This paper introduces the mechanical design, fabrication, and control of a biomimetic fish robot whose driving motions resemble a real fish's flexibility and movement. This robot uses two motors create flexible movement like that of a fish. Several schemes, such as neutral buoyancy, fast underwater swimming, and direction changes, are introduced. The tail of the fish robot is made of a polymer material for flexible movement. The interior of the tail contains a joint and a wire. A sine wave command was applied to the tail to produce motion resembling a real fish swimming, and a buoy control device was installed. The up and down motion of the robot fish was controlled using this device.

In this study, the flexural performance of Highly Ductile Cement Composites(HDCC) mimicking boundary conditions of shellfish skin layer was evaluated. To improve ductility by mimicking the boundary skin layer structure of shellfish, the method of stratification by charging between precast panels using HDCC and the method of distributing PE-mesh to the interface surface were applied. Evaluation of flexural performance of layered cement composite materials mimicking boundary conditions of shellfish skin layer resulted in increased ductility of all test specimens applied with stratified cross-section compared to typical bending test specimens. The layered method by inserting PE-mesh showed excellent ductility. This is most likely because the inserted PE-mesh made an interface for separating the layers while the HDCC pillars in the PE-mesh gave adhesion between layers.

This study investigates the effect of mimicry buying on differentiation behavior in the context of fashion product consumption. Merging insights from social identity theory, optimal distinctiveness theory and previous research on narcissism, this article presents ingroup-outgroup categorization, narcissistic tendency and social status to serve as boundary conditions of this effect. Experiment 1 supports the hypothesis that more differentiation behavior against mimicry buying is reinforced when the mimicker is an in-group member compared to an out-group member. Based on this result, we conducted Experiment 2 to understand the effect of narcissistic tendency and mimicker's social status on differentiation behavior in the in-group context. The results show that the effect of narcissistic tendency on differentiation behavior is mediated by a perceived distinctiveness threat when the mimicker is an in-group member. In addition, this mediating effect is moderated by the mimicker's social status. Narcissistic tendencies have a direct negative effect on differentiation behavior when the mimicker is an in-group member with a high social status. However, high narcissistic tendency induces a more distinctiveness threat when the mimicker is an in-group member with a low social status. This then results in a greater differentiation behavior. Implications for marketers and suggestions for future research are also discussed.

In the field of computer graphics and HCI, there are many studies on systems that create characters and interact naturally. Such studies have focused on the user's response to the user's behavior, and the study of the character's behavior to elicit positive emotions from the user remains a difficult problem. In this paper, we develop a prototype of an interaction system to elicit positive emotions from users according to the movement of virtual characters using artificial intelligence technology. The proposed system is divided into face recognition and motion generation of a virtual character. A depth camera is used for face recognition, and the recognized data is transferred to motion generation. We use imitation learning as a learning model. In motion generation, random actions are performed according to the first user's facial expression data, and actions that the user can elicit positive emotions are learned through continuous imitation learning.
Demand for small biomimetic robots that can carry out reconnaissance missions without being exposed to the enemy in underground spaces and narrow passages is increasing in order to increase the fighting power and survivability of soldiers in wartime situations. A small compound eye image sensor for environmental recognition has advantages such as small size, low aberration, wide angle of view, depth estimation, and HDR that can be used in various ways in the field of vision. However, due to the small lens size, the resolution is low, and the problem of resolution in the fused image obtained from the actual compound eye image occurs. This paper proposes a compound eye image quality enhancement algorithm based on Image Enhancement and ESRGAN to overcome the problem of low resolution. If the proposed algorithm is applied to compound eye image fusion images, image resolution and image quality can be improved, so it is expected that performance improvement results can be obtained in various studies using compound eye cameras.

