All the libraries are facing major financial problems due to a variety of reasons such as non growing or even decreasing appropriations from their administration, continuing inflationary increases for journal and library materials, needs for new or improved facilities. increased costs for new technologies and networks and more demands for services. To address these financial problems, library administrators need to find ways to supplement their budgets through existing as well as new creative external funding strategies including grants, fundraising. sponsorship. resource sharing fees and others. This paper is drawing fundraising and sponsorship. But this financial aid is not an Aladin's lamp which, if rubbed three times, will give you three wishes and all the money you want. So this study is reviewed the history of fundraising, environmental situation in connecting with library law, status-quo, practical process for fundraising and existing sponsorship methods.

The community chest has been known as an effective means for private sectors in social welfare by mobilizing community resources. The purpose of this study is to analyze the process of developing community chest system in Korea and to suggest how Korean community chest system can be changed to develop private sectors in social welfare. To obtain this purpose, the author studied as follows. Firstly, The difference between former Korean community chest law and new Korean community chest law were examined. Secondly, the background of establishment of Korean community chest law and the present condition and state of Korean community chest system for private sectors in social welfare were analyzed. Thirdly, the tasks to be solved about developing Korean community chest system for developing private sectors in social welfare were suggested as follows; 1) activating the demonstration work for influencing the formulation of pragmatic partnership between state and private sectors in social welfare 2) utilizing a variety of communication channels for community participation 3) cooperating and coordinating the relationship between community chest system and the most voluntary social welfare agencies 4) raising as much funds as possible for maintaining autonomy of private sectors in social welfare.

This study examined the analysis of the present condition, structure of fundraising activities, the effect of resource development and strategy for nonprofit social service organizations. This study investigated the fundraising and resource development activities of 356 non-profit organizations and community welfare centers nationwide. The results showed that a period of foundation of non-profit organization and community welfare center in Korea, was 10~14 years and organized with 13~19 workers. The community welfare centers were well prepared for the internal environment for resource development system such as workers, department, management for sponsors and computer program, while others were not prepared. Their recognition for the importance of fundraising activities was higher than the satisfaction of actual condition. The non-profit organization needs management sponsors, planning, public relations, fundraising skills and preparation proposal as the theme of education for fundraising activities. Their plans of the fundraising activity were events, proposal application, fundraising focus on companies, cause-related marketing. The non-profit organization complained of the difficulty about insufficiency manpower and skills of fundraising, external resource development and a budgetary deficit.

Crowdfunding is a novel method for funding from many individuals using web based platform often in return for products or equity. It allows individual entrepreneurs to create diverse products and services. This thesis elaborates a theoretical foundation for identifying the factors that must have motivated the funders in sponsoring crowdfunding projects. Based on the motivation theory, the proposed research model is constructed with intrinsic and extrinsic motivations from relevant literatures. We also examined how different crowdfunding modes ('Keeping It All' and 'All or Nothing') moderate the proposed research model. Based on the survey from various crowdfunding service providers in Korea, this empirical study found that continuous participation in crowdfunding is positively correlated with factors such as enjoyment, familiarity, agency credibility and reward, while peer-influence shows negative correlation. Furthermore, moderating effects of funding modes significantly affect continuous participation. These empirical results contribute insights on the emerging phenomenon of crowdfunding from funders' perspectives and shed lights more on the ways that the actions of platform providers may affect their ability to receive entrepreneurial financing.

This study identifies the statues of the resource development in residential facilities for people with disabilities to review the current level and propose necessary supporting measures to revitalize resource development in this current time when the importance of resource development is rising for social welfare organizations. Specifically, this study conducted a survey on the current statues and needs for resource development and focus group interviews to acquire in-depth opinions on the need for resource development and supporting measures in 255 nationwide residential facilities for the disabled. The results showed that 50% of the resource development for the residential facilities depended on private donations, while the presence of exclusive workforce made differences among development plans, performance and achievement. Also, their resource development methods were limited around direct requests, such as personal recommendations, as they are faced with challenges such as inadequate related expertise and technologies for resource development, lack of exclusive workforce, and lack of interest in available facilities in the local community. With reference to these findings, this study proposes the following development measures: placement of exclusive workforce, adoption of diverse resource development methods, transparent and reliable resource development, and preparation for systematic step-by-step professional training on resource development.

