20세기 초반과 중반에 걸쳐 전세계를 전쟁의 참화로 몰아 넣었던 1,2차의 세계 대전은 그 역사적 성격규정을 어떻게 논의하든간에 약육강식의 인위적 폐단을 지양하고 무모한 전쟁으로부터 인류를 보호해야 한다는 더 큰 공통의 명제 앞에 누구도 반론없이 순종했다. 하지만 20세기 말까지 적어도 지역적인 분쟁은 있었지만 국가대 국가간의 그리고 여러 국가가 편을 갈라 싸우는 전쟁을 회피하는데 성공했다.

봄이다. 몇 주만에 날씨변덕 없는 주말을 맞고 보니, 밖으로 나가는 행렬이 줄을 잇는다. 집에서 내다보는 서울 시내 여러 길들을 보고 있노라면 어느새 벚꽃놀이도 끝물인가 싶다. 일요일 오전을 무엇을 하면 보냈는지 11시가 훌쩍 넘어버린 시간에 외곽으로 나가는 것은 무모할 터, 서울 시내에 맛있는 닭고기 음식점을 찾는다.

PG의 농도가 AM의 경피투과에 미치는 영향은 용해도곡선과 유수분배곡선의 교점인 40% 농도에서 투과극대를 보였다. 지방산 및 지방산 알코올의 촉진효과는 리놀레인산＞올에인산＞올레일알코올＞ DHA=EPA=라우린산의 순이었고 PG에 리놀레인산 또는 올레인산을 첨가한 경우는 PG 단독에 비해 129.9 및 43.0배의 투과를 나타냈다. 또, 리놀레인산의 농도증가 (2,5,10%)에 따라 피부/매질 간의 분배계수가 가장 큰 5% 농도의 리놀레인산을 사용했을 때 투과효과가 최대로 나타났다. 한편, AM의 농도증가에 따른 투과효과에 있어서는 포화용해상태인 2% 약물농도에서 투과 flux가 가장 컸다. 라우릴황산타트륨의 첨가는 유의성 있는 효과를 발현하지 못했고 지방산과 병용시에도 지방산 단독 사용시에 비해 오히려 투과를 감소시켰다. 종차에 따른 AM의 피부투과에 있어서는 리놀레인산을 투과촉진제로 사용한 결과 흰주와 무모마우스의 투과 flux가 각각 23.78 및 213.29 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$\textrm{cm}^2$/hr로 무모마우스가 8.97배 높았다. 흰주의 추출액 및 호모지네이트 중에서의 AM의 대사에 있어서는 겉보기 1차 분해속도정수가 표피측추출액, 장막측추출액, 호모지네이트에서 각각 0.0105, 0.572 및 6.153$hr^{-1}$로 호모지네이트 중의 분해속도가 가장 빨라 AM은 피부투과 중에 가장 많이 분해됨을 알았다.

"The prohibition of careless or reckless flight" is the regulation specified not only in the national air law but ICAO ANNEX and FAR. This article(item) has not been categorized properly unlike other items and the question such as why this is described as a fundamental and essential act can be answered only by the party subjected to administrative measures in case of Korea and this kind of violation is so rare that it is not easy to understand the legal meaning and the function of the term, "The prohibition of careless or reckless flight" In case of U.S where aviation cases are common, the distinction between the term "careless" or "reckless" operation depends on whether to recognize the given situation. Some incidents happened by failing to aware NOTAM, violating ATC, or T/W landing where a pilot did not recognize the violation itself are considered to be "Careless" flight. Others such as low altitude high speed flight, approximate flight, Rejecting ATC instruction where a pilot intends to or is remiss in safety are regarded as "Reckless" flight. For pilots who are required to take the highest level of care from preparing for flight to stopping engines or completely disembarking passengers from a plane, the clear understanding of the most basic concept of "careless" or "reckless" flight should be emphasized for the safe flight and it is the time for the authorities to set a standard for proper measures by definite legal interpretations.

