A Case Study on the Effectiveness of Major-friendly Contents in Software Education for the Non-majors (비전공자 소프트웨어 교육에서 전공맞춤형 학습 콘텐츠의 효과에 관한 사례 연구)

  • Recently, there is a strong interest in SW basic education for non-major students in universities, but SW non-majors are having a hard time learning. This paper proposes a class operation method that utilizes customized contents reflecting the interests of non-majors, rather than using existing learning contents for SW majors. The proposed method is to improve the education effects by increasing the learning motivation of SW non-majors. The paper shows a case study of A university, which has operated non-major SW basic education for more than five years. The case study analyzed the change of class satisfaction of students of pre- and post- learning group that reformed major-friendly contents about the same curriculum. As a result, the students of social sciences are interested in learning contents using public data that can examine the social and cultural phenomena of the country, and humanities students are interested in text contents such as novels, history books, and SNS articles. In addition to the understanding of the lectures, the class satisfaction was also greatly improved, and it showed that the major-friendly contents is useful for SW basic education of non-majors.

Effect of repeated learning for two dental CAD software programs (두 종의 치과용 캐드 소프트웨어에 대한 반복학습의 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess the relationship between the time spent designing custom abutments and repeated learning using dental implant computer aided design (CAD) software. Materials and Methods: The design of customized abutments was performed four stages using the 3DS CAD software and the EXO CAD software, and measured repeatedly three times by each stage. Learning effect by repetition was presented with the learning curve, and the significance of the reduction in the total time and the time at each stage spent on designing was evaluated using the Friedman test and the Wilcoxon signed rank test. The difference in the design time between groups was analyzed using the repeated measure two-way ANOVA. Statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS statistics software (P < 0.05). Results: Repeated learning of the customized abutment design displayed a significant difference according to the number of repetition and the stage (P < 0.001). The difference in the time spent designing was found to be significant (P < 0.001), and that between the CAD software programs was also significant (P = 0.006). Conclusion: Repeated learning of CAD software shortened the time spent designing. While less design time on average was spent with the 3DS CAD than with the EXO CAD, the EXO CAD showed better results in terms of learning rate according to learning effect.

  • Targeted career development is critical for student success but is often lacking for underrepresented students at many public higher-education institutions due to insufficient career counseling resources. We propose an innovative career development tool leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance student career prospects through three steps: (1) identifying relevant jobs by analyzing resumes, (2) pinpointing skill gaps using external resources such as classroom assignments, in addition to resumes, and (3) suggesting customized learning paths. Our tool accurately matches jobs in real-world settings, identifies true skill gaps while reducing false positives, and provides learning paths that receive high satisfaction scores from faculty. Future research will enhance the solution's capabilities by incorporating diverse external resources and leveraging advancements in LLM technology to better support early-stage career seekers.

  • With the increasing demand of foreign language education in colleges, an effective testing and study system is also needed especially for large scale classes. In this paper, 1 propose a new online system for running large scale foreign language classes which supports not only testing function but also individually customized studying and diagnosis functions. Using the proposed system enables saving of testing space and helps all students get equally good testing and study environment regardless of class size and lecturers.

  • 본 논문은 공공 데이터 Open API와 TMDB(The Movie Database) API를 이용하여 사용자의 선호 영화를 Google에서 제공해주는 Tensoflow로 인공신경망 딥러닝 학습하여 사용자가 선호하는 영화를 맞춤 추천하는 애플리케이션의 설계 및 구현에 대하여 서술한다. 본 애플리케이션은 사용자가 쉽게 영화를 추천받을 수 있도록 만들어진 애플리케이션으로 기존의 필터링 방식으로 추천하는 방식의 애플리케이션들과 달리 사용자의 취향을 딥러닝 학습을 통해 최적의 영화 Contents를 추천함과 아울러 기존 영화의 특성을 학습하여 흥행할 신규 영화를 예측하는 기능 또한 제공한다. 본 애플리케이션에 사용된 신규 영화 흥행 예측 모델은 약 85%의 정확도를 보이며 사용자 맞춤추천의 경우 기존 장르 추천이나 협업 필터링 추천보다 딥러닝을 통한 장르, 감독, 배우 등의 보다 세밀한 학습 추천이 가능하다.

