A Study on the Optimal Number of Interfaces in Wireless Mesh Network (무선 메쉬 네트워크에서 인터페이스 수와 성능에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we obtain the optimal number of interfaces/channels in wireless mesh networks by simulation. The simulation study is done in static multi-channel multi-interface environment. When many nodes use a single interface and channel and contend for the channel, collisions of RTS/CTS results in network performance degradation. To avoid such degradation and reduce interferences between the adjacent nodes, use of multi-interface/channel is considered. 802.11a and 802.11b systems offer 12 and 3 orthogonal channels respectively and multi-interface/channel scheme could be applied. But rare research about the optimal number of interfaces/channels has been studied. Therefore, in this paper, simulation study for the optimal number of interfaces/channels in wireless mesh network is made.

A Multimedia Traffic Allocation Algorithm using the Modified Guard Channel Method in Wireless Networks (무선망에서 수정된 Guard 채널 방식을 이용한 멀티미디어 트래픽 할당 알고리즘)

  • The channel allocation strategy is very important in wireless multimedia networks since the mobility of users needs to be considered in addition to diversity of QoS requirements of multimedia traffic. A existing strategy to decrease the probability of handoff failure is guard channel method, which reserves channels at each base station for handoff calls. In this paper, we propose an efficient channel allocation strategy based on the prioritization of handoff calls used in the guard channel method. In the Proposed strategy guard channels are shared between non-real time and real time handoff calls. To decrease the probability of handoff failure, (when resources become scarce), the Call Admission Control takes some resources away from the active calls. The simulation results demonstrate that the Proposed strategy Provides higher channel utilization and lower probability of handoff failure than those of existing strategies.

  • UHDTV 시스템의 개발로 오디오에서도 보다 몰입감 있는 멀티채널 오디오 시스템에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이에, 과거 ITU-R에서 표준이 제정되어 극장 및 HDTV 등에 폭넓게 활용되어 온 5.1채널 대비 elevation 채널을 포함한 더 많은 채널 수를 사용하여 청취자에게 궁극의 몰입감을 줄 수 있는 멀티채널 오디오 시스템이 여러 표준화 단체를 통해 논의되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 ITU-R에서 이루어지는 Advanced Multichannel Stereophonic Sound System 표준화 논의를 중점적으로 살펴보기 위하여, ITU-R의 구성과 현재까지 논의된 이슈 및 앞으로의 전망 등에 대해서 논하고자 한다.

  • Today there is a fierce competition between social commerce and multi-channel distribution in korea and it is need to do comparative analysis about success factors between social commerce and multi-channel distribution. Unlike the other studies that have only used survey method, this study analyzed the success factors between social commerce and multichannel distribution using text mining techniques. We expect that the result of the study not only gives the practical implication for making the competition strategy of the retailers but also contributes to the diverse extension research.

Digital Transmission and Isolation of Multichannel Analog Signals using a Single Optocoupler (옵토커플러의 절연을 이용한 멀티채널 아날로그 신호의 디지털 전송)

  • The transmission of analog signals through Galvanic isolators often results in signal distortion. Optocoupler gain is temperature dependent and also varies considerably, which would cause deformations of analog signals. Digital isolators have better noise immunity than analog, and digital transmission is a cost-effective noise rejection method for multichannel analog signals, which can solve temperature-induced signal distortion problems. Digital data, converted from multichannel analog signals, can be transmitted through a single optocoupler. We proposed advanced circuits and data frame for robust transmission of multichannel analog signals. Numerical experiments were performed to investigate distortion of multichannel analog signals during transmission.

