Effect of Mobile Devices on the Use Intention and Use of Mobile Banking Service in Myanmar (미얀마에서의 모바일기기 특성이 모바일 뱅킹 서비스 사용의도와 실제 사용에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • Most banks in Myanmar have begun to provide their services via mobile phones. However, few studies investigated the factors that may help to set mobile services from a customer perspective. So, this study aims to propose and test a conceptual research model to predict the user's intention to use and actual use level of mobile banking service by combining UTAUT and DeLone-Mclean IS model. Data were collected from 206 citizens who had experienced mobile banking in various regions of Myanmar. The study found that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, information quality and service quality influence the user 's intention to adopt mobile banking services which directly affects the user's actual use of them. However, social influence, facilitating condition and system quality don't influence the user's intention. The study results contribute to meeting customer's needs and reducing customer risk in Myanmar's mobile banking industry, suggesting to seamlessly provide the necessary resources like technology improvements, organizational infrastructure and service centers. Another future study are required to include service's security and trust factors so that the service providers could gain their customers' reliability and trust.

  • This study analyzes the characteristics of customer's preferences on banking channels (branches, automated machines, telebanking, internet banking, and mobile banking) and examines the factors influencing channel usage. To accomplish this, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis are performed using customer data from Bank A. The analysis reveals that customers primarily utilizing branch counter transactions have a significant impact on the profitability of 1st and 2nd grade banks, particularly among the age group of 50 years and above. Additionally, it is observed that as customers' loan, deposit, and financial product holdings increase, branch counter transactions also increase. On the other hand, it is found that as the usage of mobile banking decreases in terms of loans and deposits, transaction volume increases.

  • Today the paradigm of the financial services industry is shifting to mobile banking, and each financial company provides a variety of mobile banking services. Because of the innovation of mobile banking service, the Internet Only Bank has been launched recently. However, the actual number of users is far less than the number of subscribers. The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors affecting the intention to use of Internet only banking service by applying Task-Technology Fit (TTF) theory. In order to carry out this research, we conducted a survey on the user of the Internet only banking services, tested the measurement validity/reliability analysis and derived structural equation model. The results indicate that there are significant correlations between technology characteristics and task-technology fit and between task-technology fit and continuance intention. The results of this study are expected to provide implications for securing and maintaining the users of Internet banking providers.

A Study on Trust Transfer in Traditional Fintech of Smart Banking (핀테크 서비스에서 오프라인에서 온라인으로의 신뢰전이에 관한 연구 - 스마트뱅킹을 중심으로 -)

  • In this study, we investigated the effect of offline banking trust on smart banking trust. As influencing factors of smart banking trust, this study compared offline banking trust, smart banking's system quality, and information quality. For the empirical study, 186 questionnaire data were collected from smart banking users and the data were analyzed using Smart-PLS 2.0. As results, it was verified that there is trust transfer in FinTech service, by the significant effect of offline banking trust on smart banking trust. And it was proved that the effect of offline banking trust on smart banking trust is lower than that of smart banking itself. The contribution of this study can be seen in both academic and industrial aspects. First, it is the contribution of the academic aspect. Previous studies on banking were focused on either offline banking or smart banking. But this study, focus on the relationship between offline banking and online banking, proved that offline banking trust affects smart banking trust. Next, it is the industrial contribution. This study showed that offline banking characteristics of traditional commercial banks affect the trust of emerging smart banking service. This means that the emerging FinTech companies are not advantageous in the competition of trust building compared to traditional commercial banks. Unlike traditional commercial banks, the emerging FinTech is innovating the convenience of customers by arming them with new technologies such as mobile Internet, social network, cloud technology, and big data. However, these FinTech strengths alone can not guarantee sufficient trust needed for financial transactions, because banking customers do not change a habit or an inertia that they already have during using traditional banks. Therefore, emerging FinTech companies should strive to create destructive value that reflects the connection with various Internet services and the strength of online interaction such as social services, which have an advantage over customer contacts. And emerging FinTech companies should strive to build service trust, focused on young people with low resistance to new services.

