A Study on Redefinition of Cultural Diversity and Analyzing Frame based on Media Convergence Environment (융합미디어 환경에 따른 문화다양성 범주 설정 및 분석 프레임 연구)

  • This work is for redefining of cultural diversity and suggesting measurement frame by casting light on changing cultural environment according to evolution of digital convergence media. So far, most of studies tend to confuse at using media diversity and cultural diversity and resultingly the concept of cultural diversity is not founded right yet. In communications field, there is a limit to measure cultural diversity which is substantive content because analysis of media diversity is mainly focused on financial measuring and quantitation. Therefore we define digital convergence media culture as metaculture here for analysis of cultural diversity. Additionally, we catagorize and analysis cultural diversity based on this metaculture into pluralism of media activity, diversity of cultural expression, diversity of cultural diffusion and diversity of cultural cognition. These measuration variables of the four categories are factors which can lighten aspects of cultural diversity in digital convergence media environment. Analysis of these factors of the four catagories will suggest a criterion to establish policies to protect cultural diversity. The policy of cultural diversity is to construct a cultural commune in envirnment of meta culture.

Rhetoric, Debate and Its Epistermological Basis (토론문화의 언론사상사적 기반에 관한 연구)

  • The previous study has assumed that dialogue and debate could not have been activated by the hierachical Confucian norm and political authoritarianism in Korean society. Political democracy has developed in Korean society since 1987. But many observers have pointed out that the culture of debate still remained undeveloped in Korean society. This study assumes that the key factor of determining the quantity and frequency of debate is the polilitical factor such as authoritarianism, but the determining one of qualitative dimension such as debate competence derived from the epistemological tradition. In order to ascertian this hypothesis, this study explored the epistemological basis of Confucian thoughts in comparison with the classical Greek thoughts. In classical Greek society, philosophers considered that the purpose of debate is to find and to ascertain the truth. Bur Confucian scholors didn't look upon questioning the truth. Instead they considered practicing or doing of the truth worthful. Therefore, in a society which were much influenced by the Confucian thought, the culture of debate could not have been developed.

A Study on the Organizational Support for Smart Work (스마트워크 지원을 위한 조직적 준비에 대한 연구)

  • In the case of ICT-enabled organizational changes such as Smart Work, appropriate change management is required. To achieve work-life balance, organizational change management should be conducted from both a structural and a cultural perspective. This study looked at organizational factors that affect Smart Work facilitation through a case study with the view of ICT-enabled change management. From November to December 2019, eight Smart Workers of Company A were interviewed and analyzed for organizational support. The results show that structural support such as institutionalization, ICT infrastructure office environment improvement, Smart Work center as well as cultural support such as enhancing autonomy, communicating style of managers, trusting organizational climate are required. The findings suggest balanced organizational support to provide cultural support along with structural support for activating Smart Work operations. In the future, it is necessary to demonstrate the causality between structural/cultural support factors and outcome factors.

  • Today the new social and cultural area is generated by development of digital media and internet. Especially UCC is the new cultural area of this time, UCC is applicated and delivered the individual image and contents by digital equipment. This research tried to study the communication esthetics with the relation of a user. And it study about the function of the media communication, the cultural possibility, the value by art of UCC. From now I have not to see the UCC media technology the level of technical limit and we see it variously the level of cultural and artistic. I study the meaning of them and try the analysis. And I will study about the communication between the individual and the community. And I will study also the short aspect and the synthesize aspect of digital network, and how possible the realization of free culture. And I will analyse the meaning and system of UCC contents that product and copy today and then I will suggest that contribute the UCC culture development.

