The reciprocating type hydrogen compressor is occurred by the pulsation from the mechanism and this pulsation is make much noise and vibration. Therefor snubber is installed for pulsation decreasing. The five type snubber models were designed for increasing pulsation amplitude reduction and decreasing pressure loss in snubber considering output pipe location as design value. And the pressure flued analysis is carried by CFD. In this paper, each type snubber according CFD result are analyzed by the MSC/NASTRAN to identify the vibration characteristic of each type. The vibration results are compared with CFD results.
This study deals with a flow and pressure ripple characteristics for a hydrostatic transmission(HST) consisting of a vari-able axial piston pump connected in an open loop to a fixed displacement axial piston motor. These flow ripples produced by pump and motor in HST interacts with the source impedances of the pump or motor and dynamic characteristics of the connected pipeline, and results in a pressure ripples, Pressure ripples. Pressure ripples in HSP is major source of vibration, which can lead to fatigue failure of components and cause noise. In this paper, the flow ripples generated by a swash plate type axial piston pump or motor in HST are measured by making use of hydraulic pipeline dynamics and the measured pressure data at two points along the pipeline. By using the self-checking functions, the validity of the method us investigated by comparison with the measured and estimated pressure ripples at the halfway section of the pipeline, and good agreement is achieved.
In this study, the authors carried out experiments and numerical simulations in order to clarify the pressure pulsation characteristics in multiple-delivery rotating-cam and stationary-cylinder type radial piston pumps. Also, a tee filter was applied to the pump in order to mitigate the pressure pulsation. Through the experiments and simulations, it was known that pressure pulsation with a magnitude higher than 40% of the mean load pressure could occur in the pump used in the experiments. Moreover, it was confirmed that a tee filter designed in this study could effectively mitigate the pressure pulsation.
This paper deals with pressure ripple and noise reduction characteristics for a hydrostatic transmission(HST) consisting of a variable axial piston pump connected in an open loop to a fixed displacement axial piston motor. Pressure ripples in HST is major source of vibration, which can lead to fatigue failure of components and cause noise. In order to reduce the pressure ripple, an annular tube type hydraulic filter proposes to absorb pressure ripples with the high frequencies components to achieve better noise attenuation in HST. The basic principle tube is applied to propagation of pressure wave, reflection, absorption in cross section of discontinuity and resonance in the hydraulic pipeline. It is experimently confirmed that a hydraulic filter is absorbed to be about 30∼40dB of pressure ripple with high frequencies. These results will assist in modeling and design of noise reduction in hydraulic control systems, and here, should provide a means of designing a quieter HST.
In this work, a circuit with a hydraulic power unit is formulated as a means of predicting the behavior of the prefill valve in the future. The behavior of the prefill valve can be examined by the measurements of the configured power unit, and the performance is determined by using hydraulic pumps, relief valves, and hydraulic hoses that make up the power unit. In particular, pressure/flow pulsation generated by hydraulic pumps can cause instability in the prefill valve and cause noise-induced degradation of the overall performance and reliability of the hydraulic system containing the prefill valve. Therefore, to study the behavior and performance of the prefill valve in a relatively accurate manner, the prediction of the characteristics of the hydraulic power unit driving the prefill valve is very important. In this study, the pulsation characteristics of the hydraulic pump were analyzed to theoretically demonstrate its relationship with different settings of the power unit, such as relief valve pressure settings and the presence/absence of the hose.

Extra-corporeal Life Support System (ECLS) is the device used in emergency cases to substitute a extracorporeal circulation in open heart surgery, cardiac arrest or in acute cardiopulmonary failure. To obtain the effect of counter-pulsation on hemodynamic response in the ECLS quantitatively, we developed cardiovascular model which consists of 12 compartment model of heldt et al. and 3 compartment model of Schreiner et al. based on windkessel approximation. We compared coronary perfusion, arterial pulse pressure, cardiac output, and left ventricular pressure-volume diagram according to flow configuration such as counter-pulsation, copulsation, and continous flow. When counter-pulsation was applied, 5% higher coronary perfusion, 26% lower pulse pressure, and 2% higher cardiac output than copulsation condition were calculated. We conclude that counter-pulsation configuration in the ECLS is hemodynamically more stable than copulsation and influences the positive effect to recover ventricles.
Pulsation is an inherent phenomenon in reciprocating compressors. It interacts with piping to cause vibrations and performance problems. Indiscriminately connecting to a compressor can be dangerous and cost money in the form of broken equipment and piping, poor performance, inaccurate metering, unwanted vibration, and sometimes noise. Piping connected to a compressor can materially affect the performance and response. To minimize these detrimental effects, reciprocating compressor system should be equipped by pulsation suppression system. The system usually comprises bottle volume, called snubber. Snubber is one of the most important parts in hydrogen compressing system. It has installed reciprocating hydrogen compressor. One of these components is snubber which has function to reduce pulsation waveform and to remove the impurities in the hydrogen gas. A snubber has an inclined plate as a buffer, which is installed inside snubber. When the pressure loss and the pulsation of pressure within a snubber is minimized, the snubber could get more applicability. Therefore, a study to find an optimum geometric size on a several snubbers which have different buffer width, has been conducted using a numerical analysis.
The objective of this study is to find the optimum design of a snubber using CFD analysis. Several dimensions such as snubber height(H), snubber diameter(D), buffer width and buffer angle are considered in this study. The present study shows that the CFD can be applied to study the pressure characteristics inside the snubber. The objective of the snubber design optimization are to minimize a pressure loss and the pulsation ratio. Numerical results such as particle track, pressure distribution and turbulent kinetic energy are used to analyze the critical area and pressure behavior inside the snubber. As a result, snubber model with H/D ratio of 3.23 and buffer angle of $40^{\circ}$ has a minimum pressure loss. On the other hand, snubber model with H/D ratio 4.41 and buffer angle $10^{\circ}$ has a minimum pulsation ratio.
