Development of Two-Lane Car-Following Model to Generate More Realistic Headway Behavior (보다 현실적인 차두시간 행태 구현을 위한 2차로 차량추종모형 개발)

  • The key characteristics of two-lane-and-two-way traffic flow are platoon and overtaking caused by low-speed vehicle such as truck. In order to develop two-way traffic flow model comprised of CF(car-following) and overtaking model, it is essential to develop a car-following model which is suitable to two-way traffic flow. Short distance between vehicles is caused when a high-speed vehicle tailgates and overtakes foregoing low-speed vehicle on two-way road system. And a vehicle following low-speed vehicle decides to overtake the front low-speed vehicle using suitable space within the headway distribution of opposite traffic flow. For this reason, a two-way CF model should describes not only running within short gap but also headway distribution. Additionally considering domestic two-way-road size, there is a on-going need for large-network simulation, but there are few studies for two-way CF model. In this paper, a two-way CA model is developed, which explains two-way CF behavior more realistic and can be applied for large road network. The experimental results show that the developed model mimics stop-and-go phenomenon, one of features of congested traffic flow, and efficiently generates the distribution of headway. When the CF model is integrated with overtaking model, it is, therefore, expected that two-way traffic flow can be explained more realistically than before.

2-D SU/PG Finite Element Model Using Quadratic Elements (2차 요소를 이용한 2차원 상향가중 유한요소모형)

  • The objective of this study is to develop an efficient and accurate quadratic finite element model based on Streamline Upwind/Petrov Galerkin (SU/PG) scheme for analyzing and predicting two dimensional flow features in complex natural rivers. For a development of model, quadratic tin, quadrilateral and mixed elements as well as linear tin, quadrilateral and mixed elements were used in the model. Also, this model was developed through reinforcement of Gauss Quadrature which was necessary to integral of governing equation. Several tests for bottom-rising channel and U-type channel were performed for the purpose of validation and verification of the developed model. Such results showed that solutions of second order elements are better accurate and improved than those of linear elements. Results obtained by the developed model and RMA-2 model are compared, and the results for the developed model were better accurate than those of RMA-2 model. In the future if the developed model is applied in natural rivers, it can provide better accurate results than those of existing model.

Comparison between homogeneity test statistics for panel AR(1) model (패널 1차 자기회귀과정들의 동질성 검정 통계량 비교)

  • We can achieve the principle of parsimony and efficiency if homogeneity for panel time series model is satisfied. We suggest a Rao test statistic and a Wald test statistic for the test of homogeneity for panel AR(1) and derived the limit distribution. We performed a simulation to examine statistics with the same chisquare distribution when number of the individual is small and in common with large. We also simulated to compare the empirical power of the statistics in a small panel. In application, we fit panel AR(1) model using regional monthly economical active population data and test homogeneity for panel AR(1). It is satisfied homogeneity, so it could be fitted AR(1) using the sample mean at the time point. We also compare the power of prediction between each individual and pooled model.

  • 본 연구에서는 일반균형이론을 이용하여 버스전용차로의 효과분석모형을 정립하였 고, 이 모형을 이용하여 경부고속도로의 버스 전용차로에 대한 효과분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 버스전용차로 효과분석모형에 있어 수요모형으로는 로짓 모형을 사용하였 고, 서비스모형, 즉 공급모형으로는 지체함 수식을 사용하였다. 이를 통하여 버스전용차로 설치에 따른 교통수단간 전환수요를 내생화 하였다. 경부고속도로를 대상으로 한 사례분석 의 결과, 버스전용차로의 효과를 극대화하는 혼잡수준이 존재한다는 것과, 버스전용차를 설 치할 경우 교통수단간의 수요전이효과에 따라 버스뿐만 아니라 일반 차로를 이용하는 승용 차의 통행여건도 개선된다는 사실을 발견하였다.

