A Efficient Data Transmission Protocol for a Remote Controlled Robot in Wireless Links (무선링크에서 효과적인 로봇제어 데이터 전송 방법)

  • New emerging wireless broadband internet can make many broadband multimedia services. The networked intelligent mobile robot service is one of the new services. In the networked robot control, both the on-line real-time control and the reliability of control data transmission are very important. Considering the real-time control and data reliability, an efficient transmission method based on UDP protocol is proposed. The proposed method allocates the priority to the robot control data and the transmission of the robot data at the base station is carried out in duplicate manner. NS-2 simulation results show that the proposed scheme has a very low packet delay and low packet errors.

Interworking between PPP CHAP and RADIUS Authentication Server on GPRS Network (GPRS 망에서 PPP CHAP과 RADIUS 인증 서버 연계 방안)

  • We usually applied PPP CHAP (Point-to-Point Protocol Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol) when the visited ISP subscriber accesses to authentication server in own home ISP network and IP Assignment for remote Internet service. But PPP CHAP doesn't support in case of visited ISP subscriber in GPRS network accesses to authentication server in own home ISP network for wireless Internet service. We suggest solution this problem with PPP CHAP improvement. For this we propose the modified PPP CHAP message format, PCO Message format at MT, and interworking message and format between GGSN and RADIUS in home ISP network for wireless internet service of mobile ISP subscriber at GPRS network in this paper. We also show authentication results when visited mobile ISP subscriber via PPP CHAP at GPRS network accesses the RADIUS server in home ISP network.

  • 현재 무선인터넷의 중요성이 강조되면서 모바일 단말 장치는 모바일 비즈니스 프로세스에서 중요한 역할을 담당한다. 특히 모바일 장비는 차세대 기술인 임베디드와 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅의 주요 단말 장치이며 개발 대상이다. 앞으로 차세대 이동통신망 중심의 융합 및 이동 단말의 컴퓨팅 능력이 고도화되면 언제, 어디서나, 누구와도 모든 정보를 이용할 수 있는 고속 멀티미디어 통신 환경 즉, 유비쿼터스 환경이 구축될 것이며 향후 이러한 환경에서 모바일 컨버전스 서비스는 특정 시점의 사용자 상황에 적절한 서비스를 제공하는 상황인식의 특성을 가지게 될 것이다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 모바일 컨버전스를 위한 상황인식 에이전트 개발을 위한 컴퓨팅 아키텍처를 정의하고 개발을 용이하기 위해 재사용 가능한 컴포넌트를 기반으로 하여 모바일 컨버전스에 대한 분석 및 설계에 관하여 제시하였다. 이를 통해 모바일 환경에서 재사용성 및 이식성과 에이전트 개발에 대한 시간과 비용에 대한 절감을 기대할 수 있다.

  • Telematics, which is a compound word of a telecommunication and informatics, provides drivers with useful driving information such as driving path guidance, accident or robbery detection, traffic conditions and other valuable data at real time. This paper proposes and implements how to build a telematics terminal equipped with CDMA and GPS running embedded Linux, to check a vehicle's state through communication between telematics server and vehicle terminals using a cellular phone and to control a vehicle using SMS as shown in Figure 1. In order to do this, we use the SK-VM platform which is mobile terminal platform based on JAVA to design, implement and evaluate it.

  • WiBro network technologies developed mainly by Korea are one of very promising 4G technologies. WiBro has been standardized as international standard called Mobile WiMAX, and has been deployed in many countries. Emergency Services in WiBro networks are infrastructure services and will be very essential to induce subscribers from other types of networks. This paper proposes a network architecture for supporting emergency services for WiBro mobile VoIP networks. The proposed architecture is based on WMF's architecture for international compatibilities, and reflects national considerations on interfacing PSAP for domestic compatibilities.

  • The object of this paper is to describe the ubiquitous computing technologies for ship, which is produced and assembled by many steel blocks. It includes the testing of a 2.4GHz wireless communications platforms and radio-frequency identification technology with the blocks disturbing the wireless communication. The power line communication that is established in a ship already is also experimented for some data transfer. Also, possible application areas of the ubiquitous computing technology to ships are discussed. At last, the test bed copied from an actual vessel was installed and data acquisition tests were established using wire and wireless communication. In this paper, we implemented some ubiquitous computing technologies in the test bed simulating a ship environment and investigated the basic characteristics of ubiquitous computing technologies.

  • Mobile and wireless communication technologies to the development of a variety of next-generation mobile networks such as smart phones, tablet PC and mobile terminals will coexist various access networks. In a variety of network service continuity and quality of service degradation due to network conditions, and the EPC network traffic overload phenomenon still remains a problem. In this paper, the EPC network traffic overload in distributed cloud servers is proposed to select. Our proposed scheme using an efficient network handover can provide optimal service according to the network condition.

  • In this paper, we have proposed sideband injection locking method, heterodyne technique, to generate millimeter-wave signal. Microwave signals in cellular broadband mobile communication networks and distributed networks can favorably be generated and distributed by optical techniques. In principle, these techniques have already been investigated for optical control of phase-array antennas, characterization of photo-detector and phase locking of millimeter-wave oscillators and now being applied to wireless communications. The generation and transmission of millimeter-wave radio signals by optical means is of interest for future pico-cell broadband mobile communication system, especially for systems operating at frequencies of tens of GHz applicable to LMDS. We experimented and analysed the generation of millimeter wave signal.

  • In preperation for the compulsory installation of VHF(Very High Frequency) wireless equipment and fishing vessel automatic identification system according to the revision of "The Ships Safety Act" and "Fishing Vessel act", Fishery Information & Communication Department of National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives is building VHF communication network and automatic identification system for fishing vessel monitoring. This study suggests the protocol analysis for the calling of location requirement using DSC(Digital Selective Calling) function and show best way for fishing vessel automatic identification system. Also, it suggest way to realize fishing vessel monitoring system.