  • 디지털 케이블 방송 시스템은 기존의 아날로그 케이블방송과 달리 하나의 6MHz 주파수 대역에 여러 방송채널들을 전송하고 있다. 즉, MPEG2 또는 H.264/AVC 등 비디오 압축 방식으로 인코딩된 여러 방송채널들과 각 채널의 대한 정보를 제공하기 위한 PSI 정보를 생성하여 멀티플렉싱하여 6MHz 주파수 대역으로 전송하는 방식으로 서비스를 제공한다. 하지만, 근본적으로 디지털 케이블 방송에서는 방송채널 변경 시 QAM Tuner의 주파수 Locking 및 디멀티플레싱, PSI 정보 파싱을 통한 채널 정보 획득, 비디오 및 오디오 디코딩을 위한 RAP(Random Access Point) 획득, 스크램블채널을 위한 ECM 획득 등의 시간 지연이 발생함에 따라 아날로그 케이블방송과 비교하여 상당한 채널 변경 지연이 발생한다. 이러한 이유로 디지털 케이블 방송 서비스의 품질 향상을 위해서는 채널 변경 시간 지연을 최소화하기 위한 연구가 필요하다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 채널 변경 지연 요소들을 분석하고, 채널 변경 지연을 최소화하기 위한 기법을 제안한다.

High Quality Multi-Channel Audio System for Karaoke Using DSP (DSP를 이용한 가라오케용 고음질 멀티채널 오디오 시스템)

  • This paper deals with the realization of multi-channel live karaoke. In this study, 6-channel MP3 decoding and tempo/key scaling was operated in real time by using the TMS320C6713 DSP, which is 32 bit floating-point DSP made by TI Co. The 6 channel consists of front L/R instrument, rear L/R instrument, melody, and woofer. In case of the 4 channel, rear L/R instrument can be replaced with drum L/R channel. And the final output data is generated as adjusted to a 5.1 channel speaker. The SOLA algorithm was applied for tempo scaling, and key scaling was done with interpolation and decimation in the time domain. Drum channel was excluded in key scaling by separating instruments into drums and non-drums, and in processing SOLA, high-quality tempo scaling was made possible by differentiating SOLA frame size, which was optimized for real-time process. The use of 6 channels allows the composition of various channels, and the multi-channel audio system of this study can be effectively applied at any place where live music is needed.

Load-Aware Channel Switching Algorithm for Multi-Channel Multi-Hop Wireless Network (멀티 채널 멀티 홉 무선 네트워크에서 부하 인지 채널 변경 기술)

  • In multi-hop wireless network, multi-channel makes it possible to enhance network performance because it reduces channel interferences md contentions. Recently several schemes have been proposed in the literatures to use multi-channel. Especially, MCR(Multi channel routing protocol), which utilize hybrid interface assignment, is a prominent routing protocol. MCR uses simple way to change channel but efficiently reduce channel interferences. In this paper, we propose a load-aware channel selection algorithm called LCS that enhances the channel switching algerian used in MCR protocol. In LCS, channel of a node is assigned based on collected information about queue length of neighbors. Moreover this paper evaluates the performance of in by using simulation test and testbed demonstration. Test results show that the MCR with LCS outperforms the naive MCR.

Empirical Analysis Approach to Investigating how Consumer's Continuance Intention to Use Online Store is Influenced by Uncertainty, Switching Cost, Offline Trust, and Individual Negative Emotion: Emphasis on Offline-Online Multi-Channels (오프라인-온라인 멀티채널 상황에서 불확실성, 전환비용, 오프라인 신뢰 및 개인의 부정감정이 사용자 지속구매의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증연구)

  • It becomes undeniable trends that offline shopping stores operate their own online shopping stores too. The multi-channel shopping stores like this allow consumers to have much choices to shop from either offline channel or online channel. This trend, however, also opens new research issues. Especially, we have found from literature survey that a new research model is necessary for more in-depth study of the consumer behavior analysis in the multi-channel trends like this, where those constructs such as offline trust, uncertainty, switching cost, and individual negative emotion are considered. It is noted, especially in the multi-channel environments, that uncertainty and switching cost need to be considered, and that individual tends to feel negative emotion much more. By relying on 406 valid questionnaires, we obtained empirical results such that switching cost and offline trust have a positive effect on continuance intention, and uncertainty tends to increase switching cost. Individual negative emotion also affects continuance intention significantly.

  • In this paper, we describe technical trends, standard activities, and upcoming issues relating on UHDTV audio, which requires high quality realistic sound. We also propose a proper solution to it for domestic broadcasting and telecommunication environments.