Environmental and Economic Impact of EV and FCEV Penetration into the Automobile Industry: A CGE Approach (전기 및 수소차 보급 확산의 환경적·경제적 영향분석: 계산가능일반균형모형(CGE)의 적용)

  • This paper analyzed the impact of the penetration of EV(electric vehicle) and FCEV(fuel cell electric vehicle) into the automobile industry, using a static CGE approach. There are contrasting view on the economic impact of EV/FCEV penetration: negative economic impact due to shrunken intermediate inputs versus positive impact because of input saving technical progress. Regarding environment, there is no clear consensus whether EV or FCEV will contribute to the reduction of $CO_2$ emissions in Korea. This study attempts to provide an answer to these questions. By giving shocks to the input coefficients of automobile industries and automobile using sectors, as well as to the final demands for energies. we integrated the Bass diffusion model into the CGE framework, The result suggests that the EV penetration has adverse impact on the $CO_2$ emission while the FCEV penetration has positive impact. On the other hand, both EV and FCEV have positive impacts on GDP. When considering automobile manufacturing sectors only, adverse impacts on $CO_2$ are demonstrated both for EV and FCEV. However, since the size of $CO_2$ increase is small, these results does not alter the overall effects.

  • Two-lane and two-way traffic flow shows various dynamic relationships according to the behaviors of low-speed vehicle and overtaking. And it is essential to develop a vehicle model which simultaneously explains the behaviors of low-speed vehicle and overtaking using opposite lane in order to microscopically analyze various two-lane and two-way traffic flows by traffic flow simulation. In Korea, some studies for car-following and lane-changing models for freeway or signalized road have been reported, but few researches for the development of vehicle model for two-lane and two-way highway have been done. Hence, a microscopic two-lane and two-way vehicle model was, in this study, developed with the consideration of overtaking process and is based on CA (Cellular Automata) which is one of discrete time-space models. The developed model is parallel combined with an adjusted CA car-following model and an overtaking model. The results of experimental simulation showed that the car-following model explained the various macroscopic relationships of traffic flow and overtaking model reasonably generated the various behaviors of macroscopic traffic flows under the conditions of both opposite traffic flow and stochastic parameter to consider overtaking. The vehicle model presented in this study is expected to be used for the simulation of more various two-lane, two-way traffic flows.

Development of Mode Choice Model for the Implementation of Next-generation High Speed Train(HEMU-430X) (차세대 고속열차 도입에 따른 수단분담모형 개발 및 적용방안)

  • The next generation high-speed train, HEMU-430X, was developed and is now being tested. However, the existing mode choice models based on the guidelines for feasibility studies do not consider a high-speed train with a higher speed than KTX. This limitation might result in inaccurate demand forecasting. In this research, a stated preference survey was conducted in order to supplement the problem by considering the characteristics of HEMU-430X. Based on the survey results, this research developed two mode choice models, including a multinomial logit model and a nested logit model. For this purpose, the utility functions of travel time and travel costs were estimated using a Limdep 8.0 NLOGIT 3.0 package. After comparing the two models, it was concluded that the nested logit model is appropriate. The paper suggested a plan to implement the nested logit model and presented a policy implication.

  • 전산기술의 발달에 힘입어 근래에 모의실험을 이용한 연속교통류의 미시적 분석이 활발히 수행되고 있고 다양한 모의실험 전산모형이 소개되고 있다. 미시적 연속교통류 전산모의실험은 차량추종모형과 차로변경모형을 적용하여 다양한 운전자들의 차량운행행태를 모사하여 분석하는 실험이다. 전산모형은 난수를 토대로 차량의 자유속도와 초기 발생 차로를 배정하기 때문에 낮은 자유속도를 할당받은 차량이 높은 속도의 차로(예:1차로)로 발생되는 경우가 발생한다. 많은 모의실험모형이 사용하고 있는 차로변경의 가정이 "운전자는 자신이 원하는 속도(자유속도)를 유지한다"는 것이며 그러한 가정만의 적용으로 인해 현실적이지 않은 차로 이용률이 결과되고, 따라서 전산모형을 통한 교통류 흐름분석에 문제를 제공하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 미국 도로국에서 20여년 동안 개발되고 수정되어왔으며 현재 실용적으로 가장 많이 사용되고 있는 Freeway Simulation(FRESIM) 전산모형이 내재한 차로변경모형을 토대로 고속도로 기본구간에서의 선택적 차로변경모형을 제시한다. 제시된 모형에서는 (1)저속의 선행차량이 고속의 후행차량에게 차로를 양보하는 가정이 새롭게 추가되고 (2)FRESIM모형에서 사용하는 상수값을 국내 현장조사를 통하여 도출된 분포식을 통한 값으로 대체하였다. 수집된 자료분석결과 연속 교통류에서의 15% 차두시간은 1.34초이며 차로변경시간은 평균 2.22초인 F분포를 따르고, 자유속도는 정규분포를 따르는 것으로 결과되었다. 모의실험결과 무작위난수를 토대로 배정된 차로로 생성된 차량들이 새롭게 제시된 차로변경모형의 적용으로 현장 차로이용률을 95% 신뢰수준에서 모사하는 것으로 분석되었다.

