A Study on the Utilization of Intellectual Property Rights Convergence in Mobile Games through Market Analysis (시장분석을 통한 모바일게임 융복합 지식재산권 활용 연구)

  • In this study, look into the future prospects of mobile games produced using IP, in the domestic market and to present more effective IP selection criteria when producing new mobile games using IP. To this end, classified IP-enabled mobile games and analyzed IPs used for IP-enabled mobile games by each type for games that are located in the top 200 in sales ranking of Google Play Store. According to the analysis, the mobile game using IP has shown significant performance in terms of sales performance, and the trend will continue in 2020. It was analyzed that 'Game' types of IP using games(based on domestic games) can achieve the highest sales results. Since the success of a game affects a variety of factors other than IP, further research is needed in more diverse ways on the impact of IP on the success.

  • 모바일 인터넷 액세스 서비스에서의 트래픽은 음성위주에서 동영상에 기반 한 멀티미디어 서비스로 급속히 전이되고 있으며 그 속도는 점차 가속되고 있다. 따라서 이러한 멀티미디어 트래픽을 보다 효율적이고 신속히 처리하기 위하여 IP에 기반 한 'Beyond IMT-2000(3G 및 그 이후 세대)' 네트워크의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 환경에서 대용량의 멀티미디어 트래픽을 보다 효율적이고 신속히 처리하고 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경을 지원하기 위한 'Beyond IMT-2000' 네트워크의 의미를 가진 다양한 Seamless 서비스를 제공해 주는 IP에 기반하고 있는 IP$^2$네트워크의 개념 및 아키텍처에 대하여 서술한다. 나아가 본 논문은 모바일 전달매체의 역할을 수행하는 IP$^2$ 트랜스포트 네트워크의 설계 시 요구되는 필요사항을 IP-BB의 관점에서 정의하였으며 이와 같은 요구사항을 충족시킬 수 있는 방안을 설명하였다.충족시킬 수 있는 방안을 설명하였다.

  • Mobile IP is a solution for mobility on the global Internet. However, it causes service delay incase of frequent movement of mobile node and mobile users. Mobile IP regional registration is Proposed to reduce the service delay. In this paper, we introduce an optimal regional location management mechanism for Mobile IP that reduces the registration delay. The movement of mobile node is described by a discrete analytical model. The proposed model explains analytically average packet rate and registration cost as the size of regional networks with mobility of mobile node.

  • mVoIP (mobile Voice over Internet Protocol) service is a technology to transmit voice data through an IP network using mobile device. mVoIP provides various supplementary services with low communication cost. It can maximize the availability and efficiency by using IP-based network resources. In addition, the users can use voice call service at any time and in any place, as long as they can access the Internet on mobile device easily. However, SIP on mobile device is exposed to IP-based attacks and threats. Observed cyber threats to SIP services include wiretapping, denial of service, and service misuse, VoIP spam which are also applicable to existing IP-based networks. These attacks are also applicable to SIP and continuously cause problems. In this study, we analysis the threat and vulnerability on mVoIP service and propose several possible attack scenarios on existing mobile VoIP devices. Based on a proposed analysis and vulnerability test mechanism, we can construct more enhanced SIP security mechanism and stable mobile VoIP service framework after eliminating its vulnerability on mobile telephony system.

A Low Latency Handoff Scheme with Lossless Remote Subscription for Real-time Multimedia Communications in Mobile IP Environments (모바일 IP환경에서의 실시간 멀티미디어 통신을 위한 무손실 원격지 가입 저 지연 핸드오프)

  • IP is not suitable for mobile nodes by network-based routing because mobile nodes are dynamically change their network attachment point. Mobile-IP is an IETF standard providing continuous access to the Internet for mobile nodes, but it has the triangle routing problem. Also it has a performance degradation problem by massive packet loss during layer 3 handoff of mobile nodes. Especially, two IETF multicast support schemes for Mobile-IP do not guarantee the quality of realtime multimedia services because they have several problems such as long routing path, packet duplication(hi-directional tunneling) and massive packet loss(remote subscription). In this paper, we propose a lossless remote subscription scheme that guarantees the quality of realtime multimedia services over Mobile-IP. From the result of simulation, we verified that the proposed scheme in this paper can reduce the delay time of remote subscription by the effect of the low latency handoff scheme that is extended to apply to the multicast group management and it requires only 0.58% buffer spaces of the previously proposed lossless remote subscription scheme.

