The Effects of Fathers' Sex-Role Attitude and Parenting Involvement on Mothers' Parenting Stress: Focused on Parents with Young Children (유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 성역할태도와 양육참여가 어머니 양육스트레스에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of the study was to examine the effects of fathers' sex-role attitude and parenting involvement on mothers' parenting stress. The subjects were 383 parents with young children aged 3-5 in Metropolitan area, South Korea. We measured the study variables using the questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation analyses, and the analyses of multiple regression using SPSS 21.0. The results showed that both fathers' sex-role attitude and fathers' parenting involvement had the statistically significant negative correlations with mothers' parenting stress. Second, fathers' sex-role attitude and parenting involvement showed the statistically significant negative effects on mothers' parenting stress. We suggest that it is necessary to promote the fathers modern and desirable sex-role attitude and to support fathers' participation in parenting in order to alleviate the parenting stress of mothers with young children.

  • This Paper is the Thesis that Reports Empirical Results on the Effect of Maintaining Behavior of Native Culture on the Job Attitude of Immigrant Labor and the Mediating Effect of Psychological Well-being. In order to Accomplishment this Goal, an Empirical Study was Implemented. The Data for an Empirical Study was Obtained from the Survey on 205 Immigrant Labor from Vietnam in Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do. And Multiple Regression Analysis was Conducted to Examine the Research Hypothesis. The Summary of Empirical Study's Results is Follows. 1) Among Maintaining Behavior of Native Culture, Native Culture-related Media Behavior, Meeting with Native Companions and Persistence of Native Religious Activity have the Positive Effect on the Job Attitude Significantly. 2) Eating Native Food have the Negative Effect on the Job Satisfaction Significantly. 3) There are Mediating Effects of Psychological Well-being on the Relationship Between the Maintaining Behavior of Native Culture and Job Attitudes. Maintaining Behavior of Native Culture has Significant Positive Effect on Job Involvement and Job Satisfaction Indirectly Via Mechanisms Such as the Spillover Effect of Psychological Well-being. That is, The more Immigrant Workers do Maintaining Behavior of Native Culture, the Higher Psychological Well-being is and it Improves Their Job Involvement and Job Satisfaction. The Implication of these Results, the Limitation of this Study and the Direction of Future Study were Suggested.

A Cross-Cultural Study of Value Structure and Environmental Consumerism: The Case of Korean and United States Consumers (가치구조와 환경소비주의에 관한 타 문화간 비교연구: 한국과 미국 소비자사례)

  • In an effort to increase our understanding of green buying behavior, the present study proposes and tests a comprehensive model of how values influence attitudes toward the environment and preferences for green products in a cross-cultural setting. Data were collected from a survey with consumers in two cultures, diametrically different on values salient to environmental consumerism, the U.S. and Korea. As a result of model testing both at the national and multi-group levels, a refined, final model is presented. While the core human values were found to relate to environmental attitudes and green buying behavior, the patterns of the relationships among the variables emerged to differ between the two cultures, highlighting the importance of cross-cultural investigations in this area. Results suggest that biospheric values significantly influence environmental attitudes and green consumption in both countries. However, the effects of egoism were significant among American respondents whereas altruism appeared to have a significant influence on attitude and behavior in the Korean sample. Findings of this study should aid international marketers in their understanding of what drives consumers' green buying behavior in different cultural settings.

  • In this research, we analyzed the foundation infrastructure of college and the entrepreneurial abilities, attitudes and entrepreneurial intention of students. This aim is to provide differentiated entrepreneurial education methodology of colleges different from general universities. First, in order to grasp the entrepreneurial infrastructure of the college, we conducted an interview with the person in charge and evaluated it based on the criteria presented at the Foundation Promotion Agency. Secondly, we conducted a questionnaire survey for students of colleges and analyzed entrepreneurial ability, entrepreneurial attitudes, and entrepreneurial intentions. As a result, the following suggestions were derived. As colleges have a shorter period than general universities, it is impossible to prepare the same infrastructure with 4 year universities, so differentiated infrastructure standards should be presented. It is lower than the competence and attitude of the student's foundation. Therefore, in the course of education, we must seek methods that can increase the degree of establishment through comparative processes such as educational curriculum and founding circle, which are practical and not theoretical contents.

