  • Recently the application area of wireless LAN has been increased, rapidly. The application area was limited in indoor, but as the data throughput and performance of wireless LAN becomes better the application is to extend to the Internet connection and wireless bridge in outdoor. In this paper, the data throughput of wireless LAN in mobile environment is measured, and the usability of wireless LAN for Train, Telematics, and LBS is confirmed.

  • In this paper, a new algorithm is proposed for high speed roaming in an Intelligent Train Control System(ITCS) and study on optimized positioning of radio communication equipment. A DCS(Data Communication System) which is a main part of CBTC(Communication Based Train Control) system, is consisted of radio based wireless communication system and wired optical system. In the radio based wireless communication, the position of AP enclosures and antennas shall be optimized for the guaranteed communication channel between wayside and trains both in open aired and tunnelled area. Also a communication channel established between wayside and train shall be maintained while train moves at its maximum speed. This study shows the way of determining the optimal position for the railway side communication equipment in Bundang Line and how to achieve continuous communicating channel for tracking and controlling train.

  • It is decidedly important to ensure QoS(Quality of Service) in order to make it possible a variety of multi-media services and realtime contents services in Wireless networks. One of methods to offer these services is the advanced prediction of Handoff through terminal's directional. In this paper, it is applied that the AP weight for the ground information of peripheral cell and the weight value of history table for the cell frequently visited. Also, it is expected that will be guarant QoS of substantial data in the case of Handoff through exact directional prediction of the next cell by using Kalman Filter algorithm applied GPS coordinates value.

  • 본 논문은 IEEE 802.11 에서 QoS(Quality of Service)를 지원하는 환경에서 낮은 우선순위를 가지는 트래픽이 무선매체를 점유했을 때 TXOP 시간을 동적으로 적용하는 방법을 기술하였다. 본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.11e 환경에서 AP가 Beacon 메시지를 통하여 TXOP 시간을 통보함으로써 매체 접근 시도에 발생하는 충돌 감소와 낮은 우선순위 트래픽의 처리량을 증가하는 기법을 제안한다.

  • 차세대 무선 통신 기술인 Wi-Fi는 이동통신사를 거치지 않고 근처의 AP(Access Point)를 통하여 여러 컨텐츠 제공서버에 접근한다. 그에 따라 사용자는 컨텐츠 제공서버로 위장한 피싱이나, 인증되지 않은 사이트를 통해 악성코드 배포, 사용자 정보유출등과 같은 취약점에 노출되고, 컨텐츠 제공 서버 또한 타인으로 위장한 위장공격등과 같은 취약점에 노출된다. 본 논문에서는 Wi-Fi 환경 내에서 사용자 단말기와 컨텐츠 제공서버간의 상호 인증 방안을 모색하고, 모바일 환경의 특성을 고려한 상호 인증 방안을 제안한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 스마트 폰 등의 영상수신장치들이 원격으로 접속하여 다양한 인터페이스를 갖는 영상취득 장치들 중 하나를 선택하여 제어하면서 해당 영상을 수신할 수 있는 영상송신시스템을 제안한다. 제안하는 영상송신시스템은 우선적으로 야간의 물리적 보안을 위한 영상취득용 초저도 카메라를 위해 고정된 4개의 컴포지트 및 USB CAM 활용을 위한 인터페이스들 및 이를 위한 해당 기능들, 영상수신장치들이 무선으로 접속하여 채널을 확보하기 위한 Soft-AP 기능, 접속된 영상수신장치들에게 해당 영상을 전송하며 이렇게 연결된 다수의 장치를 제어하는 등의 전반적인 관리를 위한 기능 등으로 구성되는데, 이러한 기능들의 소프트웨어적 구현에 비중을 두어 기술한다.

  • LBS (Location Based Service) services are very useful to our daily life and it should be available inside a building: a huge building, a shopping mall, a large scale underground shopping center, and so on where GPS (Global Positioning System) signal is not available. An LBS which is provided inside a building is called an ILBS (Indoor Location Based Service). One of the most important techniques for ILBS development is indoor positioning. Among the indoor positioning techniques, APs (access points) of WLAN based ones are most economical because WLAN is available almost everywhere. Meanwhile, the web service has been proved to be an excellent practice of software reuse. Therefore, if indoor positioning is provided in the form of web service to programmers then development of ILBS would be greatly accelerated. This paper introduces the AP based trilateration and K-NN indoor positioning and RFID based indoor positioning web services we have developed.

Variable Backoff Stage(VBS) Algorithm to Reduce Collisions in IEEE 802.11 DCF (IEEE 802.11 DCF 에서의 충돌 감소를 위한 가변 백오프 스테이지(VBS) 알고리즘)

  • IEEE 802.11 MAC(Media Access Control) defines DCF(Distributed Coordination Function) for data transmission control. BEB(Binary Exponential Backoff) algorithm of DCF has a problem that if the number of stations connected are over a certain threshold, it degrades network performance because of packet collisions caused from the minimum contention window size. To cope with this problem, we proposed a novel algorithm, named as VBS(Variable Backoff Stage) algorithm, which adjusts the rate of backoff stage increment depending on the number of stations associated with an AP(Access Point). Analytic model of proposed algorithm was derived and simulations on the BEB and the VBS algorithms have been conducted on the OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) method. Simulation results showed that when the rate of backoff state increment was 5 and 10, the number of retransmission were reduced to 1/5 and 1/10 comparing to that of BEB, respectively. Our algorithm showed improvement of 19% and 18% in network utilization, respectively. Packet delay was reduced into 1/12.

  • As a possible standardization of wireless local area network (WLAN), IEEE 802.11 LRLP is under discussion in order to support long range and low power (LRLP) communication for internet of things (IoT) including drones and many other IoT devices. In this paper, an efficient adaptive resource unit allocation scheme for uplink multiuser transmission in IEEE 802.11 LRLP networks is proposed. In the proposed scheme, which adopts OFDMA random access based transmission scheme of IEEE 802.11ax, in order to enhance the efficiency of the slotted OFDMA random access, access point (AP) traces the history of the sizes of successfully transmitted uplink data, and adjusts the sizes of resource units for the next uplink multiuser transmission adaptively. Our simulation results corroborate that the proposed scheme significantly improves the system throughput.

  • Recently, as mobile operating system market and wireless communication technology have been rapidly developed, many devices such as smart phones, air conditioners, smart TVs, cleaning robot, and cameras become available with android operating system. Accordingly, collecting variety of information through many everyday use devices with network connections is now enabled. However, in the current market, most devices are controlled individually developed applications, and there is growing need to develop a master application that can control multiple devices. In this paper, we propose and implement a system that can control multiple android-based devices on a Wired/Wireless router(AP) registered through web server. we expect such an effort can attribute to future IoT researches.
