자살은 인류 역사의 시작과 함께 시작되어 시대의 변화나 문화의 차이에도 불구하고, 인류와 함께 있어 왔다. 우리나라는 최근 급속한 자살 사망률의 증가로 인해 자살이 심각한 보건학적, 사회적 문제가 되고 있다. 특히 IMF 경제위기를 겪으면서 실업, 빈곤화, 가족해체 등은 IMF경제위기 이전보다 자살사망률이 급증하는 결과를 초래하였다. 또한 기존의 가족이나 사회문제, 교육문제 등으로 인해 취약한 정신건강상태로 인해 자살욕구에 대한 전염력이 강한 청소년과 젊은 청년층에게 ‘자살 사이트’라는 인터넷 매체로의 접근은 자살이라는 전염병의 새로운 감염경로가 되고 있다. 이것은 국민들의 정신건강 상태가 위험수위에 이르고 있음을 나타낸다. 온전한 정신 건강은 육체적 건강을 위한 필수조건일 뿐만 아니라 활기찬 생활의 바탕이 된다.

The concepts of entrepreneurship are very various. So many researchers are confused or not sure of the concepts of entrepreneurship. Likewise, the concept of entrepreneur are very various, and confused of the concepts of entrepreneur. This study try to set a comprehensive conceptual model of concepts of entrepreneurs. This model suggest a prototype model of entrepreneur with historical context and anthropological approach.

This article challenges necessity of interdisciplinary studies between anthropology and marketing for more effective applications of ethnography in marketing fields. Anthropologist, Yong Sook Lee recently submitted an article about "application of ethnography in marketing fields" to open plaza at Korean Journal of Marketing. While she provides anthropologist' perspectives about applications of ethnography in marketing fields, this article attempts to enhance the marketers' understanding about ethnography by providing marketers's perspectives about the same issues.

The characteristic of mutant has long history, which is shown in various science fictions. There are different types and characters like Satyrs from Ancient Greek to superheroes in present. In fact, however, mutant as a cultural content has not been discussed sufficiently in Korea, even if related analyses were required indeed. In the thesis the characteristic and types of 'Homo Mutant' will be introduced and analyzed in many aspects and look for the reason why 'Homo Mutant' can be revealed and apply for further possibilities.

This paper presents an overview of theories about ethnomathematics to seek for implications for multicultural mathematics education. Initiated by anthropological inquiries into mathematics outside of Europe, research of ethnomathematics has revealed the facets of mathematics as a historicocultural construct of a community. Specifically, it has been shown that mathematics is culturally relative knowledge system situated within a certain communal epistemological norms. This implies that indigenous mathematics, which had traditionally been regarded as primitive and marginal knowledge, is a historicocultural construct whose legitimacy is conferred by the system of the communal epistemological norms. The recognition of the cultural facets in mathematics has faciliated the reconsideration of what is legitimate mathematics. what is mathematical competence, and what teaching and learning mathematics is an about. This paper inquires multicultral discourses of mathematics education that research of ethnomathematics provides and identifies its implications concerning multicultural mathematics education.

The purpose of this article is to awaken our colleagues to the culture and mind issues that have been forgotten or neglected by contemporary psychiatry under the prevalence of materialistic orientation. Cultural psychiatry too, though it has been contributed a great deal to widen the mental vision of psychiatry, has revealed several limitations in its approach. In the course of one sided search for culture specific factors in relation to mental health, conventional cultural psychiatry has neglected an effort to explore the common root underlying the different cultures and the common foundation of human mind. Cross sectional comparisons of the cultures alone have inevitably prevented the global considerations to culutre and mind in historical aspects and the dynamic interactions between mind and culture more in depth. The author suggested that the total view of mind and total approach of analytical psychology of C.G. Jung might be capable to replenish those limitations. Author explained the ways of C.G. Jung's observations and experiences of non-western culture and his concepts of culture and mind. The author demonstrated Jung's view of culture with the example of Filial Piety, Hyo, the Confucian moral norm which can be regarded as components of the collective consciousness though connected with archetypal patterns of behavior of intimacy between parent and child. In regard to the coexistence of multi-religious cultures in Korea the author made a proposal of 'culture spectrum' model for understanding value orientations of person in religious cultures. He identified in case of the Korean 4 types of cultural spectrums: Person with predominantly the Buddhist culture; with the Confucian; with the Shamanist; and with the Christian culture. The author also made an attempt to depict the dynamic interactions of different religious cultures in historical perspectives of Korea. Concepts of mind from the Eastern thoughts were reviewed in comparison with Jung's view of mind. The Dao of Lao Zi, One Mind by Wonhyo, the Korean Zen master from the 7th century, the Diagram of the Heaven's Decree by Toegye, a renowned Neo-Confucianist of Korea from the 16th century and his theory of Li-Ki, were explored and came to conclusion that they represent certainly the symbol of the Self in term of C.G. Jung. The goal of healing is 'the becoming whole person'. Becoming whole person means bringing the person as an individual to live not only within the specific culture but also to live in the world beyond the culture which is deeply rooted in the primordial foundation of human mind.

