An Evaluation Scheme on Feasibility in Public Sector for 3D Geo-Spatial Information - Focusing on Production of Digital Mapping (3차원 공간정보의 공공부문 사업성 평가 방안 - 2차원 수치지도 제작 업무를 대상으로)

  • In order to carry out efficient investment and successful business in national geo-spatial industry, economic assessment on the field of 3D geo-information has recently emerged as a serious issue. Therefore, this study is intended to offer cost-effective evaluation scheme which are proper for 3D geo-spatial information, especially focusing on development of orthophoto and DEM. The study is organized as follows. The first section clarifies preliminary rules for feasibility by defining target work and category in order to estimate benefit. Then, this paper will be limited to consideration of production of digital mapping for target business which is expected to create high value and its benefit from cost reduction is suggested. Drawing from the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) methods, this study comprehensively described final result and implication to examine business value. Consequently, this study can suggest economical evaluation methods on 3D geo-spatial information industry, which takes up a considerable part of immaterial benefit and has difficulties in economic assessment and estimation. preventing a variety of errors in system operation in advance.

Antioxidant action of Bombycis corpus extraction in renal tissues (신장조직(腎臟組織)에서 백강잠 추출물(抽出物)의 항산화(抗酸化) 작용(作用)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • This study was undertaken to determine whether Bombycis Corpus extract (Bom) has antioxidant action. Kidney tissues were exposed to t-butylhydroperoxide (t-BHP) to induce oxidative stress. Lipid peroxidation was estimated by measuring malondialdehyde, a product of lipid peroxidation, and cell injury was estimated by measuring lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release in rabbit renal cortical slices. t-BHP increased lipid peroxidation and LDH release in a dose-dependent manner over the concentration range of 0.1-1 mM. Such effects of t-BHP on lipid peroxidase and LDH release were prevented by 0.5% Bom. When tissues were treated with t-BHP in the presence of various concentrations of Bom, lipid peroxidation and LDH release were dose-dependently inhibited by Bom. Bom at 1 and 2% concentrations inhibited lipid peroxidation and LDH release in normal tissues. Bom at 2% concentration increased glutathione peroxidase activity in tissues treated or untreated with 1.0 mM t-BHP. However, catalase activity was not altered by addition of Bom. Bom inhibited generation of reactive oxygen species. These results indicate that Bom inhibits lipid peroxidation and cell injury in tissues treated with or without oxidant and this effect is, at least in part, attributed to increased activity of glutathione peroxidase and a direct sacvenging action.

  • Unlike the era of manufacturing-oriented industrial economy in the past, the era of service economy has characteristics intangible goods center, knowledge universalization, and expansion of needs, and many things that are of the economy are changing. In the past, the change in the environment was not fast, so even after analyzing the changed environment and deriving the talent needed for the company, it was possible to maintain a talent for the organization for a long time, so it is not proactive to build and apply talent. It became difficult to manage effectively. Therefore, in this paper, we conducted a normative study for deriving a desirable talent model rather than a descriptive human resource model. Human resources image suitable for the modern service economy era, the modern economic society and modern spirit were analyzed and reflected. The model in which the two opposing members of the organization, managers and employees, interact intensely and balance dialectically. A desirable talent in a modern organization must play the role of a manager, and the management and talent models in a modern organization can be said to be connected to each other like the front and back sides of a coin. The philosophy of human resources was presented in five dimensions: human, historical, social, economic, and management. The human resource model from eight factors: mastery, rationality, wisdom, customer orientation, innovation, flexibility, autonomy, collaboration. This study suggested that general talent model may vary depending on the company's type, empirical follow-up studies are needed the talents in each company in the future.

A Basic Analysis on the Operation of the Cultural Heritage Committee (부록 1. 문화재위원회의 역할에 관한 기초적 분석)

  • The Cultural Heritage Committee is an advisory committee established under the Cultural Heritage Administration with the aim of carrying out examination and deliberation on preservation, management and use of cultural properties. The Cultural Heritage Administration is responsible for Korean cultural properties. It was found to produce and execute policies on cultural properties, which involves in-depth investigation and consultation of experts in the fields of cultural properties. In here the Cultural Heritage Committee plays an important role in policy-making on Korean cultural properties. Governmental committees in Korea are largely divided into consultation committees and administrative commissions. Consultation committees are subdivided into consultation, deliberation and legislative committees. The Korean government established the Bureau of Cultural Properties in October 1961, and enacted provisions (as a presidential decree) on March 27, 1962, by the Cultural Properties Act, January 10, 1962. The Cultural Heritage Committee was opened as a deliberation committee which covers the entirety of cultural properties, including designation and cancellation of cultural properties, on which currently 120 members serve in 9 subcommittees. The committee member hold two years membership. This analysis contains a frame and scheme of the committee, function and statue of the current operation and study on role of a deliberation committee.

