Purpose: This study was conducted to develop and implement an education program based on the Whole Brain Model for novice nurses, and to evaluate its effects on work performance, interpersonal skills and self-efficacy. Methods: A pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design was used with an experimental group (n=20) and a control group (n=21). The experimental group participated in an education program based on the Whole Brain Model for seven sessions over 4 weeks. An independent t-test, χ2-test, and Mann-Whitney U test were performed to analyze the data. Results: There were statistically significant differences in work performance (p=.015), interpersonal skills (p=.014) and self-efficacy (p=.021) between the experimental and the control group. Conclusion: This program was an effective learning strategy to enhance nursing competence for novice nurses. The novice nurses who participated this program were able to reflect deeply on themselves, improve interpersonal skills, and induce whole-brain integrated thinking in learning how to solve the problems caused by changes in patient conditions that can be experienced in clinical practice. Therefore, this program can be recommended for regular continuing education for novice nurses.
Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of an arthritis self-management program on elderly women living alone in the community. Frequency analysis, reliability test, correlation analysis, and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were performed using SPSS 18.0 Program with the collected data, and the results are as follows. In summary, training programs, services, and promotional environment were identified to be important criteria to select the street dance institutes by the learners while the low level of perception on the price was found.
The study of complementary medicine for the mental illness of modern people has been made up of academic fields. Psychotherapy, art therapy, literary therapy and dance therapy are among them, but these non-integrated studies are extremely limited to apply to reality. Collaboration with the medical community seeking supplementary measures after drug treatment is also a problem, and it is even more difficult to institutionalize them in a policy way. In response, the study suggested a shift to a space-oriented treatment paradigm by studying the value of space that most treatment programs value. Based on the theory of integrated literature therapy developed in Germany and introduced into Korea, the Tetra system was applied to one of Korea's cultural heritages. And I presented a sample of how to program the characteristics of the old house space. Kwon Seong-baek old house in Andong was considered a representative space and analyzed. As a similar case, we looked at the Healian Sun Village, the Knife Village in Germany, and the Temple Stay of Bongeunsa Temple to find out the actual conditions of space utilization. Accordingly, space treatment programs such as walking, writing poems, reading poems, and writing letters were presented by analyzing old houses with a Tetra system. This is significant as the first study to incorporate spatialization and placeability into the program.
A purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of 12-Weeks regular physical activities on female senior adults aging related hormone(HGH, DHEA-S, estrogen) levels and a risk factor in cardiovascular disease(adiponectin, hs-CRP). Twenty female senior adults participated in this study and divided intoexercise group(n=10) and control group(n=10). The Korean traditional dance program was conducted three times a week(60min) for 12-weeks. Paired t-test was used to examone the differences within experimental groups and independent t-test was used to changes the differences between groups. The followings are the results of this study. Estrogen(p=0.025), HGH(p=0.009), DHEA-S(p=0.009), adiponectin(p=0.014) was significantly increased after 12-weeks program for exercise group, And hs-CRP(p=0.010) was significantly decreased for exercise group. Estrogen(p=0.006), DHEA-S(p<.0.002), adiponectin(p=0.008), hs-CRP(p=0.004) was significantly changed between exercise group and control group.

K-POP plays a key role in the Korean Wave and is becoming more popular over time. In K-POP, K-POP dance plays an important role in increasing public interest and support and reflects the taste of the audience according to the rapidly changing times. In addition, it has a variety of unique choreography forms, such as point choreography and dance that is perfectly in sync associated with the lyrics of the song, so it has sufficient possibility to raise its status independently. In order to examine the fact that K-POP dance is not an element included in K-POP, this researcher tried to investigate the case of interest in -K-POP dance in various ways and to clarify the meaning of the existence of K-POP dance once again. K-POP dance is gaining international interest and support through the mass media through various examples, raising the awareness of choreographers. In addition, created the integration of various races and ages. It also continues to help the country's economic growth while expanding to education. It also serves as a cultural notification in that it promotes Korean culture and manners along with -K-POP dance. However, this researcher emphasizes that for the continuous growth and independence of K-POP dance in the future, a program to cultivate systematic educators are needed, and the efforts of K-POP dance educators and choreographers are needed accordingly.
