CSMA/CA based Transmission Scheme for QoS Assurance and Energy Efficiency of WPAN Systems (CSMA/CA 경쟁방식 기반의 WPAN 시스템을 위한 QoS 보장 및 에너지 효율적 전송방식)

  • In this paper, we propose a QoS guaranteed and energy-efficient transmission scheme for Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs), which operate in conjunction with contention-based access protocols such as CSMA/CA. Energy consumption is one of the most important issues in WPAN systems, because WPAN devices are often required to operate under limited battery capacity. Furthermore, if the WPAN adopts a contention-based medium access protocol, the energy consumption problem becomes even more critical due to the collisions caused by independent channel access trials. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an algorithm that selects the optimum fragment size, modulation level, and transmission power, in order to minimize the energy consumption and guaranteethe QoS (Quality of Service) requirements, simultaneously. Our simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better performance than the previous ones.

  • As AIS AtoN has worked an essential role for aids to navigation, the World-wide IALA-Net has announced plans to build the system. Systematic beacon network may offer opportunities to make an infrastructure for information service and upgrade AtoN service performance. This paper proposes Aids to Navigation information service network for e-NAV. Network based on AIS is consist of AIS AtoN channels as Real, Synthetic or Virtual AIS AtoN. And inner network is consist of Wireless networks as AIS, WCDMA, WIFI, WIBRO, USN or VSAT. Introducing of various network systems can lead to combine and design aomong land, beacon and service network infrastructures.

  • As the population of camping is increased in campsites and auto camp sites, the electrical equipment can safely supply electricity to users in a variety of electricity bill policy is required in the campsite. In this paper, we develop the vending machine for electricity that can control the outdoor electrical outlet from the management server using the Z-Wave WPAN and android mobile application. The developed vending machine for electricity consists of the management server, the controller, the outdoor outlet box, and the mobile application. The management server provides reservation and electricity bill payment to users. The management server controls the electrical outlet box through the controller to safely supply electricity to users. The controller that is a relay device between the management server and the switch controls switches based on Z-Wave mesh network. Outdoor electrical outlet box has 2 meter switches. We receive the relevant authorization to provide commercial electricity services using the outdoor electrical outlet box in the campsite.

  • IStorage is a technology, which can use resources of server PC by using Android Phone supporting wireless internet access. IStorage utilizes resources of server PC through WebDAV protocol. And with GUI interface, Users upload their resources to the server PC and They can perform various kinds of works like Opening, Searching, Deleting and Downloading files. Since it is possible for them to use resources of server PC as if they are originally stored in their mobile devices, there is no limit on using the functions such as watching movies, listening musics and opening document files in real time. We expect this study can to overcome the limitation of storage space and also be a useful technology in the smart phone market.

  • Nowadays, numerous of valuable internet services are available not only for personal computer but also for mobile appliances in wireless network environment. Therefore, as the amount of contents is increased for those services, the storage limitation on mobile devices has became a significant issue. In this paper, we present a new block-level storage network protocol, iATA (Internet Advanced Technology Attachment) as a solution to the above problem. iATA is designed to transport ATA block-level data and command over the ubiquitous TCP/IP network. With iATA, a mobile appliance is able to access and control the ATA storage devices natively through network from anywhere and at anytime as if the storage devices is attached locally. We describe the concepts, design and diverse consideration of iATA protocol. Based on the benchmark experiments and application exploitation, we strongly believe that iATA as a light-weight protocol is efficient and cost-effective to be used as a storage network protocol on a resource limited device that utilizes common-off-the-shelf storage hardware and existing IP infrastructure.

  • The Growth in wireless Internet has made Networking possible at anytime and anywhere so that application program development is vigorous for mobile service implementation. In particular, mobile service has a feature that can present flexible service at anytime, and anywhere. This study proposes a system which is able to make a remote control of computer by means of mobile as an example of the production of application for such mobile service. This paper researches a RDP(Remote Desktop Protocol), VNC(Virtual Network Computing) system that control screen of remote computer and input devices by using smart-phone. The advantage of this system is the function that turning on and off the computer, file transfer, file upload/download, and paperwork. Therefore users are expected to use more conveniently.

  • Offloading is a method of communicating, processing, and receiving results from some of the applications performed on local computers to overcome the limitations of computing resources and computational speed.Recently, it has been applied in mobile games, multimedia data, 360-degree video processing, and image processing for Internet broadcasting to speed up processing and reduce battery consumption in the mobile computing sector. This paper implements a viewer that enables users to convert various flat-panel images and view contents in a wireless Internet environment and presents actual results of an experiment so that users can easily understand the images. The 360 degree spherical image is successfully converted to a plane image with Double Panorama, Quad, Single Rectangle, 360 Overview + 3 Rectangle depending on the image acquisition position of the 360 degree camera through the interface. During the experiment, more than 100 360 degree spherical images were successfully converted into plane images through the interface below.

  • With the recent commercialization of the next generation of wireless 5G in everyday life, many changes have been made to organizations, industries and businesses of various sizes in various fields. However, although the improved speed and latency of 5G has improved, improvements in encryption, authentication and privacy are still required. In this paper, multiple groups of information management techniques are proposed to efficiently protect users' privacy in the heterogeneous environment of 5G. The proposed technique aims to allow distributed management of users' privacy links by clouding the privacy information generated by different heterogeneous devices to efficiently interface with different groups. Suggestion techniques process user-specific privacy information independently in a virtual space so that users can periodically synchronize their privacy information.

  • With the advent of tiny and inexpensive computer systems like Raspberry Pi, it has become possible to construct an experimental environment of MANETs (Mobile Ad hoc Networks) at a relatively low cost. In this paper, we implement a node of MANETs with a Raspberry Pi equipped with two 802.11 wireless LAN cards and dynamic routing software running on it. In an outdoor MANETs environment with moving mobile nodes automatically rebuilding broken routes, we conducted a real-time video streaming experiment over the MANET. The video stream is transmitted from a node with a video camera installed on it to another node through the route established dynamically. Each node is equipped with a display device, with which the current status of the node can be checked out. We also implemented software that automatically collects data stored in each node and analyzes the performance of the MANETs. Through this experiment, we could evaluate the performance of realistic video streaming service in a MANETs environment.

  • In this study, we design a remote broadcasting system that can output announcement to a remote place using wired/wireless telephone. The designed remote broadcasting system uses the LTE module to amplify the telephone voice received wirelessly through the amplifier and output it. Also, a text message for broadcasting can be sent to a remote broadcasting system through a wired/wireless telephone capable of transmitting a text message, and the remote broadcasting system that receives the broadcasting text message can automatically output the corresponding announcement stored in the voice device. For security reasons, the telephone number of the receiver is analyzed by a comparison algorithm so that only the administrator and registered users can use the system. At this time, the recorded announcement broadcast is outputted through the speaker only when it is confirmed as the registered user. The system designed in this study allows the user to output announcements quickly without being limited by time and place.