The Analysis of Investment Determinants in Angel Investors: Focus on the Financial Characteristics (엔젤투자자의 투자의사 결정요인 분석: 재무적 특성을 중심으로)

  • This paper investigates the financial factors affecting angel investors' investment decisions for 818 firms from 2009 to 2018 in the Korean venture investment market. We construct a quasi-experimental design using propensity scoring matching and compare the investment determinants between investment firms and matching firms. The main empirical findings are as follows. First, we find that angel investors are more likely to choose firms based on a firm's growth such as profit and assets rather than profitability or financial stability. In addition, we identify that they prefer the firm not only higher intangible assets but also higher R&D expenditures. Second, we find that angel investors consider both growth and activity ratios in the firms for over three years and have entered the mid-stage of startups. Overall, we confirm that the investment decision of angel investors mainly focuses on the venture startups' growth trend or future growth potential rather than the realized profitability or financial stability. We also infer that the possibility of performance creation is an important investment factor along with growth for the mid-stage startup.

  • Due to the recent mid- to long-term slump and falling growth rates in the global economy, interest in organizational structures that create new products or services as a new alternative to survive and develop in an opaque environment both internally and externally, and enhance organizational sustainability through changes in production methods and business innovation is increasing day by day. In this atmosphere, we agree that the growth of small and medium-sized venture companies has a significant impact on the national economy, and various efforts are being made to enhance the technological innovation capabilities of the members so that these small and medium-sized venture companies can enhance and sustain their performance. The purpose of this study is also to investigate how the technological innovation capabilities of small and medium-sized venture companies correlate with the performance of knowledge management and to analyze the role of network capabilities to organize the strategic activities of enterprise to obtain the resources and organizational capabilities to be used for value creation from external networks. In other words, research was conducted on the impact of technological innovation capabilities of small and medium venture companies on knowledge management performance by using network capabilities as parameters. Therefore, in this study, we would like to verify the hypothesis that innovation capabilities will have a positive impact on knowledge management performance by using network capabilities of small and medium venture companies. Economic activities based on technological innovation capabilities should respond quickly to new changes in an environment where uncertainty has increased, and lead to macro-economic growth and development as well as overcoming long-term economic downturns so that they can become the nation's new growth engine as well as sustainable growth and survival of the organization. In addition, this study was conducted by setting the most important knowledge management performance within the organization as a dependent variable. As a result, R&D and learning capabilities among technological innovation capabilities have no impact on financial performance. In contrast, it was shown that corporate innovation activities have a positive impact on both financial and non-financial performance. The fact that non-financial factors such as quality and productivity improvement are identified in the management of small and medium-sized venture companies utilizing their technological innovation capabilities is contrary to a number of studies by those corporate innovation activities affect financial performance during prior research. The reason for this result is that research companies have been out of start-up companies for more than seven years, but sales are less than 10 billion won, and unlike start-up companies, R&D and learning capabilities have more positive effects on intangible non-financial performance than financial performance. Corporate innovation activities have been shown to have a positive (+) impact on both financial and non-financial performance, while R&D and learning capabilities have a positive (+) impact on financial performance by parameters of network capability. Corporate innovation activities have been shown to have no impact on both financial and non-financial performance, and R&D and learning capabilities have no impact on non-financial performance. It could be seen that the parameter effects of network competency are limited to when R&D and learning competencies are derived from quantitative financial performance. A Study on the Influence of Service Nature by Service Industry on Job Performance (서비스산업별 서비스본질이 직무성과에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • In the modern economic area of service-based logic, the importance of the service industry continues to increase. Yet in spite of the various promotional policies of the government, growth remains at a standstill. It is now time to turn away from the outwardly visible form of the issue and to contemplate its root cause. This study thus investigated the service essentials based on philosophical thought in order to secure the continuous growth and competitive advantage of a service industry with an unshakable foundation. The effect of service essentials on job performance by service industry was also empirically analyzed. To conduct the study, a research hypothesis was verified by using the final 900 copies of survey data for service industry workers for data analysis. The results of the study on service essentials showed that interaction and harmony were found to have a positive effect on job performance in the transportation industry, while it verified the positive effects on job performance for interactivity and horizontality in the finance and insurance industry, and interactivity, horizontality and harmony in the hotel and resort industries. As a result, it was confirmed that service essentials had a partial effect on performance in the service industry. Various and in-depth studies on service essentials are thus required in the future, and it is also necessary to expand the parameters or adjustment variables that are capable of affecting performance.

