스파이로파이란에 의한 표면 개질 및 자외선에 의해 유도된 표면 전위에 대한 분석 (Surface Modification Using Spiropyran-Derivative and Its Analysis of Surface Potential Induced by UV)

  • 스파이로파이란이 함유된 물질은 자외선의 조사(irradiation)에 의해 메로시아닌 파생물로 변화되는데 이 물질은 페놀레이트 음이온과 아민 양이온으로 구성된 쌍극성(zwitterion) 이온을 가지고 있다. 이와 같은 메로시아닌 표면위에서 페놀레이트 음이온과 니켈 금속 양이온의 복합화는 표면 전하의 변화를 일으키며, 이를 Kelvin prove force microscopy (KFM)를 이용하여 측정하였다. 자외선 노출 시간에 따라 쌍극성 이온의 발생량의 정도가 달라지고, 이것을 표면 전위를 통해서 금속 이온을 매개로 간접적으로 측정할 수 있었으며 표면 전위는 자외선 노출시간이 증가함에 따라 선형적으로 감소하다가 결국 포화상태가 됨을 관측하였다. 또한 자외선 노출 시간이 증가함에 따라 니켈 이온의 부착된 양이 증가되는 결과를 XPS 방법을 사용하여 분석할 수 있었다. 이러한 성질은 다른 금속 이온의 검출 및 양적 분석을 위해 이용될 수 있을 것으로 생각되며, 금속이온과 결합 가능한 단백질이나 세포와 같은 생체물질을 양적 변화를 표면 전하량에 따라 제어할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다. 지금까지의 결과를 바탕으로 고선택성, 고감도를 가지고, 생체 물질의 정량적인 제어가 가능한 지지체 혹은 바이오칩을 만들 수 있을 것으로 예상한다.

  • In this study, we investigate the deposition characteristics of merocyanine dye(MD) Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) film using quartz crystal microbalance (QCM). The MD optical system mixed with fatty acid was fabricated using LB method. And their optical characteristics were investigated using UV spectroscopy. The optical behavior of MD LB film was investigated asto thermal treatment. The resonant frequency and admittance was measured during dissociation of J-aggregate of MD LB film. As a result, it has been suggested that the J-aggregate dissociation in MD LB film by thermal treatment give rise to transformation of oscillation characteristics of quartz crystal.

  • We investigate characteristics of J-aggregation as take advantage of LB technic. In order to confirm the applications possible for the molecular electronic device, the morphological properties of merocyanine dye were investigated by AFM. $\pi$-A curves investigated the surface pressure of the LB film from a liquid to a solid state ranged between 90 and 100 mN/m. We observed aggregation and it's characteristics by using visible reflection spectroscopy. This paper focuses on results obtained in mercocyanide dye. When LB films of merocyanine dye are mixed with arachidic acid, J-aggregate formation is exhibited. J-aggregate formation has been serving as typical systems in revealing the physical and structural aspects of nano-sized molecular aggregates constructed as muiltilayers.

메로시아닌 색소 LB 단분자막의 광메모리 특성에 관한 정성적 연구 (A qualitative study of photomemory characteristics of the LB monolayer films of merocyanine dye)

  • The structural changes of the merocyanine monolayer LB (Langmuir Blodgett) films were investigated. These changes were compared with the typical changes of the molecular structures of merocyanine solutions. The structural changes of quinoid/benzenoid were attained by exposure to atmosphere gases (HCl gas, N $H_{3}$ gas). The photoisomerization was not observed for the monolayer LB film due to their state of $M_{trans}$. But we could obtain the cis/trans photoisomerization characteristics reversibly, after the films were changed to M $H^{+}$$_{trans}$ structure by exposure to HCl gas. We also found that the cis/trans photoisomerization of the LB monolayer films show the memory characteristics.s.

  • The physical properties of the LB films with merocyanine dyes have been published and attract attention due to the possibility of molecular structure control. The evaluation of the thin films was focused for the purpose of molecular structure control. The molecular structure in the case of the thin films with dyes can be examine by optical absorption spectra measurements. In the case of optical absorption spectra of the LB films by the heat treatment at $70^{\circ}C$ in the air, both of the shifted absorption bands decay and a monomer absorption peak of about 530 nm appears instead. And, the formation and dissociation of J-aggregates, anisotropic behavior was no longer observed in the heat treated merocyanine dyes LB films. In the results, study of the merocyanine dyes LB films using optical absorption spectra would an interesting problem of absorption peak shifts and mixed components.

