The Control for the 2-Axis Stabilized Gimbal using the PI-LEAD Algorithm (PI-LEAD 알고리즘을 이용한 2축 안정화 짐벌 시스템 제어)

  • Since the nonlinear factors such as friction in a mechanical servo system can't be easily measured nor estimated accurately. Therefore, it is difficult to compensate friction correctly. Friction makes a significant error in a 2-axis stabilized gimbal system and finally fails to reach the ultimate control performance goals. To solve these problems, lots of studies on the control methods applying observer have been performed. However, these methods can be used in specific conditions and are limited to apply them to the accurate 2-axis stabilized gimbal system in military sector. This paper deals with the PI-LEAD algorithm which is modified with a general and robust PID algorithm, proves the effect of the algorithm through modeling and simulation, and verifies the performance by applying the algorithm to the real 2-axis stabilized system. It is verified through the performance test that the PI-LEAD algorithm minimizes the error caused by friction and meets requirements of the accurate servo system.

  • 트라이볼로지란? 상대운동을 하면서 서로 영향을 미치는 두면 및 이와 관련된 문제로 마찰, 마모, 윤활에 대한 것을 말한다. 트라이볼로지는 1960대에 조사 연구되기 시작하면서 학문적으로 많은 정리가 이루어졌고, 현재 현대사회에서 문제가 되고 있는 에너지 및 환경 문제를 해결할 수 있는 핵심 요소로 떠오르고 있다. 특히 4차 산업혁명시대를 맞이하여 많은 부분에서는 인공지능, 클라우딩, 빅 데이터 및 로봇 등을 이야기하고 이에 대한 투자 및 개발을 이야기하고 있지만, 이 4차 산업을 뒷받침할, 강인한 제조업이 없으면 불가능한 혁명이라고 말 할 수 있다. 특히 트라이볼로지는 제조업의 무인 자동화 및 무인 로봇 등 이를 필요로 하는 산업 기기와 같은 전반적인 부품 및 소재의 마모를 감소시켜, 기계 장치의 신뢰성을 증가시킬 수 있다. 마찰은 두 물체 상호간의 열 발생을 억제 시키고, 마모는 물체의 표면 경도가 높으면 높을수록 마모량이 적어진다고 알려져있다. 따라서 트라이볼로지와 관련한 표면 처리의 경우, 고온 환경에서의 사용성 증대 및 고경도화 그리고 저마찰을 위한 방향으로 개발 발전되어져 왔다. 트라이볼로지 코팅 중 내마모 코팅의 경우, 티타늄 원소를 기본으로 알루미늄(Al) 및 실리콘(Si)를 합금화하면서, 고경도화 및 내열성을 증대시키는 방향으로 발전되어 왔다. 그에 따라 표면경도의 경우, 4000 Hv, 내열성 $1200^{\circ}C$에 도달였다. 하지만 여전히 철계와의 마찰계수는 0.3 이상으로 이를 낮추는 방법이 요구되고 있다. 최근 트라이볼로지 코팅 중 카본을 함유한 비정질 다이아몬드상 카본 막 (Diamond like Carbon Film : DLC) 이나, Diamond 막의 수요 증가는 마찰을 낮추어 융착마모를 줄이려는 노력으로 볼 수 있다. 특히 수소를 포함하지 않는 고경도 탄소막인 ta-C(tetrahedral amorphous-Carbon)의 수요는 증대되고 있으며, 이에 대한 후막화 및 양산화 기술의 개발의 현재 isssu로 대두되고 있다.

A Study on the Improvement Mechanical Properties of Geosynthetic Interface (토목섬유 접촉면의 역학적 특성 개선에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, Generally sandbag was used to reinforce slope or restore levee by using the in-situ material. To increase shear strength of sandbag, the Velcro system was effective for geosynthetic interface and make up for the weakness of shear strength between sandbag to sandbag. In this study, shear properties of geosynthetic-geosynthetic and geosynthetic-soil were evaluated from large scale direct shear tests. The cohesion and the angle of internal friction of each interface was evaluated. And laboratory model tests were performed to compare strength of reinforcement with strength of none reinforcement. As a result of this study, the cohesion and the angle of internal friction of each interface was increased, especially the cohesion was increased more than the angle of internal friction. Also according to the result of model test, the bearing capacity was increased by 20%.

