developmental stages of the participants. The analysis showed that music provided a safe and familiar environment, which facilitated voluntary participation. Through music interventions, it was confirmed that individuals were able to discover their inner strength, leading to improved adaptability in daily life; positive changes were experienced in the social and relational aspects; and confidence in the future was strengthened. By reviewing music interventions with North Korean defectors, this study can present implications for music interventions with people who have experienced trauma and require assistance in fostering posttraumatic growth.
