Optimal Material Flow of AGV based Production Lines (자동안내운반기로 된 생산라인의 최적 물류흐름)

  • This paper concerns the production model that the Automatic Guided Vehicles(AGVs) is used as transporters in assembly line. The model suggests that assembly parts may inter the beginning of the line in multiple units instead entering one unit at a time. Costs are occured in proportion to the number of vehicle on the line and job flow time. Here, the objective of this model is to determine the number of vehicle to minimize the total cost for M products production. Theoretical results are proved which lead to the development of algorithm for solution search. The solution search procedure is illustrated by a numerical example.

  • Handling the manufacured goods is the most cost-consuming task in material handling system in wooden furniture industries. Fully automated warehouse for cartoned goods of a furniture manufacturing company was analized to provide plant engineers and managers with some important informations on the utility and profitability of the automated storage and retrieval system(AS/RS). Process-oriented simulation modeling tech-niques were used to describe the system and to propose some alternatives to promote the efficiency of AS/RS. Simulation report could be inter-preted as follows: 1. Warehouse for the furniture goods must be designed in accordance with reliable material handling program and constructed with suitable equipments depending on the specification of packed products. 2. An excess of palletized products induced the indigestion and the inefficiency of AS/RS of the furniture industry and put this high-costly system into the shade. 3. Overcrowded AS/RS of the furniture factories could regain its material handling function by cutting down the deposit of products into the automated warehouse. For this purpose, reducing the regular output and direct delivering the outside products to the destination should be considered as the definite counterplan. And additional operation of conventional handy warehouse was also expected to improve the efficiency of main AS/RS.

  • AGV is most often used for the automation of freight transportation in the manufacturing industry or the distribution warehouses. AGV is fairly costly and used in goods transport between the determined location. The main control device dedicated to AGV is often autonomously developed for simplification using PLC in industry field. However, AGV developed for simplification makes many errors in traffic because it is developed for the limited simple function. Control device dedicated to AGV has been developed to solve the problem but it is almost impossible to revise the device according to the character and structure of every manufacturing industry. The purpose of this study is to propose the design method of the control system interlocked with PLC and dedicated to AGV. The control system should be to improve the problem of traffic rolling and possible to be revised according to the character of factory. It is apparent the proposed AGV system is efficient in operation in the result of several traffic performance analysis through the tests.

  • This paper presents torque control of DC motor using the velocity profile based acceleration/deceleration controller for automatic guided vehicles (AGVs). This technique has some advantage; to reduce the damage of motors and to extend the life time of motors. First, we generate velocity profiles for three cases and design the state feedback controller using the generated velocity profile as a reference. The state feedback controller has servo system for solving regulation problem. For the verification, we apply the proposed method to control a cart position and shows some simulation result.

  • Design and evaluation of AGV-based material handling systems are very complicated due to the randomness and the large number of variables involved Vehicle travel time is a key parameter for designing and evaluating AGV systems. Although loaded travel time is relatively easy to estimate, determination of empty vehicle travel time is difficult due to the inherent randomness of material handling systems. Most previous studies assume that the empty vehicle travel time is the same as the loaded travel time or assume very specific environments. This paper presents new vehicle travel time models for AGV-based material transport systems. The research effort is focused on the estimation of empty vehicle travel time under various vehicle dispatching policies. Simulation experiments are used to verify the proposed travel time models.

  • Recently, a container shipping volume has increased dramatically and continued on a trend of rapid growth, and so the number of container handled at the port increase. therefore, it's increasing about concern of harbor automatism to save distribution costs in harbor. harbor automatism classifies into four large automatism's, gate automatism by using RFID that trailer come with burdening the container to be loaded on ships go though with RFID and Quay-Side container crane automatism that treats cargos loading on ships and automatism of CG that loads containers from yard, and automatism of container transporters that carries containers in between gates. To increase the using efficiency of harbor, detecting exact location of yard crane is very important matter. In this paper, it intends to discuss about yard crane automatism applied UWB Ranging system and bring up the development direction.

  • In this paper, we present integer programming models and algorithms for the Capacitated Facility Location-Allocation Problem (CFLP). The models and algorithms can be used for the design of logistics networks and for the location of telecommunication facilities. We are given a set of candidate facility installation sites, one type of facility for each candidate site with its capacity and installation cost, a set of customers with their demand requirement, and flow cost for one unit of demand flow from each customer to each candidate site. (CFLP) is to determine the number of facilities for each candidate site and the set of customers which are connected to each site with minimum cost, while satisfying the demand requirement of each customer and constraints imposed on the allocation of customers to facilities. We present two integer programming models for (CFLP), and devise a branch-and-cut algorithm and a branch-and-price algorithm for the problem.

  • An automated material handling system (AMHS) has been emerging as an important factor in the semiconductor wafer manufacturing industry. In general, an automated guided vehicle (AGV) in the Fab's AMHS travels hundreds of miles on guided paths to transport a lot through hundreds of operations. The AMHS aims to transfer wafers while ensuring a short delivery time and high operational reliability. Many linear and analytic approaches have evaluated and improved the performance of the AMHS under a deterministic environment. However, the analytic approaches cannot consider a non-linear, non-convex, and black-box performance measurement of the AMHS owing to the AMHS's complexity and uncertainty. Unexpected vehicle congestion increases the delivery time and deteriorates the Fab's production efficiency. In this study, we propose a Q-Learning based dynamic routing algorithm considering vehicle congestion to reduce the delivery time. The proposed algorithm captures time-variant vehicle traffic and decreases vehicle congestion. Through simulation experiments, we confirm that the proposed algorithm finds an efficient path for the vehicles compared to benchmark algorithms with a reduced mean and decreased standard deviation of the delivery time in the Fab's AMHS.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 대한 관심이 높아지면서, 위치인식기술의 중요성이 대두 되고 있다. 기존에 많이 이용되어 왔던 위치인식기술에는 인공위성을 이용한 GPS, 초음파를 이용한 Cricket, 적외선을 이용한 Active Badge, RF를 이용한 RFDAR등이 있다. 하지만 이러한 기술들은 시스템을 위해 기반 시설을 전제 조건으로 하기 때문에 이용에 어려움이 따른다. 기존의 위치인식기술의 단점을 보안하기 위한 방법으로 제시된 것이 GSM과 무선 LAN을 이용한 위치인식기술들이다. 현재는 차량용 네비게이션, 물류시스템의 상품 운반 현황 추적 등 위치인식기술을 바탕으로 한 다양한 서비스들이 상용화되어 가고 있다. 상용화된 서비스들의 특성에 따라 개인화된 위치 정보를 필요로 하는 것들이 많아 지고 있으며, 개인화된 정보를 획득하고 이를 서비스에 적용하려는 시도가 여러 곳에서 진행 중이다. 개인화된 정보를 얻기 위해서는 사람이 이해하고 사용할 수 있는 장소라는 개념을 확보해야 하며, 인공지능적인 기술들을 필요로 하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 기반시설(AP: Access Point)이 충분한 무선 LAN을 이용하여 위치인식 기술애 대해 연구하였다. 기존의 무선 LAN 장비를 통하여 얻어진 위치 데이터를 가공하여 검색 기술의 고전적인 방법인 벡터 유사도와 확률 기반 유사도를 적용하여 인식률의 추이를 실험해 보고, 인식률 증가를 위한 방법들을 모색해 보겠다. 또 위치기반 알리미를 통하여 개인화 정보에 대한 적용 방향에 대해 연구해 보고자 한다.
