Design of Digital Textbook Functions Based on the PATROL Instructional Model (PATROL 교수학습모형 기반의 디지털교과서 기능 설계)

  • The PATROL instructional model only uses digital textbooks. PATROL is an acronym for Planning, Action, Tracking, Recommending, Ordering, and Leading. Teachers have a difficult time using current digital textbooks to determine how much time students spend using course materials. This is because current digital textbooks can only show the content of paper textbooks and display additional multimedia materials. In this study, digital textbook functions were designed based on the PATROL model in order to analyze students' learning situations, diagnose problems, and offer solutions. Digital textbook are based on learning analytics named SEE-PAD. SEE-PAD is composed of the following: Social network analysis; Evaluation and assEssment analysis; Predictive analysis; Adaptive learning analysis; and the analysis Dashboard. I drew and showed the use case and sequence diagrams of SEE-PAD to help design digital textbook functions.

  • We named the system Visual Path Map which visualizes the distribution of clusters according to characteristics and entire process about exercise prescription, and we purpose to visualize a process according to exercise prescription. Visual Path Map visualizes the distribution of clusters according to characteristics, current and object distribution, and changed distribution for prescription. So it visualizes paths from current distribution to object distribution according to prescription. We used SOM in order to express properties along subjects in Visual Path map, and visualized distribution of clusters about physical characteristics, body mass index, and age information of 1,500 ordinary people. Also we visualize practical exercise prescription according to real data of expert of exercise prescription.

  • 하드웨어와 정보통신기술의 급속한 발달에 힘입어 교수-학습환경은 점차로 멀티미디어화 되어가고 있으며, 시간과 공간을 초월하여 언제, 어디서나, 누구에게나 교수-학습 자료를 제공할 수 있는 방향으로 변화되어가고 있다. 교육용 소프트웨어는 이러한 변화 가운데 교육방법상의 획일성과 전근대성을 해결해 줄 대안으로 인식되면서 많은 관심 속에 개발되어왔다. 1997년 교육정보화계획 이후 정부에서는 정책적으로 소프트웨어 구입비를 학교에 지원하고, 매년 교육용 소프트웨어 개발을 확대하여 보급하고 있다. 하지만 개발되고 보급되는 교육용 소프트웨어의 양에 비해 활용되는 정도는 부족하다. 교육용 소프트웨어의 활용 실태 및 교사들이 수업에서 교육용 소프트웨어를 어떻게 활용하고 있는지 파악하여 많은 예산을 들여 보급한 교육용 소프트웨어가 사장되지 않고 교육 헌장에 올바르게 활용될 수 있게 하는 것이 중요하다. 이러한 측면에서 초등학교 교사들의 수업활동과 가장 밀접히 관련되어 있는 교육용 소프트웨어의 활용에 관련된 일반적인 실태와 수업에서 교육용 소프트웨어를 활용하는데 있어 교사들의 인식 및 그 문제점을 규명, 개선 방안을 모색하고자 한다.

  • The advantages of Web Based Training(WBT) are flexible delivery of training, easy distribution, security through registration and ease of content update. And WBT also provide a powerful instructional environment. An obvious instructional advantage of WBT is the ability to provide for the delivery rich multimedia to learners. In this paper, we have proposed the curricula for the Subjects of Computer Education in University. And We implemented the Web Based Training System for the Subjects of Computer Education including the proposed curricula. The Proposed system are composed of student's learning part, lecture's teaching part, and operator's management part. And we show the Effectiveness and Weakness of proposed system, based on the students answering about various questions related proposed system's effectiveness.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the modular multimedia instructional materials emphasizing the particulate nature on the realm of matter in elementary science classes. Features of the material are as follows: 1 To be in focus on particulate model named 'phenomenal magnifying glasses' in order to change the student's belief system of continuous matter into the belief system of particulate matter . The 'phenomenal magnifying glasses' is a new instructional strategy designed to change into the view of particulate matter through facilitating the reflective thinking resulted from the simultaneous consideration of experimental phenomena(macroscopic world) and particulate model(microscopic world). 2. To introduce modular system into the instructional materials, which was consisted of 14 subunits according to the sequential instruction unit of 'molecule and molecular motion'. Each subunit was composed of 5 types of modules(module 1: motivation, module 2: experimental result, module 3: discussion, module 4: phenomenal magnifying glasses, module 5: related experiment) 3. The multimedia program was composed of 36 kinds of experimental animation and 59 kinds of computer animation materials combined with text resources, photographic materials and sounds.