Although the concern about various welfare resources in the private sector is increasing, it has been less discussed on product donation in comparison with cash donation. This study is to explore effective product donation system by understanding the intermediary process experience of product philanthropy between corporations and non-profit organizations. In order to understand such process in details, data was collected by conducting interview in-depth with 4 corporate staff and 2 NPOs staff in charge for product donation. Based on the findings of study, suggestions are discussed for effective intermediary systems of product donation including the use of new technology such as the on-line system of Good 360(formerly Gift In Kind International) and for improving the partnership between corporations and NPOs to activate product philanthropy. Also, these show that it is necessary to reinforce institutional support on tax-incentive and fair market value of giving product.

This study attempts to examine the moderating effect of religiosity in the relationship between religion and secular giving behavior (absolute amount and philanthropic effort). For the analysis, this study utilizes 'Giving Korea 2012' by the Beautiful Foundation and employs Tobit regression model. Focusing on giving amount, major findings are that (1) Protestants and Catholics give greater amounts for secular cause than those with no religious affiliation; and (2) interaction between Protestants and religiosity and interaction between Catholics and religiosity have significant relationships with citizens' secular giving amount in a positive direction. Focusing on philanthropic effort (giving amount divided by family income), major findings are that (1) there is no significant relationship between religion types and citizens' philanthropic effort and (2) interaction between Protestants and religiosity and interaction between Catholics and religiosity have significant relationships with citizens'philanthropic effort in a positive direction. This study provides new knowledge foundation on citizens' secular giving behavior and contributes to developing effective fundraising strategies of nonprofit organizations on religion-related donor markets.

It is a tentative study on the influence of the consumers' motivation of charity impulse on their loyalty who donate to non-profit organizations. Based on the self-determination theory, this thesis paper analyzed the motivation of charity impulse on non-profit organizations which is the main factor influencing the donation loyalty with consumer-nonprofit identification as parametric variables. According to this study, it seems that the charity impulse caused by the concepts of autonomy of the self-determination theory has negative influence on consumer-nonprofit identification, donation loyalty. But relation-competence has positive influence to nonprofit organizations. Considering without any studies on donators' motivation of charity impulse from the aspect of psychology to non-profit organizations, as the very initial exploratory study, this study is conducted to analyze the possible factors to influence customers' motivation of chanty impulse on the basis of the self-determination theory so that it has a vital significance, which can furnish fundamental data to charitable organizations to carry out effective marketing strategies to guarantee the source of the money collection.

This Study has been conducted to examine the transition of Japanese 'Social Welfare' in the light of Monthly Welfare which is the oldest professional journal of social welfare in Japan. Especially, this study has insisted on grasping the interaction among politics, economy, society, and culture through social historic perspective. Consequentially, some important themes are emerged from the journal which had been changed as time passes(Charity, Society and Relief, Social Work, Public Welfare Work, Social Work, and Monthly Welfare) as follows; 'strict declaration of charity and relief', 'relief work and social worker', 'professionalism and science of social work ', 'national life rebuilding and localization of welfare facilities', 'new face of livelihood protection and social work', 'community work and fund raising', and the like. In particular, it is revealed that 'Sahoisaup' is a word of translation from Social Work, in addition this word has been used as a word including diverse works in Japan. Also, it is emphasized that the necessity of Japanese experience could be studied in Korea.

Little empirical study has been conducted concerning board function effectiveness and organizational performance in nonprofit nongovernmental human service organizations in Korea. Using the evaluations of 107 board members and 17 executive directors in Korean Community Chest and 16 regional community chests, this study attempted to examine the level of board function effectiveness and its relationship with organizational performance in these community chests. This study used board function scale developed by Holland and Jackson (1998) to measure board function effectiveness in the following 6 dimensions: contextual dimension: educational dimension: interpersonal dimension: analytical dimension: political dimension: and strategic dimension. This study showed that using 4 points scale, mean of overall board function effectiveness evaluated by board members is 2.62 and mean of overall board function effectiveness evaluated by executive directors is 2.73. That is, it showed that means of overall board function effectiveness are located in the middle point between negative evaluation and positive evaluation. On the other hand, using parametric correlation analysis method, it was found that in these community chests the association between board function effectiveness and organizational performance measured by fund-raising growth rate in $1999{\sim}2000\;and\;1998{\sim}2000$ is very weak and statistically nonsignificant. This study also revealed that using nonparametric correlation analysis method, the association between consensus level in evaluation by board members and executive directors about board function effectiveness, and organizational performance is still very weak and statistically nonsignificant. Finally, this study discussed the direction of future research in board function effectiveness and its relationship with organizational performance and the areas of board management that requires substantial efforts for promoting effectiveness of nonprofit human service organizations in Korea.