There is a general consensus that fate of the differentiated welfare state had fallen into the brink of demise during the 1970s while the integrated welfare state model has emerged instead. Indications are all that such trend spotlights occupational welfare which has been relatively neglected, especially, in the field of social welfare. Nevertheless, the occupational welfare system in Korea faced crisis due to two major incidents. One is the IMP crisis which necessitates massive scale of restructuring of the general fabric of the Korean business and industry. There is little doubt that the economic crisis will surely cut down occupational welfare expenditure substantially. The other is a report released by the Korean Labor Research Institute which argus that there is no correlation between the Korean occupational welfare system and labor productivity. Thorough investigation of the Korean occupational welfare system suggests that current system is so outdated that it doesn't meet needs of the industrial workforce which, in turn, fails to enhance workers productivity. Consequently, a need for new paradigm and system arises and employee assistance program(EAP) emerges as a viable alternative. EAP is thoroughly delianeated of it's definition, motivations, functions, ingredients, historical background as well as cost-effectiveness. But major tasks center around an investigation and an analysis of it's applicability. In-depth analysis was carried out on the issue of it's indispensable natures and stumbling blocks on the way to lay it's root in the Korean industrial environment. It seems harder than the herculean task. However, EAP is not simply an alternative but is rather a pressing imperative for the present occupational welfare system in Korea which stands at the crossroad.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of exercise program for prevention of falling on physical fitness, posture and fall prevention self-efficacy for elderly women. 30 females above the age of 65 were subjects for this study. Over an twelve week period, 14women in the experimental group performed exercise 2 times a week for 60 minutes per session. 16women in the control group didn't participate in the exercise program. The independent variable was a exercise program for prevention of falling. Dependent variables were physical fitness, posture and fall prevention self-efficacy. Prevention of falling exercise program is consisted of an elastic band using exercise and Korean dance movement exercise. Physical fitness consisted of grip strength, upper and lower body endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, balance, coordination. The posture was measured the static posture when standing, using a high-resolution camera, body style to automatically measure the distance and angle(M-zen, Korea). Posture was measured in both the coronal and sagittal plane via reference board. Fall prevention self-efficacy was measured via questionnaire using the Korea Falls Self-Efficacy Scale (FES-K). The physical fitness, posture and fall prevention self-efficacy were measured twice with pre and post exercise, and the difference between groups with Wilcox signed rank test, and the group-specific post verification was carried out with U-validated methods (Mann Whitney U test). Statistical significance level was verified by setting the p<.05. Lower body endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, balance and coordination significantly increased in the experimental group. The control group was no significant increase in physical fitness variables. shoulder slope angle, pelvic slope angle(coronal/sagittal), leg length difference, scapular inferior angle and left/right calcaneus angle significantly decreased in the experimental group. Both the experimental group and control group were no significant increase in fall prevention self efficacy. The prevention of falling exercise program for elderly women indicated the positive changes in physical fitness(except grip strength) and posture(except upper body slope). However, there are no significant differences of falling prevention self-efficacy between the both group. Thus, the prevention of falling exercise program for the elderly has been proved that it is highly efficient on improving physical fitness and posture proofreading. However, we still need to consider supplement exercise for grip strength and upper body slope.
Purpose: This study was to test the effects of wholistic hospice nursing intervention program on pain and anxiety for in-patient of hospice palliative care unit. This study's design was one-group pre-post test quasi- experimental research. Methods: The subjects of study were 27 patients who were over 18 years old and admitted in hospice palliative care unit of S hospital in P city with agreement in hospice palliative care in their terminal disease. The experimental group subjects participated in holistic hospice nursing program took 120 minutes per session, a total of 1,200 minutes altogether for 10 sessions. The period of data collection was from April 6, 2004 to April 20, 2005. The collected data were analyzed by Paired t-test with SPSS/WIN 12.0 program. A Wholistic Hospice Nursing Intervention Program (named ‘Rainbow Program’) was used as a experimental tool in this study. This was developed by the authors. It was provided by interdisciplinary hospice team (nurses, medical doctors, social worker, pastors, art therapists, and volunteers). In addition, Korean Version of Brief Pain Inventory (BPI-K) by Young-Ho Yun(1998) was used to test degree of pain in physical aspect. And State-Anxiety Inventory was developed by Spielberger(1975) and translated by Kim, Jung-Tack & Shin, Dong-Gyun(1978) was used to test the degree of state-anxiety in emotional aspect. Results: (1) Hypothesis No. 1 "The experimental group which received Wholistic Hospice Nursing Program will have a lower degree of pain than before" was supported (t=-10.585, P= .000). (2) Hypothesis No. 2 "The experimental group which received Wholistic Hospice Nursing Program will have a lower degree of state-anxiety than before" was supported (t=-8.234, P= .000). Conclusion: Our results testified that this Wholistic Hospice Nursing Intervention Program was effective to decrease pain and state-anxiety of the in-patients of hospice palliative care unit. Therefore it can be used and applied actively in practice as a useful model of interdisciplinary team approach by hospice professionals in hospice palliative care unit.