A Mobile Multimedia System for IP-based Convergence Networks (IP 기반 통합망에서의 모바일 멀티미디어 시스템)

  • In this paper we propose an efficient mobile multimedia communication protocol, mobile terminal software platform and mobile VoIP application for IP-based convergence networks. The Proposed mobile multimedia communication protocol is called as ST-MRSVP (Split tunnel based Mobile Resource reServation Protocol) which integrates split tunnel based Mobile IP and RSVP in order to support hish speed mobility. Since mobile terminal platform supports QoS (Qualify of Service) with keeping seamless mobility, mobile QoS supporting modules are developed and interworked together by means of shared memory mechanism. Testbed is composed of a core-network embedding the proposed protocols and wireless LAN-based access networks. We verify functionality and performance of the proposed techniques by using various mobility test over the testbed. As a result, the proposed architecture can reduce the handover delay time with QoS support under 30% comparing with the standard mechanisms and support voice quality as good as CDMA phone.

  • A mobile device accesses large-sized data in object-based IP storage as an object unit over IP network. It relies heavily on a WLAN device, which has been known as one of the major power consumers. This paper designs and implements low-power object-based IP storage for mobile devices using an efficient WLAN power control. The proposed WLAN power control exploits prefetch buffer to maximize the idleness for incoming network traffic and controls available WLAN power modes to minimize the power consumption. Our experimental results reveal that the proposed WLAN control can save the total power consumption in a PXA270-based mobile device about 9% while playing the multimedia contents through an object-based IP storage device

  • Mobile IP storage has been proposed to overcome storage limitation in the flash memory and hard disks. It provides almost capacity-free space for mobile devices over wireless IP networks. However, battery lifetime of the mobile devices is reduced rapidly because of power consumption with continuous use of a WLAN device when multimedia contents are being streamed through the mobile IP storage. This paper proposes an energy-efficient WLAN device power control technique for streaming multimedia contents with the mobile IP storage. The proposed technique consists of a prefetch buffer input/output module, a WLAN device power control module, and a reconfigurable prefetch buffer module. Besides, it adaptively determines the size of the prefetch buffer according to a quality of the multimedia contents, and it dynamically controls the power mode of the WLAN device on the basis of power on-off operations while streaming the multimedia contents. We evaluate the performance of the proposed technique on a PXA270-based mobile device that employs the embedded linux 2.6.11, Intel iSCSI reference codes, and a WLAN device. Extensive experiments reveal that the proposed technique can save the energy consumption of the WLAN device up to 8.5 times with QVGA multimedia contents, as compared with no power control.

  • The adoption of VoIP is continuously increasing in public institutions, private enterprises and households due to cheaper cost and various supplementary services. Also, it is expected to spread widely the use of VoIP in mobile environment through the increasing use of smartphone. With the growing concern over the incidents of VoIP service while the VoIP service has become increasingly. Especially eavesdropping, it is possible to invade user privacy and drain the secret of company. So, it is important to adopt the protocols for VoIP secure communication. VoIP security protocols are already adopted in public institutions, but it is not adopted in private enterprises and households. In addition, it is necessary to verify whether the VoIP security protocol could be adopted or not in mobile VoIP due to its limited computing power. This paper compared the VoIP security protocol under fixed network and mobile network through performance evaluation. Finally, we found that it is possible to adopt the VoIP security protocols in mobile network.

  • Ad-Hoc VoIP system is an important IP phone technique used in MANET networks. In small-scale networks, VoIP system could be built easily while keeping the Qos on a acceptable level. Although Ad-Hoc VoIP system is designed as 'Client-Server' model, due to the property of MANETs that no Base Stations working as servers, we have the SIP Server with promary funtions worked on mobile terminals instead. In this paper, we explored how to build VoIP systems in MANETs and achieved the construction from within linux.