"자판기는 왜 네모나기만 하지?" "자판기는 왜 단순 물품판매 기능만 있는 거지? 다른 기능들이 있어도 좋을 텐데..." 단지 호기심어린 동심의 시각만이 아니더라도 이런 궁금증 한번 가져 봤을 법하다. Ultraviolet radiation is a major cause of photoaging, characterized by wrinkle formation and skin dehydration. Mojaban (Sargassum fulvellum), belonging to the brown algae of the Sargassaceae family, exerts anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-atopic activities. Particularly, Mojaban extract alleviated ultraviolet B (UVB)-induced inflammatory responses in human keratinocytes and BALB/c mice. Here, the dorsal skin of hairless mice was exposed to UVB for photoaging. The mice were administrated 300 mg/kg Mojaban extract (S. fulvellum extract; SFE) daily. Phenotypically, SFE reduced wrinkle formation and epidermal thickness and increased skin elasticity. SFE increased hydroxyproline content by upregulating the expression of collagen-related genes and downregulating matrix metalloproteinase expression. Furthermore, SFE increased skin moisture content and inhibited transepidermal water loss. SFE upregulated the expression of involucrin, loricrin, and transglutaminase for cornified envelope formation as well as the expression of filaggrin and caspase-14 for natural moisturizing factors. Collectively, SFE may be employed as a nutraceutical ingredient for anti-photoaging.

The effects of orally administered fermented porcine placenta (FPP) and its major dipeptides, L-Leucyl-Glycine (Leu-Gly) and Glycyl-L-Leucine (Gly-Leu), on UVB-induced wrinkle formation of the skin in hairless mice was studied. Treatment with FPP, Leu-Gly or Gly-Leu increased type I procollagen synthesis and decreased MMP-1 (matrix metalloproteinase-1) in human dermal fibroblast cells (HDF-N). Hairless mice were also exposed UVB irradiation three times a week and fermented porcine placenta extract (FPP), Leu-Gly and Gly-Leu was administered once a day for eight weeks. Daily intake of FPP, Leu-Gly and Gly-Leu for eight weeks decreased wrinkles, erythema and thickness of the skin and increased skin hydration and synthesis of collagen relative to a UVB-control. Moreover, FPP, Leu-Gly or Gly-Leu intake decreased the expression of MMP-3 and MMP-13 mRNA levels and inhibited activation of MMP-2 and MMP-9 induced by UVB irradiation in hairless mice skin. These results suggest that major dipeptides of the placenta, Leu-Gly and Gly-Leu have the potential for use as a functional food ingredient with anti-wrinkling properties.

This study examined the effects of collagen peptide intake extracted from the tilapia fish (TFCP) on UVB-induced skin in hairless mice. To cause photoaging, the hairless mice were exposed to UVB irradiation three times a week and TFCP was administered with 545 and 1090 mg/kg once a day for 12 weeks. The level of wrinkle formation, thickness of the skin, acute erythema, skin hydration, amount of hydroxyproline, expression of MMPs and filaggrin were measured. Wrinkle formation, thickness of the skin, and acute erythema were significantly lower and skin hydration was higher in the TFCP intake group compared to the UVB-control mice group. In addition, the amount of the collagen and hydroxyproline of the collagen peptide intake group were much higher than the UVB-control group. Oral administration of TFCP inhibited the expression of the MMP-3 and MMP-13 mRNA level as well as activated MMP-2 and MMP-9 induced by UV irradiation, and increased the protein expression of filaggrin in hairless mice skin. In summary, the oral administration of TFCP can inhibit wrinkle formation and protect the skin from UV-damage. Therefore, this study suggests that TFCP is a potential candidate material for skin functional foods.

지난 5월말 현재 돈육(부분육) 수출실적은 750만불로 목표액인 900만불의 83$\%$에 이르고 있으며, 수출의 호전으로 생돈가격이 폭등되어 kg당 650원이라는 예년에 볼 수 없었던 가격을 형성하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 호경기가 장기간 계속되리라고는 아무도 예측할 수 없으므로 수급 조절면에 세심한 주의를 기우려야 할 것이며 종자의 개량, 사양관리의 개선, 새로운 기술도입과 합리적인 경영 등을 실현하여 우리나라 양돈업의 근대화에 박차를 가해야 하겠다. 지난 수년간의 경험을 되살려 무모한 증식이나 불량돈육의 생산으로 국제시장에서의 외면 등의 불행한 사태가 생기지 않도록 서로가 협조하여 80년대를 향한 축산번영을 위하여 총력을 기울여야 겠다.
