Design and Implementation of User Authentication Protocol for Wireless Devices based on Java Card (자바카드 기반 무선단말기용 사용자 인증 프로토콜의 설계 및 구현)

  • Java card is one of promising smart card platform with java technology. Java card defines necessary packages and classes for Embedded device that have small memory such as smart card Jana card is compatible with EMV that is Industry specification standard and ISO-7816 that is international standard. However, Java card is not offers user authentication protocol. In this paper, We design and implement an user authentication protocol applicable wireless devices based on Java Card using standard 3GPP Specification (SMS), Java Card Specification (APDU), Cryptography and so on. Our Java Card user authentication techniques can possibly be applied to the area of M-Commerce, Wireless Security, E-Payment System, Mobile Internet, Global Position Service, Ubiquitous Computing and so on.

  • With the advance of ICT, the necessity of user authentication to verify the identity of an opponent online not face to face is increasing. The authentication, the basis of the security, is used in various fields. Because ID-based authentication has weaknesses in terms of stability and losses, two or more than two authentication tools are used in the place in which the security is important. Recently, biometric authentication rather than ID, OTP, SMS authentication has been an issue in terms of credibility and efficiency. As the fields applied to current biometric recognition technologies are increasing, the application of the biometric recognition is being used in various fields such as mobile payment system, intelligent CCTV, immigration inspection, and access control. As the biometric recognition, finger print, iris, retina, vein, and face recognition have been studied actively. This study is to inspect the current state of domestic and foreign standardization including understanding of the face recognition and the trend of technology.

Perceived Social Presence in the Text-Based Media: Mobile Communication Case (문자기반 매체에서 느끼는 사회적 현존감: 모바일 커뮤니케이션의 사례)

  • Since the advent of smart phone, a variety of text-based media are developed and used as popular communication tools even in mobile phone environment. This study explores differences in terms of users' perceived social presence level across different text-based media, specifically KakaoTalk, Facebook, SMS. A survey was conducted using items adopted from previous studies on social presence. 203 data points were collected and used for analysis. Across the whole sample, KakaoTalk is perceived as the highest in terms of perceived social presence level, followed by Facebook and SMS. Also, the users with higher level of sociality tends to reveal higher level of perceived social presence across all the media while younger and/or student users tend to maintain higher level of social presence perception across all the media. Further studies seem necessary investigating features of specific medium that may increase or decrease the perceived level of social presence.

  • In this paper, an error tracking platform is designed for enhanced-reliable IOT system. The platform is designed to enhance reliability of IOT system by analysing additional informations(OS, Browser, Device) and by notifying error detection to developers. Especially, in the case of an error in the service which it is difficult for developers to recognize it, The platform also supports notification services through various communication media(Email, Slack, SMS). The common interface is designed to accommodate many languages(typescript, Swift, and Android) in the development process, and the interface allows users to analyze errors that occur on various platforms, including mobile/web/desktop applications. By presenting each error in groups through issues, developers can easily identify issues in the service. The visualizing function is included to recognize various error type by dashboard.

  • Whenever and wherever, recognizing location of object such as human as well as things, ubiquitous Location-Based Service which provides useful service based on this are rising as an important service. In this paper, we implemented customized real time 1:1 e-CRM system that can communicate with user's mobile phone through using Location-Based Service of mobile phone. Among various scenarios that are applicable to designed system, development and test were conducted based on scenario that provides shopping information and discount information to customers through SMS as they approach to vicinity of large discount store and allow them to download discount coupons through Call Back. The suggested system will be applied to various service event and can be used as a customized real time marketing method according to user's personal activity area.

  • By the growing of SMS phishing victims, applications for processing spam messages are being released in succession. However most spam messages that cleverly modified the content like separating the consonants and vowels are fail to be filtered. In this paper, we implemented an application 'AntiSpam' which is able to identify spam strings in the text message to solve this problem. 'AntiSpam' searches spam strings in the text message by using set-based POI search algorithm, and then calculate the possibility of whether it is spam or not in accordance with the search results. In addition, it catches skillfully disguised spam messages in order to avoid missing the spam filtering. Users, who received a message, can check the result in spam message possibility decision result and the contents of the message and they can choose how to handling the message.