In this study, I examine what is called character. It is to establish what constitutes a relationship between life, culture, and education. In addition, I try to explore the possibility of anthropology of education as an academic basis for character education by using the way of '문 질빈빈(文質彬彬)'. As a result of the study, 'character' in terms of '문(culturality)' aspect implies the qualities, the nature, the disposition, and the meaning of virtue. A 'character education' can be seen in school education as a moral consideration, considering the social context, such as the ability to live harmoniously. In terms of '질(naturality)', I will look at both the innate aspect of the character and the acquired aspect through the 'character' which is the essence of character. Character is the concept of both parties, and if it is influenced by an external environment, one can seek better ways to improve the chances of improvement through education. Furthermore, the role of education is inevitably required in order to achieve the goal of 'lesser human being' to 'better human being'. Home and school education can have a positive impact on the character. An honest mind about humanity among family members is the right character. The importance of humanity is considered as a value to be recognized and protected in our society because the logic that it protects the family by character and helps to maintain the social order influences to the legal culture tradition of the modern. Therefore, the academic approach through anthropology of education has sufficient value of trial study for exploring the relationship between character, education, and culture for teachers and learners, and is appropriate for providing an academic foundation.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the possibility of creating new theatrical contents by performance anthropological approach. Today's traditional performing arts are historically descended and developed in the forms of Ahk, Hee, and Geuk. Among those, Dongrae-yaru is a traditional mask dance, handed down in Dongrae, Pusan and appointed as the 18th intangible cultural asset. Its performance is carried out in the juxtaposition of Ahk, Hee, and Geuk. Korean theatre in the 21st century seems going back to realism after going through post-modern cultural phenomenons. However, the quest for alternative theatre is raised higher than ever. As a part of this strive, this paper asserts the traditional performing arts should be investigated as an alternative and new theatrical form. Among those traditional performing arts, Dongrae-yaru is selected for its well balanced combination of Ahk, Hee, and Geuk. The study examines in depth how each element of Ahk, Hee, and Geuk, they are expressed in forms of folk music, refined dance, jest, satire, wit. Its investigation on the stage adaptation provides the possibility for the new style and codification as the new theatre contents.

In the past, holy sites were mainly designated on a basis of archaeological norms and endowed with a specific fixed identity according to historical, religious, and contextual interpretations. However, approaches to these sites are more flexible in recent times. These locations transcend the boundaries of space and time to enable the experience of diverse transformation and reveal multiple religious identities which are embedded in the complex interaction between power and authority. In this regard, the dynamic meanings of the religious symbology of Daesoon Jinrihoe's temple complexes, imagery, and the spatial structures enable us to grant them a new identity by re-establishing these structures as World Heritage sites. Temple complexes (dojang) correspond to the outstanding universal values identified by UNESCO in that the spiritual activities conducted at these holy sites draw the same attention as would be drawn by historical value. In this context, this study aims to explore the potential for Daesoon Jinrihoe's temple complexes to be designated UNESCO world heritage sites. To carry out this study, existing religious heritage sites such as Mount Athos Monasteries in Greece and Lumbini in Nepal are examined as case studies, and the operational plan, conservation, protection of relics, and interaction with its neighboring community and tourists are likewise closely examined in this study.
