  • 인터넷 기술의 발전으로 인하여 다양한 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하고 있으나, 최근 들어 사용자들의 수가 증가함에 따라 정보를 제공하는 쪽에서의 단순한 서비스가 아닌 사용자 위주의 맞춤 정보 서비스를 제공하는 쪽으로 변화되고 있는 추세이다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 차세대 웹 서비스에 초점을 맞추어, 기존의 키워드 검색방법과 수 작업에 의한 하이퍼링크 기법의 제한점을 해결한 사용자 위주의 맞춤 정보 서비스를 제공하는 자동 링크 지원 시스템(ALSII)을 제안한다. 이는 마우스 이벤트에 의한 쉬운 검색 방법과 기존 문서상의 키워드에 관련된 다양한 멀티미디어 정보를 자동으로 연결시켜 하이퍼미디어 웹 문서 작성에 편리하며, 새로운 멀티미디어 통합 정보를 구축하는데 용이하다.

  • IP 멀티미디어 서브시스템(IMS) 제공을 수렴하여 모바일 실시간 멀티미디어 서비스를 기반으로 한 차세대 네트워크 사이버 패류 박물관 시스템이다. 이것은 사용자가 음성, 비디오 및 채팅을 통해 통신할 수 있다. 또한 사용자가 이미지 파일과 비디오 클립을 공유 할 수 있다. 사용자가 쉽게 추가 및 호출 파티, 미디어 스트림과 세션, 장치 및 고정 또는 모바일 연결 사이에 스위치를 제거 할 수 있고, 새로운 채팅 세션을 시작할 음성 또는 화상 통화에 대한 세션을 업그레이드 하거나 새로운 참가자를 추가할 수 있다.

  • In this paper, we describe a design method to manage heterogeneous objects for effective presentation of multimedia application. In order to utilize the individual feature of a heterogeneous object, we define a specialized class for each media object, and it also gives a method to process each specialized class combined with various figures that can support user-definition during the authoring phase for a multimedia presentation. The proposed data structures and processing methods are designed to easily extend the functions for handling a data objects by adding another specialized class definitions to existing object classes.

  • Technical innovation on multimedia data processing brings us new multimedia services. Multimedia services are classified into five groups : TVs, computers, telecommunications, periperals, and softwares. This paper surveys on the services in various aspects and, in particular, computer areas are discussed in detail. To provide the services, major subsystems such as highspeed networks, operating systems, intelligent agent based user interfaces are discussed. In particular, multimedia operating systems are the most actively investigating research area as an infrastructure of multimedia computer systems to provide integrated multimedia services. So, the trends of new multimedia operating systems are analyzed and COSMOS (Collaborative Object Sharing for Multimedia Operating System) multimedia group presentation is discussed. The characteristics, model and abstract data structure of COSMOS is described. The performance analysis of 3 person conference system using audio, video and shared graphic editor on COSMOS shows that taking integrated multimedia operating system approach leads changing of new multimedia service environments.

  • 제안하는 연구는 식품 안전 서비스를 위한 멀티미디어 응용 개발 프레임워크에서 다채널 방식을 사용한다. 그러나 이러한 다채널 방식에서는 미디어간 동기화 문제를 유발 시키는데 수신 측에서는 새로 발생된 데이터의 시작 시점을 서로 맞춤으로서 미디어간 동기화를 실현하였다. 새로운 미디어의 시작 시 항상 제어 데이터를 먼저 전송하여 새로운 미디어 데이터의 생성을 모든 참여자 프로세스에 알린다.

  • In this paper, we propose the two-tiered proxy system that offers a seamless media service to mobile nodes in mobile computing environment. This proxy system is composed of a media proxy and a mobile proxy. We also propose the handoff protocol and the transmission mechanism for the seamless media service. The simulation result shows that the media service is improved in the two-tiered proxy system.

  • Recently, Usage of multimedia server is rapidly increased with expansion of internet that real-time displaying service for multimedia data, MPEG and etc. For these multimedia real-time applications, it is necessary to use a disk array as a storage system. For providing requested service to much more clients at the same time in a multimedia data storage server, considerable varied strategies in a several parts. But especially it is important feature to various parameters for disk array such as relation of striping block size as a system environment and characteristics of video data. In this paper, we implemented real environment of multimedia server which provides MPEG-1 files and evaluated the suitable storage system architectures by applying synthetically generated workloads in the various parameters for disk array.

A Heuristic Search Based Optimal Transcoding Path Generation Algorithm for the Play of Multimedia Data (멀티미디어 자료 재생을 위한 경험적 탐색 기반 최적 트랜스코딩 경로 생성 알고리즘)

  • According to rapidly developed mobile terminals and network in the play environment for multimedia presentation, different end-to-end QoS situations appear. Then the generation of transcoding path algorithm was reviewed to transcode a source'data satisfying the needed QoS from a destination and play it considering given transcoders and network. This method used only workload as a parameter although two parameters, workload and throughput, were needed to process multimedia stream in a transcoder, Therefore generated transcoding path with this method had additional calculation to check playability whether it was safisfed the QoS of a destination or not. To solve the problem this paper suggests T algorithm with evaluation function using isochronous property that is needed for multimedia stream to arrive a destination. That means, most playable path is selected with heuristic search based isochronous property between many transcoding paths. Using the suggested algorithm, a transcoding path can be generated faster to play the multimedia data with different end-to-end QoS in real-time transmission.

  • This paper proposes a motion-video multimedia system needed for computer applications like remote lecturing, distance learning, product demonstrations, and so on. The applications need a multimedia system which can author and play a motion-Video that is composed with computer screen images and audio continuously varing as time flows, not with real motion videos. Since the computer screen images are not like the real world video images in several rejects, MPEG is not competent as a compression algorithm for computer screen images raring continuously In this paper a new compression algorithm has been proposed, and a multimedia system that authors and plays a motion-video file which contains computer screen images and audio has been implemented. Also this paper shows the result of performance evaluation of both the compression algorithm and the multimedia system implemented in the paper.