  • The ultimate behavior of high-tension bolted joints with various plate thickness and bolt size is investigated using nonlinear F.E. analysis and experimental study. The relation with sliding load, bolt deformation, and failure modes are presented based on plate thickness and bolt size. Three kinds of the bolt diameter(M20, M22, M24) and five types of the steel plates (l2mm, 16mm, 20mm, 30mm, 40mm) are considered for the ultimate behavior of the bolted joints. The numerical model, constructed by commercial F.E. program, ABAQUS, of ultimate behavior of bolted joints is introduced and verified by experimental results. The force-displacement and force-axial strain relations are measured and compared with the results by 3D finite element analysis.

Flexural Behavior of Steel Composite Beam with Built-up Cross-section Considering Bolt Deformation (볼트의 변형을 고려한 강재 조립 합성보의 휨거동)

  • The analysis and results of flexural behavior for steel composite beam with built-up cross-section considering bolt deformation are presented in this paper. The bolt deformation and the restrict effect due to bolt-connection and friction are considered to investigate the flexural behavior of steel composite beam. Nonlinear spring element in ABAQUS is used to consider bolt deformation, also the results are compared with those in case bolt deformations are ignored. The displacement, bending stresses and shear stresses are calculated by F.E. model, and these results are compared with the analytical value of no interaction beam, partial interaction beam and full interaction beam. As a result of analysis, the behavior of composite beam is more dependant on the composite rate than the friction of the steel. When the composite rate is more than 50%, the behavior of composite beam considering the effects of bolt deformation is similar to that of fully composite beam.

  • Upsetting of non-circular blocks is characterized by the three-dimensional deformation with lateral sidewise spread as well as axial bulging along thickness. A kinematically admissible velocity field for the upsetting of prismatic or non-prismatic blocks is proposed which considers the different frictional conditions at the top and bottom surfaces of a billet. From the proposed velocity field the upper-bound load and the deformed configuration are determined by minimizing the total power consumption with respect to some chosen parameters. Experiments are carried out with annealed SM 15C steel billets at room temperature for different billet shapes and frictional conditions. The theoretical predictions both in the forging load and the deformed configurations are shown to be in good agreement with the experimental observations. Therefore, the velocity field proposed in this work can be used for the prediction of forging load and deformation in upsetting of prismatic or non-prismatic blocks, considering the different frictional conditions at two flat dies.

Hydrodynamic Changes in the Keum River Estuary (2) - By Numerical Model Tests - (금강하구역의 수동역학적 변수 (2) -수치실험을 중심으로-)

  • In order to find out hydrodynamic changes due to huge complex constructions in the Keum River Estuary, two-dimensional finite element model is applied. Model results show that gate closing of the estuary dam yields tide amplifications at Kunsan Inner Port to 17 cm and 6 cm of M$_2$ and S$_2$, while 5 cm and 3 cm of amplification at Kunsan Outer Port. Tidal currents in the main channel due to stepwise flow-guide dikes construction have been simulated and show that dynamic equilibrium bottom shear stress is 0.4 N/m$\^$2/ on this Keum River Estuary. Sedimentation rates R have correlation with maximum bottom shear stress (equation omitted), R=-0.37-0.40 ln $\tau$.

  • This study deals with the flow over a flat plate with repeated roughness elements of 2-dimensional rectangular shape, which can be applied into the study on the natural geographical roughness and the turbulent flow on roughened solid surface. Part 1 of the study showed that the ratio between the spacing and the height of roughness elements plays a crucial role in developing the flow pattern near wall surface. The present study complements the turbulence characteristics, the utilization of friction velocity as well as integral parameters. Results confirmed that k-type roughness(s/H=7 or 14) is certainly a more effective means than d-type roughness (s/H=3.5) in thickening the viscous region.

  • DDA (Discontinuous Deformation Anlaysis) is one of the latest numerical analysis which has merits of both FEM and DEM. In this research a new edge-to-edge contact algorithm was applied on DDA. With adoption of new edge-to-edge contact state definition, sub-algorithm was improved about open-close iteration, contact state judge, contact detecting, and friction forces acting on joints. Newly applied DDA was verified based on two different cases. The DDA results show good agreement with numerically predicted one.

  • This paper estimates the bearing capacity of the eccentrically loaded footing by the upper bound of limit analysis method. Meyerhof method and Saran method used the limit equilibrium method in the estimation of bearing capacity. But, in this study the bearing capacity is estimated by the upper bound method. In applying the upper bound, the result depends on the failure mechanism. So this analysis uses the conventional failure mechanisms or the modified failure mechanisms. The comparisions are made between the results from this analysis and those obtained from the limit equilibrium method. Also, the influences of the parameters-eccentricity, internal friction angle, surcharge, G-value, and base friction of the footing on the bearing capacity factors have been examined.
