  • The objective of this research is to investigate how consumers react differently to financial and social risk/return, referred to as an 'asymmetric effect'. A lab-based experiment using a counterfeit but real-branded product examined the robustness of the statement that priming the interdependent versus independent self can result in differences in financial and social risk taking behavior in the context of counterfeit product purchase choice. Three hundred fifty-eight participants took part in the experiment. They were primed with different self-construal and evaluated purchase intention to the counterfeit product. As predicted, when evaluate in the context of loss claim of counterfeit product, risks were more activated, however, there was an asymmetric effect that self-construal priming had on financial and social risks. Interdependence primed participants were more likely to take a financial risk thus perform more purchase intention of counterfeit product and less likely to take a social risk than their independence primed counterparts, which led to lower purchase intention. The results of this research shed light on the various directions of future studies on the responses toward counterfeit product.

  • The purpose of this study is not to look at the history of traditional accessories or the characteristics of their shapes but to discern imitations £Tom authentic items by exploring imitations of traditional accessories-- many of which were made in the late 20th century -- from private museums and university museums in order to help scholars assess relics. Among many kinds of accessories in the Joseon dynasty, only norigae, one of the representative accessories, and women hair ornaments are selected for this study since many of the relics have been recovered to date. Given this, this study will consider firstly the general history of norigae and women's hair ornaments, and secondly, prove several examples as relics from the late 20th century while they are marked as relics from the Joseon dynasty by comparing authentic items. Thirdly, among the imitations of the late 20th century, this study will find those so-called "original" imitations whose production origins are unidentified Fourthly, this study will explore the imitations, which were influenced by the influx of items and materials from China. It is important to discern low-quality relics as well as to correct the production time. Some producers exercised their creativity and made relics non-native to Korea. These relics shouldn't be presented at international exhibitions. Restored relics should be noted so and their quality should be equal to the authentic items. It is suggested that relics without the identity and quality of native Korean relics not baffle cultural interchanges and enhance national glory.

  • When it comes to museumification, it has often been approached in terms of false history, placelessness or simulacra. However, this research aims at exploring the relation between the bodily-spatial performance of walking in the city and the museumification of urban space. For this, first it reviews theoretical discussions of walking as a bodily-spatial performance. Then, in the case of Daegu's Modern Street Tour and particularly focusing on the tour map, it looks at how the bodily performance of walking constructs the urban space of the tour as a museumified space. Finally, seeing the participants' blogs and other websites as another performative space, it examines how the bodily performance of walking reproduces the discourse and space of the tour in virtual space as well as in actual space. The study suggests the elusive assemblage of heterogeneous and multiple time-spaces immanent in urban space, which is different from the absolute and linear order of time-space in museum space.

  • A self-administered questionnaire survey and face-to-face interviews were conducted on 150 local residents belonging to seven villages, 160 visitors and 86 experts in order to analyze the attitudes of groups of local residents, visitors as well as experts toward the development plan of Sobaeksan Jarak-gil. Reliability analysis and one-way ANOVA were performed on the data collected by a questionnaire survey using IBM SPSS Statistics 20.0 after coding. The Duncan Test was conducted as a post-hoc test. Based on the analytical results, in economic terms, the expert group expected an increase in income, improvement in living standards and increase in expenditure for the maintenance of local infrastructure. In environmental terms, the visitor group was highly concerned about the disruption of the local natural environment and ecosystem, destruction of local properties and landscape, increase in water/soil/air pollution and increase in solid waste and noise. In social and cultural terms, the expert group had higher expectation for excavation of traditional cultural properties, instillation of local patriotism and pride, and the visitor group was highly concerned about a rise in crime, destruction of indigenous culture/increase in imitations, and induction of conflicts between residents. It is estimated that these results will be used as basic data for establishing the development plan of the mountainous ecological trail reflecting opinions of various groups.

  • Buddhist image engraved on the bronze mirror in the Goryo period were conserved in 1986 and 1996, respectively. As the time passed, re-conservation was required that powdered copper corrosion product on the mirror image occurred. Accordingly, additional conservation including stabilization and consolidation were carried out to prevent further corrosion. The powder filled in the line of the buddhist image and the chasing techniques were examined using microscope and portable X-ray fluorescence analyzer. The result showed that composition of powder were gold, silver and calcium(calcite or gypsum). The main chasing techniques used to engrave pattern seemed to be dotted-line, hairline and the kicking-line engraving.

  • Imitated cheese was prepared from whole milk powder and fermented milk and the moisture content, general components, noncasein nitrogen, nonprotein nitrogen and free amino acids were analyzed to determine the optimal ripening conditions needed to produce imitated cheese that was similar to natural cheese. The moisture content of the imitated cheese was 40.27% one day after being produced. The cheese was ripened using two different methods; at $12^{\circ}C$ with vacuum sealing and at $12^{\circ}C$ and 95% RH with a spray of Penicillium camemberti. The lactose content decreased rapidly from 24.64 to 5.43% at the $4^{th}$ wk of ripening when it was ripened with Penicillium camemberti. The degradation of protein by mold ripening in the imitated cheese was more rapid than that of vacuum sealing. The flavor and body texture were optimal at the $4^{th}$ wk ripening. The noncasein nitrogen and nonprotein nitrogen content increased from 28.10 to 54.05, and from 6.58 to 23.06 mg/mL, respectively, when ripened with P. camemberti. When the cheese was ripened at $12^{\circ}C$, 95% R.H with P. camemberti after 4 wks, all free amino acids increased significantly except asparagines. The total free amino acid and bitter amino acid concentrations increased from 8.40 to 34.87, and from 1.53 to 10.02 nmol/mg, respectively. When the imitated cheese was prepared, the protein degradation and flavor of the cheese was better when ripened with P. camemberti.