  • The role of ESR spectroscopy in the characterization of functional LB films is discussed. Optical absorption were performed on LB films of binary mixtures of three kinds of merocyanine dyes where DS and 6Me-DS form J-like aggregates but not DO in single component films. The observed optical absorption spectra of mixed films were markedly dependant on the combination of dyes. We found the formation of J-aggregates in a mixed merocyanine dyes containing a non J-aggregate forming dye DO, in a single component case. In structural studios, ESR is of particular important in the analysis of molecular orientation of LB films. Development of new functional LB films may provide more cases where ESR spectroscopy will clarify the nature of such films.

  • Optical absorption were performed on LB films of binary mixtures of three kinds of merocyanine dyes [DO], [DS], and [6Me-DS], where [DS] and [6Me-DS] from J-like aggregates but not [DO] in single component films. The observed optical absorption spectra of mixed films were markedly dependent on the combination of dyes. [DS]$_{1-x}$ [DO]$_{x}$ LB films show a sharp red shift J-like band peak in the while concentration range. We found the formation of J-aggregates in a mixed merocyanine dyes containing a non J-aggregate forming dye [DO], in a single component case. Further investigations on the present and other mixed dye films will be needed to clarify these points.ts.

  • In this study, we investigate the optical characteristics of merocyanine dye Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) film using the oscillation characteristics of quartz crystal. As results, the resistance and frequency shift at the parallel resonance under the UV irradiation is to be going down. This behaviour of resistance and frequency is different from the case of general mass adsorption into the organic film on the quartz crystal. Generally the frequency decrease of quartz crystal oscillator, which has been considered as mass loading, goes along with the resistance increase. Thus it has been suggested that the J-aggregate dissociation in merocyanine dye LB film by UV irradiation give rise to transformation of oscillation characteristics of quartz crystal.

  • We fabricated the optical system of merocyanine dye using Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique because quite uniform orientation could be obtained, which is one of the most important factors to affect to its optical characteristics. The resonance frequency and other electrical parameters at the parallel resonance state were measured using the impedance analyser(HP 4294 A). Also the morphological changes of dye molecules after UV irradiation were observed using AFM. The parallel resonance frequency and resistance by electrical equivalent circuit were decreased with the UV irradiation and these aspects are different from general mass adsorption process. Therefore the structural changes of dye molecules are being considered, that is, the aggregated molecules become dissociated. It indicates that the shifts of the resonance frequency and the others occurred without mass absorption.

스피로벤조피란을 포함하는 셀룰로오스 유도체의 광변색 특성 (Photochromic Properties of Cellulose Derivatives Having Spirobenzopyran Group)

  • 6-(파라헥실페닐)카보닐 스피로벤조피란(6-(p-hexyloxyphenyl)carbonyl spirobenzopyran, COSP)기를 포함하는 새로운 초산 셀룰로오스 유도체(CA-COSP)를 초산 셀룰로오스의 에테르화 반응에 의해 합성하고 이들의 물리적 특성과 광변색 특성을 조사하였다. COSP 치환도는 $^1H$-NMR과 UV 분광학적으로 확인한 결과 반응조건에 따라 셀룰로오스 내 잔류 수산기에 대하여 0.87~45.5%가 됨을 알 수 있었다. 얻어진 CA-COSP의 자외선 분광학 실험 결과 이 고분자는 자외선에 의해 메로시아닌(merocyanine) 구조로 변화하면서 무색에서 푸른색으로 변색하고, 가시광선 또는 열에 의해 다시 투명한 스피로피란(spiropyran)으로 돌아오는 가역적인 색변화가 일어남을 알 수 있었다. 색변화는 용액에서의 경우가 필름보다 빠른 특성을 보여주었으며, 극성용매 중에서는 메로시아닌의 안정성이 더 높아져서 스피로피란으로의 역반응이 더 느리게 일어남을 확인하였다. COSP를 CA-COSP에 혼합할 경우의 상용성을 COSP를 초산 셀룰로오스에 혼합할 경우와 비교하였다. 그 결과 순수한 초산 셀룰로오스의 경우 0.9 wt% 이상 혼합하면 상분리가 관찰되었으나, CA-COSP의 경우에는 48%까지 COSP를 혼합하여도 상분리가 관찰되지 않았다.