Development and Intervention Effect of Customized Instructional Program for Underachievers in Middle School Science (중학교 과학학습 부진 유형별 맞춤형 프로그램의 개발 및 적용 효과)

  • The purposes of this study were to develop the customized instructional programs by the causes of science underachievement and to identify the effectiveness of these programs. For these, we analyzed the characteristics of underachievers and causes of science underachievement and classified 22 7th grade science underachievers into three different types such as lack of science process skill, lack of science learning motivation, and lack of science learning strategy. They then were divided into the experimental and comparative groups. Instructional programs treated for both groups covered the same topics and were conducted once a week for 60 minutes each time for 15 weeks. Eleven students in the comparative group were treated with an activity-centered science program that dealt with basic science concepts. Unlike science underachievers in the comparative group, those in the experimental group were given customized instructional program. After the treatment, students were administered several tests including a test on awareness of the program, science process skill test, science learning motivation and strategy test, and academic science achievement test. In addition to the results of those tests, worksheets, daily activity reports, and interviews were used to evaluate a customized instructional program that was applied to the experimental group. Results of the study showed that these programs relieved science underachievers from the cause of poor achievement and accordingly help them achieve better performance in academics. In addition, both lack of learning motivation and lack of learning strategy types tended to relieve the other causes of science underachievement. Also, the experimental group showed a high level of satisfaction with the customized instructional programs.

  • 사용자에게 맞춘 개인화된 제품과 서비스를 제공하는 기술의 발전으로 개인화의 수요는 점점 늘어날 것으로 전망하고 있다. 또한 개인 맞춤형으로 전문 스포츠 선수화, 족부 장애우를 위한 정형 제화 등 전문적인 기능 중심의 개인화나 패션을 위한 스타일 중심의 개인화 등 개인 맞춤 제작 신발을 제작할 때 기존의 아날로그적인 방식으로 발 변인을 측정했을 때 각 변인에 대해 기준점이 명확하지 않아서 재현성이 떨어진다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 자를 이용해 간단히 측정 가능한 기본적인 발 변인 이용하여 다른 변인들을 학습하고 딥러닝을 이용해 추정하는 방법에 대해 서술한다. 이를 위해 20개의 발 변인을 휙득 하였고 그 중 6개의 기본적인 발 변인을 이용해 14개 변인을적합 방지를 위해 Dorpout을 적용해 학습하고 학습한 데이터를 이용해 학습하지 않은 데이터를 테스트해 각 변인별 결과를 보여준다.

  • The purpose of this study is to design career learning program content and to suggest a development plan in order to assist in freshmen's successful adaptation. To accomplish this goal, first, we reviewed the precedent studies on the situations and problems of freshmen and education programs for freshmen. H. university freshmen's needs for support programs were analyzed. Second, a career learning program conceptual model was developed based on the results of precedent studies and program needs analysis. Third, the program contents for enhancing career learning competency were designed, and we suggested a development plan focusing on customized content, emotional support, and on-off line convergence program. It developed career learning tracks, big data analysis, and action planning as main content. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for the development and implementation of competency-based customized career learning programs for freshmen, which will help improve the quality of career learning programs and freshmen's adaptability.

  • The objectives of this study are to investigate core learning ability necessary for the 21st century and to develop core human resources required for social and national development in the future. The '21st Century Learning Ability Project' is to approach the existing knowledge and learning multidisciplinary and interactively based on the learning ability of each learner and individually and socially valuable themes. Even in Korea, a variety of intersubject integrative educational curriculum was attempted to cultivate learning ability. However, there are not enough teachers who can teach the differences between the content and characteristics for each subject by fully understanding them. Thus, it is difficult to apply them easily to the field of education. Thus, this study develops the multidisciplinary customized educational curriculum in order to develop the learning ability necessary for the 21st century, analyzes the reality of the educational curriculum integrating the academic knowledge in order to support this effectively. As a result, this study offers the interdisciplinary customized integrated model applicable to elementary and middle schools.

  • In this paper, we capture learning while taking a video, play time and time line of the video frame in the form of areas that require re-learning in HTML5 mobile web store. When you select an image frame can display a list of the frame to take advantage of HTML5 Video tag up to 9 capture and save the playing time at the position. Implemented in a manner that runs Effects as compared to learning to run the entire frame capture learning and re-learning frame partial immersion learners matchumhyeong storytelling can be implemented. Interval Iterative Learning in a random order, so learners can level alignment by iterative learning on academic performance can have a positive effect.