  • 정보기술 발전에 따라 정보 활용 및 처리 역량이 상승하면서 교육 환경의 지능화, 네트워크화로 기술간, 서비스 간 융 복합을 통한 다양한 학습 내용 및 방법이 출현하였으며, 최근 e-러닝 산업에서 스마트기기 보급 확산과 상황 적응적이고 자기 주도적 학습에 대한 소비자의 니즈가 증가하면서 새로운 형태의 교육시스템인 스마트러닝이 부각되고 있다. 이러한 교육 패러다임의 변화에 따라 기존의 교육 콘텐츠를 스마트기기에 적용하기 위해서는 콘텐츠 및 솔루션 구조의 개선이 요구되며, 또한 서비스 제공의 측면에서 다양한 교육 콘텐츠 연동과 교육 서비스 융합을 위한 표준 플랫폼 적용이 필요하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 JVM 환경의 PC 인터페이스를 통해 ePub 표준의 교육용 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 제작기능과 기존 서책형 파일 포맷의 자료 정보를 응용하기 위한 정보변환 모듈, 스마트 기기용 ePub 전자책 뷰어를 포함하는 통합 솔루션 소프트웨어인 ePub Solution을 설계하였다.

  • As the computer is popularized in individual and society, it is using in a many of area. In particular, there are many materials to learn a science knowledge using multimedia through computer. Many of them are web-based learning materials, which are developed by Java or Flash. Since the technology of the representation, storage, com-putation and communication in computer make progress, the environment of education is also developed. Especially, the internet and VR technology will cause the education to change. A key feature of VR is real-time interactivity, in that the computer is able to detect student input and instantaneously modify the virtual world. It is reported that using the VR simulation in chemistry education can increase student engagement in class, promote understanding of basic chem-ical principles, and augment laboratory experience. In this study, application way of the virtual reality technology in chemistry education is examined.

  • Existing web based learning system provides various instruction paths. However, learners are provided with the same instruction content with little consideration of each learner's learning style. Therefore, Current Web based learning is lacking as a system that encourages individual learning, by failing to provide for proper instruction methods for each learner. This prototype system can find the most effective way of learning for each learner by analyzing a learner's learning. It also provides content based on the most effective instruction method for the learner taking into consideration learning style. Especially, this proposed adaptive learning system supporting dynamic link by learning style by evaluation for each steps of leaning process.

A Study on the Perception of 'Korean Proverbs' by Foreign Students (학문목적 외국인 유학생의 '한국 속담' 인지에 관한 연구)

  • The study aims to investigate how international students with over the TOPIK level 3 recognize Korean proverbs. Among the 53 students, 45 students had the qualification of the TOPIK levels. Research results are as follows: 80.0 percentages of those students have studied Korean languages in the language institutes in Korea or their homelands. Only 57.8 percentages of them have learned Korean proverbs. Despite the high interest of foreign students on Korean proverbs, education on their expectations has not been achieved. And they had difficulty recognizing the circumstantial expression of the Korean proverb. Their degree of understanding of Korean proverbs is lower, compared to their TOPIK levels. The absence of systemic education on Korean proverbs makes international students difficult to understand the figurative expression of Korean proverbs. Since many international students want to become Korean language teachers after their studying, the education of proverbs needs to be conducted systematically rather than individually.

  • In this paper, correlation analysis was performed between questionnaire and machine learning based aggressive tendency measurements. this study is part of a aggressive driver detection using machine learning and questionnaire. To collect two types tendency from questionnaire and measurements system, we constructed experiments environments and acquired the data from 30 drivers. In experiment, the machine learning based aggressive tendency measurements system was designed using a driver behavior detection model. And the model was constructed using accelerate and brake position data and hidden markov model method through supervised learning. We performed a correlation analysis between two types tendency using Pearson method. The result was represented to high correlation. The results will be utilize for fusing questionnaire and machine learning. Furthermore, It is verified that the machine learning based aggressive tendency is unique to each driver. The aggressive tendency of driver will be utilized as measurements for advanced driver assistance system such as attention assist, driver identification and anti-theft system.