  • As the use of school buses becomes more common, related laws are being enacted, such as making it mandatory for children to check school bus dropouts due to frequent accidents caused by the negligence of school bus drivers and their guardians. In this paper, we propose a safe school bus system that links efficient radio-frequency identification (RFID) and mobile APP in terms of energy utilization and cost. The school bus system uses RFID cards to check information on children boarding the school bus, and real-time SMS transmission allows parents to safely send their children to and from school. Instructors on the school bus can check their children's disembarkation information once more through APP, preventing various accidents that may occur to children left on the bus. Due to the automation of the school bus operation log, daycare center teachers can not only check the information on getting on and off, but also manage the information on the attendance and discharge of the students.

  • Design and Implementation of Clipcast Service via Terrestrial DMB This paper outlines the system design and the implementation process of clipcast service that can send clips of video, mp3, text, images, etc. to terrestrial DMB terminals. To provide clipcast service in terrestrial DMB, a separate data channel needs to be allocated and this requires changes in the existing bandwidth allocation. Clipcast contents can be sent after midnight at around 3 to 4 AM, when terrestrial DMB viewship is low. If the video service bit rate is lowered to 352 Kbps and the TPEG service band is fully used, then 320 Kbps bit rate can be allocated to clipcast. To enable clipcast service, the terminals' DMB program must be executed, and this can be done through SMS and EPG. Clipcast service applies MOT protocol to transmit multimedia objects, and transmits twice in carousel format for stable transmission of files. Therefore, 72Mbyte data can be transmitted in one hour, which corresponds to about 20 minutes of full motion video service at 500Kbps data rate. When running the clip transmitted through terrestrial DMB data channel, information regarding the length of each clip is received through communication with the CMS(Content Management Server), then error-free files are displayed. The clips can be provided to the users as preview contents of the complete VOD contents. In order to use the complete content, the user needs to access the URL allocated for that specific content and download the content by completing a billing process. This paper suggests the design and implementation of terrestrial DMB system to provide clipcast service, which enables file download services as provided in MediaFLO, DVB-H, and the other mobile broadcasting systems. Unlike the other mobile broadcasting systems, the proposed system applies more reliable SMS method to activate the DMB terminals for highly stable clipcast service. This allows hybrid, i.e, both SMS and EPG activations of terminals for clipcast services.

  • Ubiquitous computing technology provides anytime and anywhere accessibility to information, ubiquitous computing is adapted in the various field to increase efficiency of work. After looking into the trend of ubiquitous computing, case studies of information service using mobile service and RFID system in library were investigated in this paper. Library information service are providing retrieval of library OPAC and verifications of circulation and return date using mobile internet technology. In addition, various notice services using short me sage service(SMS) of mobile are available. Considering growing mobile service and RFID system advancement of related technology, more information service utilizing mobile service and RFID system should be developed in near future.

The Impact of Trust in Mobile Instant Messenger and Platform on Mobile Contents Purchase Intention: Focusing on Kakao Platform and KakaoTalk Emoticon (모바일 인스턴트 메신저 및 플랫폼 신뢰도가 모바일 콘텐츠 구매의도에 미치는 영향: 카카오플랫폼과 카카오톡 이모티콘을 중심으로)

  • Purpose Mobile phones increase the frequency and speed of communication. The most popular mobile application in Korea is KakaoTalk, one of the mobile instant messenger(MIM) services. Although studying mobile services such as SMS, SNS and SNG suggests drawing upon theories in marketing, consumer behavior, psychology to investigate their personal use, research on MIM is scarce. We designed this paper to fill this gap. More specifically, this study is focused on the relationships among consumers psychological variables related to purchase intention to emoticons in context of MIM. Design/methodology/approach Data was obtained from 310 KakaoTalk users in Korea via questionnaire. The data was analyzed by structural equation modeling in order to verify the relationship between variables in the model. Specifically, this study is designed to examine the structural relationships among perceived benefits, perceived risks, trust in messenger service, system quality, trust in platform, and emoticons purchase intention. Findings The findings of this study are as follow. First, perceived benefits and perceived risks had a significant impact on trust in MIM service(e.g. KakaoTalk). Specifically, while perceived benefits had a positive effect on trust in MIM service, perceived risks had a negative effect on trust in MIM service. Second, trust in messenger service also had a positive impact on system quality. Third, trust in messenger service and system quality had a positive effect on trust in platform(e.g. Kakao platform) directly. Lastly, trust in platform had a positive influence on emoticons purchase intention in KakaoTalk messenger.
