  • The objective of this study is to suggest problems and complementation of Korean curriculum by comparatively analyzing curriculums of domestic/foreign musical-related departments. In order to compare differences in domestic/foreign curriculums, selecting musical-related departments of domestic colleges with four-year course and 2 or 3-year course, and also five musical-related schools in the US and another five schools in France, the actual lesson status of dance curriculum was researched. In the results, for the development of Korean musical, it would be necessary to reorganize its curriculum. First, the systematic dance curriculum suitable for musical site would be needed. Second, the dance technique lesson suitable for diversified musical expressions should be strengthened. Third, teaching methods for the characterized musical dance would be necessary. Above all, we need effective education method concerned with performance venues. Musical students are facing difficulties in performing acting, singing, and dancing at the same time. In reality, it is even tough to learn a single area among them. For the original Korean-style musical that could be imitated by no one, the systematic curriculum of college is very important.

  • The study was conducted to verify the causality of the ability of high school and college dance majors to influence the successful goal orientation and how the change in goal affects the sense of dance performance self-confidence. In this regard, 172 dance majors were collected to collect data on their belief in dance ability, the direction of mastery goal of approach and avoidance, and the measure of confidence in dance performance, and the results of their studies were derived through correlation and structural equation analysis and path analysis. The analysis results showed reasonable factor structure and reliability based on the preceding study of feasibility analysis results between variables. Thus, the structural equation for the study variables confirmed that the theoretical hypothesis was suitable, and the path of each variable was verified through the path analysis. The analysis showed that the increased belief that ability can be improved by effort has been found to improve the effort and consequently the confidence in dancing. Also, the fixed belief that ability is not changing in a fixed sense has been found to affect the avoidance goal and reduce confidence. It can be interpreted that the more one believes that one can change one's ability by effort, the more one strengthens one's actions to achieve one's goal, thereby improving one's dance confidence. Therefore, it is deemed necessary for subsequent studies to explore whether the paths of these models differ by their major or dance careers, and to apply variables that can measure the success or failure of actual performances to enhance the explanatory power of these research variables.

  • This study predicts and raises the changes that AI will bring to dance art when machine-based choreography began, and finds questions we can ask as human artists. Research suggests that one of the crises of dance in the era of machine creative arts is that artificial intelligence does not stay in the tool of human choreography but becomes the subject of choreography. It is based on the political discourse of choreography that artificial intelligence has the power to control and restrict human dancers. This comes from a sense of crisis that the AI takes over the area of choreography and the human choreographer remains an incompetent coordinator, and as a result, the dancer's dancing body can be reduced to a mechanical body controlled by AI. In order for these concerns not to become a reality, this study proposes three measures. First, choreographer and dancer should develop digital literacy to live in the age of AI art. Secondly, choreographer should acquire the ability to accurately distinguish the roles of human choreographer, dancer, and AI in creative work. Thirdly, various levels of discourse on AI dance should be formed by actively conducting mutual media research of dance and technology. Through these efforts, the human dancer will exist as a subject of art, not a passive agent in the new dance ecosystem brought by the innovation of artificial intelligence technology and will be able to face an era coexistence with artificial intelligence creativily and productively.

  • This study aims to suggest an environment in which audience can play the role of micro-influencers after exploring the factors of satisfaction focusing on audiences who attended the Seoul Dance Film Festival(SeDaFF). In order to meet the research goal, among the audiences who attended SeDaFF, articles mentioning this festival on their SNS were collected and this data was analyzed using the LDA topic model. As a result, the most important satisfaction factor when visiting a dance film festival was the program. It might seem cliché to discuss the importance of programs at film festivals, but through the examination, this study made the case that if the satisfaction factor is met, it is still possible to influence the behavioral intentions and reinforcing the role of a micro-influencer even in a genre with a strong artistic nature and a limit to audience development. Furthermore, this study was intended to contribute to broadening the scope of research on the audience.

  • High school and college students majoring in dance have different types of stress because of their different circumstances and goals. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation between multidimensional perfectionism and eating disorder in high school and college students who are majoring in dance. Questionnaires for eating disorder (Eating Disorder Inventory-2(EDI-2) made by Garner (1990) and adapted by Lee (1998)) and multidimensional perfectionism (Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale(F-MPS) made by Frost (1990) and translated by Hyun (1992) were utilized after the sentences in the questionnaires were partially revised and (rendered more appropriate for?) the purpose of this study. The questionnaires were completed by all of the subjects (n=250), but 32 of them were excluded due to insincere answers. Thus, a total of 218 questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS version 21.0. The results showed that the students with a higher education level and who were more career oriented were more likely to suffer from multidimensional perfectionism and eating disorder. In addition, multidimensional perfectionism (concern about mistakes, constant personal and parental expectation) resulted in the development and maintenance of eating disorder for the students majoring in dance. In conclusion, higher education level and greater career orientation induce greater stress in dance major students and cause them to have an incorrect physical image. Thus, these factors may cause higher psychological pressure leading to multidimensional perfectionism and eating disorder. Therefore, these students need to know how to correctly manage their body weight and how to prevent eating disorder.

  • In the historical trend of Korean dance, Korean traditional dance continues to evolve through the transition to stage dance due to the modernization process, the tangibleization of traditional dance, the reconstruction or re-creation of traditional dance. Moreover, the trend of reconstruction and re-creation of traditional Korean dances has been common in traditional dance performances since the 2000s, with two directions: performance of original restoration and preservation and evolution of traditional dances. Therefore, this study is a study of the change in the form of traditional dance and the process of the evolution of traditional dance, and among them, the change of the traditional paradigm of the Lee Dong-an Ryu Jin-so dance. The paradigm shift of traditional dance was staged through the trend of the times to the extent that the original's meaning and form were not undermined, and we can recognize that the paradigm of traditional dance is a way of introducing new aspects as a way of transmission.

  • This study aims to explore the difficulties of Korean dance instructors targeting senior people and extends the difficulties found to developing PBL problems applicable to the instructors' education. To address the goal, this author employed an open-ended questionnaire consisting of four questions and 1:1 interview and collected data. According to the study results, total nine subfactors were drawn from four difficulties associated with student management, the curriculum, performances, and class environment. First, about difficulties related to student management, 'conflicts between students' and 'demand for personalized class' were explored. Second, regarding difficulties about the curriculum, 'refusal against new teaching methods' and 'level difference according to the ability of acquisition' were explored. Third, concerning difficulties related to having performances, 'lack of time for practicing', 'needs to achieve excellent performances', and 'the administration of organizations in charge' were explored. Fourth, about difficulties associated with class environment, 'environment in general' and 'spatial environment' were explored. Also, based on the difficulties explored from dance instructors for senior people, this researcher has developed four PBL problems through community dance for harmony, joint choreography-based creative dance, playful dance allowing role division, and mirroring-based dance.