The Relationship Between Error Management Culture and Job Satisfaction-organizational Commitment - The Analysis of Interaction Effect on Social Worker's Psychological Capital - (오류관리문화와 직무만족 및 조직몰입과의 관계 - 사회복지사의 심리적 자본과의 상호작용효과 분석 -)

  • The purpose of the study is to examine the effect of error management culture and psychological capital on job satisfaction and organizational commitment from social workers. This study was focused on the relationship between error management culture, psychological capital and job satisfaction and organizational commitment, controlled organizational fairness. The data was collected from social workers in Seoul, Kyunggi areas using stratified sampling method. A total of 564 social workers and 89 human service organizations were finally used for multilevel analysis. The survey had conducted for 18 days, from October 27 to November 13 in 2009 by mail. The major finding of this study are as follows. First, interaction effect between error management culture and psychological capital was significant job satisfaction and organizational commitment in positive direction. Second, main effect of error management culture in human service organizations was positively significant job satisfaction and organizational commitment on social workers. So it was important to enhance the level of error management culture in order to increase the job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Third, main effect of psychological capital on social workers was positively significant job satisfaction and organizational commitment. According to the results of this study, it was suggested the theoretical and practical implications for increasing and strengthen the error management culture and psychological capital.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a music teacher training program for global citizenship education and explore its effects on the participants' capacity for global citizenship. The program focused on multicultural education, including diversity and tolerance, among various topics in global citizenship education and consisted of practice to develop lesson plans for middle school music classes as well as theory about music in diverse sociocultural environments. The results showed that this program positively affected the participants' attitudes about a music teacher's role in the multicultural classroom. This program enabled participants to identify and reflect on any prejudice they may have against diversity and multiculturalism and to consider the role of music teachers in multicultural learning environments. The program also helped the participants develop greater self-efficacy as music teachers in multicultural environments and see music as a symbolic expression and a social and cultural product. Finally, the participants showed their positive attitude toward transformative pedagogy and considered various topics in global citizenship education beyond diversity and multiculturalism through multilateral understanding and exploration about music based on theory and practice in global citizenship education.

Secondary Grammaticalization and English Adverbial Tense (이차적 문법화와 영어부사의 시제)

  • The primary aim of this paper is to discuss the historical development or grammaticalization of English adverbial -ly suffix and provide a diachronic analysis of manner adverbs and sentence adverbs from the perspective of secondary grammaticalization. The grammaticalization includes both the primary grammaticalization from a lexical to a grammatical and the secondary grammaticalization from a less grammatical to a more grammatical status. The emergence of the manner adverbs is due to the primary grammaticalization from OE adjectival suffix -lic to ME adverbial suffix -ly. In contrast, the emergence of sentence adverbs is due to the secondary grammaticalization from manner adverbs in VP domain to sentence adverbs in TP domain with grammatical features of tense and modality. This paper concludes that the secondary grammaticalization of the English adverbial -ly suffix includes the change from manner adverbs to sentence adverbs which obtain a new grammatical function of tense and modality.

Tea Culture Convergence Program Impact on improving communication in the elderly (차문화 융합 프로그램이 이용시설 노인의 의사소통 향상에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect on improving communication by conducting a tea culture convergence program for elderly people using facilities. The subjects of this study consisted of a tea culture convergence program for 3 months, 60 minutes once a week for 7 people using the Elderly Day Care Center in the H-S S welfare center. Psychological and behavioral changes related to communication by sessions were compared by comparing elderly patients at each session of the Tea Culture Convergence Program.Tea culture convergence program was found to have a positive effect on behaviors and attitudes related to communication among the elderly in the facilities. As a result of analyzing pre- and post-action and attitudes, the Tea Culture Convergence Program brought positive changes in communication by acting as emotional and social support for the elderly. These findings suggest that the Tea Culture Convergence Program is a psychologically necessary program for the elderly in that it shows that the Tea Culture Convergence Program is an effective program that promotes communication among the elderly in the facilities.
