In this study, Electromagnetic Induction Power Generation (EMG) is a structure consisting of a stator and a permanent magnet rotor, and is a method that enables power generation by using the kinetic energy of the human arm. Among them, the axial flux permanent magnet (AFPM) technique is a method that can act sensitively to the kinetic energy of the arm at a slow speed of the human body, and has a simple structure and can be designed and manufactured with an ultra-small size. Under the conditions of size of ø46×11mm, rotation speed of 7Hz (420rpm), output voltage 0.4VAC, output current 4.5mA, and output power 30mW were measured and analyzed the same as the target specification. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to study the power generation of the pendulum applying the AFPM (Axial Flux Permanent Magnet) technique to charge power to smart devices with kinetic energy of the human body.

The electronic medical device industry and the relevant market have been greatly expanded owing to various factors, such as the advent of the aged society and the spread of the desire for well-being in developed countries, and rapid development of China, India and other emerging markets. The electrical stimulator is one of electronic medical devices most commonly used in homes. The electrical stimulator is widely used for pain relief, rehabilitation, muscle conditioning and others. Since it is mainly used in homes, it is very important to assure the safety and performance for protection of users. However, there is no guideline on evaluation of safety and performance of such electrical stimulator for home use. In this study, various local and foreign references were reviewed to develop the internationally harmonized procedures for safety and performance evaluation of the electrical stimulator and test items, specifications and methods are proposed. In addition, such proposed test items were validated to decide the internationally harmonized tests for safety and performance evaluation. This study will contribute to improvement of quality and safety of electrical stimulators for home use and help the Korean medical device industry have the international competitiveness.
In these days, space design is evolving to the mixed reality space where fused on-line and off-line. But, standard and measure of mixed reality space has not been suggested and there has been little research about media environment and expression method as a mixed system either. That's why here I suggest four media environments and their characteristics that act not only as a critical point in the mixed reality space based on ubiquitous technology but also as a standard for spatial discerning. 1) Real space that is a media environment only seen by human visual and tactical sense is evolving using expression methods like new materials based on digital technology and LED. 2) Augmented reality space is a media environment using information instruments is expressed with diverse 2D and 3D contents. 3) Cyber Space is a environment depends totally on media instruments is produced by perfect graphic information without any spatial and physical limitations. 4) Augmented cyber space is realized only through the displays in cyber studio and is a space where real objects and graphic information are mixed. Depending on the purpose of the experience, media environment and expressional characteristics of mixed reality space can be fused, blended, and mixed, and that can be realized to the intelligent information space where one can experience without spatial, visual, informational limitations. In the future, studies on physical characteristics of contents according to the media environment characteristics are necessary.