  • 최근 스마트폰을 이용한 모바일 금융 서비스 시장이 증대되고 있으나 개방된 무선인터넷을 사용하며 도난 및 분실의 위험이 큰 모바일 환경의 특성으로 인하여 안전한 인증 기술의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 최근 모든 플랫폼에서 사용할 수 있는 오픈 뱅킹에 대한 수요와 편의성에 대한 요구로 기존의 공개키 기반의 인증 방식인 공인인증서를 대체할 수 있는 새로운 인식 기술이 요구되고 있다. 사용자의 생체 특성을 이용하는 바이오 인식 기술은 모바일에 탑재되어 있는 기본입력 장치를 이용하여 바이오 정보를 인식하는 것이 가능하며 별도의 소지 없이 간단히 인식이 가능하기 때문에 모바일 지급 결제에 공인인증서를 대체할 수단으호 사용될 수 있다. 아직 모바일 지급결재에 바이오인식 기술을 적용하기에는 인식률의 정확도 향상이 필요한 상태이나 이를 위한 소프트웨어 및 하드웨어적인 개선이 이루어진다면 안전한 모바일 지급결제 환경을 구축할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • With the increase in the use of mobile banking service, mobile banking has become an attractive target to attackers. Even though many security measures are applied to the current mobile banking service, some threats such as physical theft or penetration to a mobile device from remote side are still remained as unsolved. With aiming to fill this void, we propose a novel approach to prevent e-financial incidents by analyzing mobile device user's input patterns. This approach helps us to distinguish between original user's usage and attacker's usage through analyzing personal input patterns such as input time-interval, finger pressure level on the touch screen. Our proposed method shows high accuracy, and is effective to prevent the e-finance incidents proactively.

  • Purpose This study investigates the relationships between various attributes of smart banking (convenience, security, convergence, and economy), user features (familiarity and innovativeness), perceived usefulness, trust, satisfaction, and continuance intentions and provides a comparison of Google's Android OS and Apple's iOS. Design/methodology/approach We considered a sample of 245 respondents and used structural equation modeling to analyze the data. Findings The results indicate that convergence and familiarity significantly affected perceived usefulness and that security and economy significantly affected perceived trust in smart banking services. The relationships of security, economy, and innovativeness to perceived usefulness and those of convenience and familiarity to perceived trust were stronger for the Android OS than for iOS. The study contributes by proposing an integrated framework and providing a comparison between the Android OS and iOS in the context of smart banking.

  • 사회가 발전함에 따라 사람들의 의류 소비 패턴 매장 매출보다 모바일 쇼핑몰 매출이 늘고 있다. 스마트 뱅킹, 쇼핑몰 애플리케이션 등 모바일 서비스가 일상생활로 스며들면서 모바일로 의류를 구매하는 것은 쉬워졌다. 하지만, 온라인이라는 특성상 옷을 택배로 받고, 입어야 옷이 어울리는 지 아닌 지를 판단할 수 있다는 고질적인 문제점이 있다. 이러한 문제점은 반품 또는 교환으로 이루어지고 이는 쇼핑몰과 소비자 모두에게 굉장히 낭비되는 비용이다. 본 논문에서는 사람의 사진에 옷을 입힌 사진을 제공함으로써, 사람이 옷을 실제로 입지 않더라도 그 때의 fit 을 제공하고자 한다. 이때, 단순한 합성이 아니라, 딥러닝 중 GAN(Generative Adversarial Network)를 사용해 기존 기술의 문제점을 해결하고자 한다.

  • The launch of internet-only banks has brought many changes. As the existing commercial banks and internet-only banks have started the infinite competition, the maintenance of relationships with customers or the creation of new customers is important. For this, it is meaningful to understand the aspect of customers' perception of value. Thus, this study conducted the empirical analysis on the attitude of the existing phone-banking users after the launch of internet-only banks. First, the reliability and mobility out of the characteristics of the existing mobile service of commercial banks had effects on the perceived switching value while the reactivity had no effects on it. Second, in the results of understanding the effects of diverse benefits from internet-only banks on the perceived value, the economic benefit and convenient benefit had positive(+) effects on the perceived switching value. Lastly, the perceived switching value had positive(+) effects on the use intention.

  • 이동통신 시장에서 SKT의 시장 점유율이 점차 높아지면서 KTF와 LGT의 가입자 이탈 막기에 비상이 걸렸다.지난 9월말 기준 이동전화 가입자 현황을 살펴보면 SKT는 전달에 비해 6만2,868명이 늘어난 데 반해 KTF와 LGT는 각각 2,053명과 7,541명이 줄어든 것으로 나타났다. 이 같은 현상은 올해 내내 이어지고 있는 상황으로 LGT의 경우 지난 3월 이후 약 11만6,000여명의 가입자가 이탈한 것으로 나타났다.이에 따라 KTF와 LGT는 SKT의 독주체제를 막기 위해 모바일 뱅킹 사업에 대한 전략적 제휴를 체결하는 등 방안 마련에 부심하고 있는 것으로 알려 졌다. KTF의 한 관계자는“이동통신시장의 특성상 지배적 사업자가 갖는 이점으로 인해 이 같은 현상이 나타나고 있지만 한발 앞선 모바일 콘텐츠 서비스 등으로 가입자 기반을 점차 늘려 나갈 계획”이라고 밝혔다.한편, 초고속인터넷 서비스 가입자수의 경우 지난달에 약 5만여명이 늘어나 증가세가 계속되고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