Mucormycosis encompasses a range of fungal infections that can impact various organs. Although pulmonary mucormycosis is relatively rare, it poses a significant threat, particularly to individuals with compromised immune systems. Pulmonary mucormycosis presents with various radiological manifestations. Notably, the involvement of the angioinvasive pulmonary artery in pulmonary mucormycosis cases has seldom been documented. In this report, we showcase the radiological characteristics of angioinvasive mucormycosis, which can mimic pulmonary thromboembolism or a pulmonary artery tumor, in a patient diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome.
This essay begins by discussing the issue of the definition of a catastrophe as a trauma by visual media and the problems that result. We assume a concrete approach towards these problems by examining the process through which 9/11 was defined as a "national trauma" in the exclusion of images of bodies falling from towers, which were some of the most shocking images in the media coverage of 9/11. The choice to exclude images of falling men from American visual media representations of 9/11 goes hand in hand with the tendencies of a contemporary trauma theory. This essay assumes that the representations in the U.S visual media depend on "antimimetic theory," one of the leading contemporary trauma theories, in order to validate its logic, and examines the limitations and problems of the theory. This work aims to examine the issue of the definition of a catastrophe as trauma by visual media on the basis on the "antimimetic theory" and the danger that results. Because the antimimetic theory, which the visual media in the United States uses to define 9/11 as trauma, emphasizes literal and unmediated representation of an external event, it lacks an understanding of the human aspects of the event. There is no way to intervene in the construction and interpretation of the trauma. As a result, the theory discourages active attempts to find a solution to the problems of the people directly connected with the event. Thus, it provides an opening for manipulative intervention of an external power. This essay attempts to provide a critical analysis of the "antimimetic theory" in order to help people who witness catastrophic events through various types of visual media, and to seek an alternative means of experiencing and responding to the trauma, that does not stem from the perspective of specific media outlets or external powers.

This study aims to investigate the effects of venture & inno-biz companies' technological innovation competences on technological performances and economic competitive advantage, using VRIO framework. The empirical data for this study were based on the technology assessment results of Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTEC) on 3,462 venture & inno-biz companies and the following 2 years' financial data. Sample companies with technological innovation resources, such as technology management strategy(Value), differentiation of technology(Rarity), imitation difficulty of technology(Imitability) and technical organization capability(Organization), made efforts to expand their intellectual property rights, technological development and commercialization of new products, thereby ensuring technological competitive advantage. Furthermore, technological competitive advantage were proved to improve sales growth, increase in operating revenue, and financial soundness. Compared with four VRIO factors' influence on business performance, imitation difficulty of technology(Imitability) and organization technological capability(Organization) had much more influence than any other internal resources or capabilities respectively.
The overseas expansion of global logistics company (GLC) is increasing rapidly under the influence of international specialization of manufacturing, and the necessity of global logistics service is increasing, and then the logistics market is growing year to year. The purposes of this study are to investigate the growing factors and strategies making global logistics company and to suggest the best strategies for overseas expansion of domestic logistics company (DLC) by using imitation strategy. The major results are as follows ; Firstly, DLC has to imitate liner shipping company or terminal operator which has competitiveness rather than other part of logistics. Secondly, DLC has to build up competition through investigation the global logistics companies which have globalization, specialization, monopolization and public elements. Thirdly, DLC has to use 'coming from behind strategy' for the exiting market, the 'pioneer importer strategy' for the new emerging market or niche. Lastly, DLC has to make a road map or process for expanding the logistics service area without collision exiting business models.

Harmony Search (HS) is a recently developed metaheuristic algorithm that is widely known to many researchers. However, due to the increasing complexity of optimization problems, the optimal solution cannot be efficiently found by HS. To overcome this problem, there have been many studies that have improved the performance of HS by modifying the parameter settings and incorporating other metaheuristic algorithms. In this study, Copycat HS (CcHS) is suggested, which improves the parameter setting method and the performance of searching for the optimal solution. To verify the performance of CcHS, the results were compared to those of HS variants with a set of well-known mathematical benchmark problems. The effectiveness of CcHS was proven by finding final solutions that are closer to the global optimum than other algorithms in all problems. To analyze the applicability of CcHS to engineering optimization problems, it was applied to a design problem for Water Distribution Systems (WDS), which is widely applied in previous research. As a result, CcHS proposed the minimum design cost, which was 21.91% cheaper than the cost suggested by simple HS.