Increasingly advanced Information Technology (IT) has changed the operator so as to create more diversified and advanced traffic information demand. To deal with the changing demand in private sector, a concept of on-demand traffic information has been rapidly introduced. However VMS, a product of the first generation of ITS, which was designed to provide the unspecified individuals during driving the car with the basic level of traffic information by the public failed to actively change itself in such a changing pattern. This study was intended to describe the VMS system (tentatively, FM-VMS) which was further developed to accommodate the needs favoring the sophisticated PDA with the public role of providing the unspecified individuals with the equal information. FM-VMS introduced in this study is the device designed to transmit the voice and message to the drivers through the radio information device mounted on a car. A core technology is, unlike FM-DARC and RDS, the Water Making technology which directly inserts the digital signal into FM frequency in use. It's been currently used for broadcasting and security purpose. A detection rate as a result of testing FM-VMS system using Water Making technology was 90% or more in voice and message within 20m from test VMS. When a public-developed VMS information could be transmitted using FM frequency to the relatively vulnerable users (vulnerable to traffic information) in voice on a real-time basis to provide the regional traffic information, and furthermore, VMS message could be received through radio liquid using FM frequency only, it would obviously bring about the innovation in ITS as well as pave the way for creating the new added value down the road.
Purpose : Because adenocarcinomas of the uterine cervix have lower 5-year survival rate than squamous cell carcinomas due to early lymph node metastasis and local extension, scrutiny of lymph node metastasis and local extension by radiologic examination is necessary in case of clinically diagnosed or suspected adenocarcinomas. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether there are specific findings of these tumors, compared with squamous cell carcinomas, through the analysis of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging findings. Materials and Methods : Of 21 pathologically proven cervical adenocarcinomas, MR imaging findings of 18 tumors (histologic staging : two Ib, four IIa, two IIb, one IIIa, and one IIIb) were retrospectively analyzed and compared with those of 40 wquamous cell carcinoma in consecutive patients as a control group. T1-wetighted and fast spin echo T2-weighted images were obtained on the axial and sagittal planes, using a 1.5-T MR scanner. The largest diameter, location, signal intensity and degree of contrast enhancement contour, shape and longitudinal extent of the tumor and associated findings on MR image were analyzed. Results : The largest diameters of cervical adenocarcinomas ranged from 0.8 to 4.1 cm(mean, 2.2 cm). Of 18 adenocarcinomas, nine were of endocervical type. All adenocarcinomas were isointense to surrounding cervical stroma on T1-weighted images and hyperintense(homogeneous in ten, inhomogeneous in eight) on fast spin echo T2-weighted images. Adenocarcinomas enhanced on contrast study in all patients (homogeneous in six, inhomogeneous in 12 with hyperintese enhnacing rim in two). Eight adenocarcinomas had smooth contours and ten had irregular ones. The shape of adenocarcinoma was irregular in eight patients, barrel shape in six, papillary/polypod in three, and nodular in one. All adenocarcinomas involved lower half of the uterine cervix and six tumors extended up to the upper half. Pelvic lymph nodes of more than 1.5cm in diameter in two adenocarcinomas pateints and no detectable small pelvic lymph nodes on MR imaging in one patient were pathologically positive. Hydrometra was associated in two adenocarcinomas patients, and hematometra in one patient. Compared with squamous cell carcinomas, more frequent MR findings of endocervical type and barrel shape in cervical adenocarcinomas were statistically significant. Conclusion : Cervical adenocarcinomas had more frequent MR findings of endocervical type and barrel shape, compared with wquamous cell carcinomas. Adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix may be suspected on MR imaging, when a cervical carcinoma is of barrel shape along the endocervical canal and tends to involve lymth nodes in earlier stages.

Human papillomaviruses (HPVs) are major causes of cervical cancer. Sixteen high risk HPVs, including HPV 16, HPV 18, HPV31, HPV 33, HPV 35, HPV 39, HPV 45, HPV 51, HPV 52, HPV 53, HPV 56, HPV 58, HPV 59, HPV 66, HPV 68, and HPV 69 are found in cervical cancer. HPVs 16 and 18 are mainly presented in 70% of cervical cancer. Therefore, identifying the presence of these high-risk HPVs is crucial. The objective of this study is to establish the HPV ViroCheck for detecting 16 HR-HPVs and genotypes of HPVs 16 and 18, as well as to analyze the analytical performance of HPV ViroCheck. We performed the analytical sensitivity of HPV E6 / E7 genes of 16 high risk HPVs to confirm the limit of detection. Then, a cross reactivity of HPV ViroCheck with microorganisms and viruses related to the cervix were analyzed for analytical specificity. Analytical sensitivity of high risk HPV genotypes ranged from 1 to 100 copies when using cloned DNAs. The limit of detection was 10 cells for both SiHa and HeLa cells. Cervical-related microorganisms and viruses did not show cross-reactivity to HPV DNA. Moreover, the intra- and inter-assay coefficient variations (CVs) were below 5%. In conclusion, HPV Virocheck will be useful for the detection of 16 HR HPVs, as well as HPV 16 and HPV 18 genotypes rapidly.

Bicycle has a large amount of kinetic energy available for energy harvesting technology in its speedy and balanced riding movement. Systematic and realistic analysis of its dynamic property is essential to improve the efficiency of energy harvester. However, there has not been enough researches about precise measurement or analysis of bicycle dynamics on real roads. This study aims to investigate the characteristics of vibrational movement of bicycle using MEMS-based accelerometer and to develop a prototype of electromagnetic energy harvester with nonlinear behavior which is proper to the random vibrations accompanied in bicycle riding. The vibrational components have average magnitude of 1 g and turn out to be independent of riding speed. The developed prototype of energy harvester was installed on a front port of a bicycle to use this ambient vibration and generated an average electrical power of 1.5 mW which is enough to support power for most of portable sensors and short range radio-frequency communication. Further study about isolation of vibration from a rider and conversion efficiency is ongoing. The developed energy harvester is expected to be a platform technology for sustainable portable power supply for various smart IT devices and applications.
