In this research, it was examined whether the importance of value of self(i.e., self-referenced values) and the perceived importance of values of average Koreans(i.e., culture-referenced values) differ according to social class. In Study 1, differences in the importance of self-referenced values according to the social class of 1,140 adults aged over 19 years old were examined using Korean data from the World Values Survey. Findings showed that higher social class was associated with higher levels of Hedonism (which belongs to the individualistic value domain) and Benevolence, and lower levels of Tradition (which belongs to the collectivistic value domain) and Universalism. In Study 2, culture-referent questionnaires were added to examine the differences in self-referenced values and culture-referenced values according to social class. Findings showed that higher social class was associated with greater importance attached to individualistic value domain (namely, Power and Achievement), and as a result of Study 1, less importance attached to Benevolence towards the self. On the contrary, for culture-referent ratings, higher social class was associated with lower perceptions of the importance of individualistic value domain (namely, Self-direction and Hedonism) and greater importance attached to Tradition (which belongs to the collectivistic value domain) for average Koreans. These results suggest that the importance of self-referenced values and culture-referenced values differ by social class. The need for social class research taking into account culture and the importance of the culture-referent ratings is highlighted. Future directions for research are discussed.

OAIS Reference Model has become a basis for exchanging ideas and cooperating among institutions and various sectors concerned with digital archiving. It has been also recently approved as a new ISO standard. This paper reviews major concepts and issues that the reference addresses. It also introduces current activities of institutions and projects that have contributed to the development process of the model. Conclusion is devoted to address the importance of cooperation among cultural institutions. These institutions are taking the responsibility of preserving digital information for the long-term as authentic as possible and delivering it to the next generation.

소프트웨어 개발 프로젝트가 복잡, 대형화되어 프로젝트 품질이 매우 중요해짐에 따라 소프트웨어 개발 업체의 개발 능력 수준을 객관적으로 평가하기 위하여 CMM모형이 참조되고 있다. 소프트웨어 개발 업체들은 과다한 비용을 투자하며 CMM등급을 인증받기 위하여 노력하고 있으나 CMM 인증의 신뢰성에 대하여 문제가 제기되고 있는 상황에서 CMM등급 인증이 프로젝트 품질 성과에 차이를 나타내는지의 연구와 CMM등급 인증과 기업 문화의 적합이 프로젝트 성과에 차이를 나타내는지에 대하여 적합 구조 이론을 참조하여 연구하였다. 연구 결과, CMM인증 등급별로 해당 조직에서 수행한 프로젝트의 품질 성과에 유의한 차이가 존재하고, 특히 CMM인증과 기업 문화 수준이 적합되어질 때 프로젝트의 품질 성과에 유의한 차이가 있음이 밝혀졌다.

A reference ontology for cultural heritage information, CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model (CRM), has promoted cooperation among memory institutions and FRBRoo, re-constructed version of FRBR based on CRM, was developed. In this study, the harmonized ontology version of FRBR, FRBRoo, was analysed and, as a results, the followings are suggested: empowered interoperability for information exchange and integration among cultural institutions and designing more comprehensible inference rules than original FRBR model. Moreover, the by-products of harmonization gave opportunity to recognize internal inconsistencies of the FRBR model and CRM itself and refine them.

지난 8월 16일에서 24일까지 영국 글래스고에서 개최된 제68차 국제도서관협회연맹 대회 총회에서는 '도서관, 정보서비스 기관, 지적 자유에 관한 글래스고 선언(The Glasgow Declaration Libraries, Information Services and Intellectual Freedom, 원문은 http://www.ifla.org/faife/policy/iflastat/gldeclar-e.html 참조)'과 'IFLA 인터넷 설명서(The IFLA Internet Manifesto, 원문은 http://www.ifla.org/III/misc/internetmanif.htm 참조)'가 채택되었다. 이 같은 성명의 체택은 도서관ㆍ정보분야에서 지적자유에 관해 국제적 합의를 명확히 하고 이해와 협력을 구하기 위한 것으로 지난 해 발생한 미국 9.11테러 사태 이후 일어나고 있는 일련의 조치에 (국민의 기본권을 제한할 수 있는 법률의 제정 등) 대한 도서관계의 능동적인 대응이라는 의미가 크다. 국내 도서관인에게 참고가 될 만한 자료라 생각되어 '도서관문화' 편집실에서 이를 번역하여 게재코자 한다.