  • This study is about classical music lovers who write a lengthy concert review on instagram. The intention and objective of writing a review is discussed in addition to inter-communication between those reviewers. For the analysis, an interview with 8 reviewers are mainly analyzed with their reviews. As a result, it is found that some affordances of Instagram, easiness, randomness, and friendliness affects them to use Instagram more than other social media. Hence, since Instagram is image-based platform, it helps writers to keep their reviews from getting an attention by other users. Because of their sense of inferiority that they are lacking in classical music knowledge, continuous writing and reading of reviews help them accumulating some amount of cultural capital needed for understanding classical music in a proper way.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of perceived agile culture(empowerment, continuous learning, personal communication Intensification) on job performance(task, contextual, adaptive) and to explore the moderating effect of individual capability(knowledge, skill). For the empirical analysis, data were collected from convenient sample of 219 employees working at enterprise in China. The analysis of validity and reliability of variables and regression analysis were performed using SPSS 21. The results of this research as followed: firstly, the positive perceived agile culture and job performance were statistically supported. Secondly, the individual capability played as a partial moderator on the relationship between the perceived agile culture and the job performance. The factors that constitute the perceived agile culture can present the research directions for the transformation into the agile organization.

  • As a communication language, non-text records and archives such as photographs, images, and videos are becoming more important than text records. As a result, domestic institution, organizations, and specialists related to record management have been emphasizing the necessity of the archive management system appropriate for the distinctive characteristics of image records. This paper summarizes the points to be considered for the establishment of the Korean audiovisual archives management system, based on the writer's experience of participating in the International Audiovisual Archives Management Training for professionals in the world(INA Frame) of 2018. In particular, various types of contents including cinema, broadcasting, cultural should be managed at the national level. Furthermore, the necessity of a new concept establishment for "public audiovisual heritage" is accentuated. In addition, the tasks regarding the establishment of foundation, such as the modification of the related systems and infrastructures, and the layouts of the institution or governance, should be reviewed and revised. Moreover, the preliminary tasks revised, should be lead to the establishment of stable management system for public audiovisual archives of Korea.

  • In this study, the symbols and visual expressions employed in the food culture content of official website designed to promote three cities in Korea, Seoul, Jeonju and Jeju, were subjected to semiotic analysis. In this study, it was assumed that these websites reflected the varying perspectives of the people behind the development and management of these routes of Internet communication, and the semiotic choices made in order to exemplify each city's food cultural image. The aim of the study was to analyze the communication strategies of food cultural branding in the terms of the online content regarding Seoul, Jeonju, and Jeju with a focus on the comparative points in these cities' official websites. This study included conducting semiotic content analyses of the aforementioned cities' official web pages in an attempt to determine the food branding strategies used to differentiation and produce more favorable perceptions of these three cities. Building upon the findings drawn from this comparative study, the present work can be used to determine more effective ways of strategically differentiating the images of local food culture associated with these cities from the view of brand communications. This study also demonstrates viable directions for designing web content for a city where the food cultural messages can be delivered in a thoughtful and effective manner.

  • Tourism now stand among the fastest and largest industries in the global economy in the 21 st era, with knowledge information and environment industry. After 1990's, each local government in korea that has been organizing and expanding new and existing festivals, those related locality, natural resources, speciality and ethnic customs. While netizens have increased from the later half of 1990's, the Internet has appeared in it with a main advertizing channel of all industries, especially tourism. Each local county publicizes a local festival and all kind of information while managing its web-site. However, they have lots of difficulties In building local information web sites because of lack of technical and financial resources. This study examined general theories about Internet web sites and local festivals to elicit the previous problems and to suggest the ways to activate local festivals utilizing Internet, based upon analysis of web sites and Internet utilization on local festivals designated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as the cultural tour one among local festivals.

  • Space plays a very important role in the human residential environment. Space is where the direct experience of life and expansion of that experience are made out of simple residential space. In particular, kitchen space is where the importance of the living space is perceived and is becoming an everyday part of life through television programs. Thereby, kitchen space is where the culture of everyday life plays a role in communication based on the very important production and function of television culture. The kitchen is where various experiences emerge. It is a space where the phenomena of communicating through cooking, experiencing tastes, and communicating with family members is realized. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between communication and production in the kitchen through analysis of "Yune Restaurant 1" on tvN channel. The results of this study show that the human kitchen space leads to expansion of various experiences in the process of various cultural discounts.