Test of Homogeneity for Intermittent Panel AR(1) Processes and Application (간헐적인 패널 1차 자기회귀과정들의 동질성 검정과 적용)

  • The concepts and structure of intermittent panel time series data are introduced. We suggest a Wald test statistic for the test of homogeneity for intermittent panel first order autoregressive model and its limit distribution is derived. We consider the fitting the model with pooling data using sample mean at the time point if homogeneity for intermittent panel AR(1) is satisfied. We performed simulations to examine the limit distribution of the homogeneity test statistic for intermittent panel AR(1). In application, we fit the intermittent panel AR(1) for panel Mumps data and investigate the test of homogeneity.

Development of Adjustment Factors for The Shared Left-turn Lane with U-Turn at the Signalized Intersection (신호교차로에서 좌회전.유턴 공용차로 보정계수 산정)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 우리 나라의 주요 간선도로상에서 운영되고 있는 좌회전 ·유턴 공용차로에 대한 적절한 보정계수를 산정하는 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 좌회전 2차로(1차로 유턴공용) 3개 지점 및 좌회전 ·유턴 공용 1타로 3개 지점에 대해서 연구를 수행하였으며, 유턴 전용차로 2개 지점에 대해서도 연구를 수행하였다. 좌회전 유턴 공용차로에서의 유턴 비율에 따른 포화교통류율의 변화를 분석하였으며, 회귀모형을 도출하였다. 본 연구의 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중앙분리대로 분리된 유턴 전용차로를 대상으로 분석한 유턴 포화교통류율은 2,105(pcphgpl)로 산정되었다. 둘째, 좌회전 2차로(1차로 유턴공용)에 대하여 3개지점을 대상으로 유턴 비율에 따른 포화교통류율의 살펴보고 적절한 보정계수를 산정하였으며 각 차로별 좌회전 포화교통류율은 1차로는 2,105(Pcphgpl), 2차로는 2,023(Pcphgpl)이 산정되었다. 또한 유턴 비율과 포화교통류율에 따른 회귀모형을 산정하였다. 셋째, 좌회전 ·유턴 용 1차로에 대하여 3개지점을 대상으로 유턴 비율에 따른 포화교통류율의 변화를 살펴보고, 적절한 보정계수를 산정하였으며, 좌회전 포화교통류율은 2,143(Pcphgpl)으로 산정되었다. 또한 유턴 비율과 포화교통류율에 따른 회귀모형을 산정하였다. 넷째, 회귀모형의 산정결과 좌회전 ·유턴 공용차로에서는 유턴 비율에 따라서 포화교통류율이 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 기대효과로는 유턴 비율에 따른 좌회전 유턴 공용차로의 포화교통류율 감소에 대하여 용량분석시 적용할 수 있는 보정계수를 제시함으로서 보다 정확한 신호교차로의 운영분석을 할 수 있다고 판단된다. 또한 신호시간 설계시에도 유턴 수요에 따른 적절한 설계에 도움을 줄 수 있으며 따라서 신호교차로의 운영효율을 증대시키는데 기여할 것으로 판단된다.