The Impact of Corporate's Name Change on Cost of Capital (상호변경이 내재자본비용에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigates whether and how a firm's cost of equity is influenced by the extent of a firms's name change. Even though corporate name change doesn't give any benefit to investors, it can be a signaling about firm's future valuation. And also, if that signaling has high credibility, it can be decrease information cost and the firm's cost of equity. on the contrary to this, if corporate name change is kind of break with the past and corporate image laundering, it is bad signaling to investors. So it can be increase information risk and the firm's cost of equity. Using yearly cross-sectional regressions of the cost of equity on our proxies for corporate name change, size, beta, market-to-book ratio and other innate risk factor over the 2005-2010, we find that the cost of capital is positively associated with corporate name change after controlling for all other factors. This result implies that corporate name change increase information risk of the business, and thus increase information asymmetries between managers and outside investors with respect to a firm's true future value. This increases information risk, and creates an adverse selection problem, on the part of outside investors. Rational investors therefore demand a premium for bearing this corporate name change-related information risk, which in turn leads us to observe a positive relation between the intensity of corporate name change and the cost of equity.

  • Ulsan Dutbeki is a local dance handed down by the Ulsan people through custom. This study was discussed on the locality of Ulsan Dutbeki. The method of this study is as follows. First of all, the perception of Dutbeki from the perspective of Ulsan's local characteristic. First, Ulsan Dutbeki is based on the local characteristic of the southeastern coastal area of the Korean peninsula. Second, Dutbeki features local characteristics of Ulsan as a military cultural area. Third, in Dutbeki, there is a local culture of Ulsan which was originated from the village Dongjeol and outdoor performances. Next, the researcher perceived Ulsan Dutbeki which had been handed down through custom and approached its shape. The origins of the shape are, firstly, the speech tone and gestures of Ulsan people. Secondly, folk plays related to worshiping martial arts and military training. Thirdly, the characteristics of the Dutbeki dance in coastal areas of Gyeongsangdo. Fourth, local custom displayed at the village festival of Ulsan. Ulsan is a region of Gyeongsang culture area and has similarity with other localities. However, this study limited its comparisons with regard to Dutbeki that were originated from the local characteristics of other regions. The results of this study recognized Ulsan Dutbeki as a local dance in Ulsan area. In other words, this study perceived Dutbeki, which had been an entertaining component of traditional lifestyle, as an intangible cultural heritage and studied the form in every conceivable way from an artistic point of view.

Operational Spillover Effects within Business Groups : Evidence of Korean Chaebols (대규모 기업집단 내에서 운영관리 성과의 전이효과 : 한국 재벌 구조를 중심으로)

  • The aim of this study is to empirically explore the operational spillover effect among companies within chaebol groups, prominent corporate conglomerates in South Korea. Chaebols are known for their horizontal and vertical integration, fostering close collaboration among their constituent companies from a supply chain standpoint. Existing literature highlights the sharing of tangible and intangible resources within chaebol structures, leading to increased efficiency by minimizing transaction costs through resource sharing. This research investigates whether operational management performance within chaebol structures can be transmitted through cooperative resource utilization. To achieve this objective, we categorize leading companies and affiliate companies within chaebols and examine whether the operational management performance of leading companies significantly influences that of affiliate companies. Data on conglomerates, as defined by the Korea Fair Trade Commission, were collected, along with information on companies within these groups. Subsequently, the company with the highest revenue within each group was identified as the leading company, while the remaining companies were designated as affiliate companies. Our analysis reveals a significant positive relationship between the performance of inventory and facility resource management of leading companies and that of affiliate companies. This study sheds light on the transfer of operational management performance within conglomerates from a managerial perspective, underscoring the importance of reinforcing cooperation systems within the chaebol group. Furthermore, this research contributes to the academic discourse by delineating conglomerates from an operational management perspective and empirically demonstrating the transfer effect of operational management performance.
