  • The paper describes a design process of the connection control function that performs overall procedures of optical network control system in the Next Generation - Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (NG-SDH) based transport system. Here, the NG-SDH means a new SDH technology that could perform automatic connection control with a granularity of VC-3 (about 50M) or VC-4 (about 150M) according to the increase and decrease of traffic, which is different from the existing technology that could perform connection control only with a granularity of a physical SDH link (STM-l, STM-4, STM-16, STM-64, STM-256 etc). The NG-SDH based connection control allows an ingress NG-SDH node to control the appropriate connection establishment process according to connection types such as Permanent Connection (PC), Soft Permanent Connection (SPC), Switched Connection (SC) over various SDH and Ethernet line cards.

  • XML(eXtensible Markup Language) has emerged as a prevalent standard for document representation and exchange on the Internet. XML documents contain information of different sensitivity degrees, so that XML Document must selectively shared by user communities. There is thus the need for models and mechanisms enabling the specification and enforcement of access control policies for XML documents. Mechanisms are also required enabling a secure and selective dissemination of documents to users, according to the authorizations which the users have. In this paper, we give an account of access control model and mechanisms, which XML documents can be securely protected in web environments. We make RBAC Based access Control polices to the problem of secure and selective access of XML documents. The proposed model and mechanism guarantee that the secure use for XML documents through definition of authority for element, attribute, link within XML document as well as XML document.

  • RConsumer Portal is defined as "a combination of hardware and software that enables two-way communication between energy service providers(ESP, like KEPCO) and equipment within the consumer's premises". The portal provides both a physical link(between wires, radio waves, and other media) and a logical link(translating among language-like codes and etiquette-like protocols) between in-building and wide-area access networks. Thus, the consumer portal is an important, open public shared infrastructure in the future vision of energy services. This paper presents an XML based standard specification of service-oriented, open protocol for consumer portal system architecture. In the framework level, the XML protocol provides a useful bridge between services and platforms. The proposed standard protocol has been implemented into our developing consumer portal pilot system. The results imply the potential of global standards for consumer portal system by its minimum overhead in network and processor. The reposed XML is designated psXML in this paper.

  • Since being constructed without any infrastructure-based network, ad hoc network has been received much attention as a key technology for ubiquitous networks. Due to high bit error rate and dynamically changing network topology in ad hoc network, the routing protocol that provides stable multi-hop communication path is the one of the key issues to address. The previously proposed ad hoc routing protocols have their limitations on network overhead, stability, and scalability. In this paper, we consider hybrid wireless network, which can overcome shortcomings of ad hoc network, and propose a novel routing protocol called zone master-based routing protocol. We verify with computer simulations that the proposed routing protocol outperforms other existing routing protocols in the various wireless environments.

  • This paper proposes and measures the performance of a distributed EIT (Electrical Impedance Tomography) image reconstruction algorithm which has a master-slave structure. The image construction is a computation based application of which the execute time is proportional to the cube of the unknowns. After receiving a specific frame from the master, each computing node extracts the basic elements by executing the first iteration of Kalman Filter in parallel. Then the master merges the basic element lists into one group and then performs the sequential iterations with the reduced number of unknowns. Every computing node has MATLAB functions as well as extended library implemented for the exchange of MATLAB data structure. The master implements another libraries such as threaded multiplication, partitioned inverse, and fast Jacobian to improve the speed of the serial execution part. The parallel library reduces the reconstruction time of image visualization about by half, while the distributed grouping scheme further reduces by about 12 times for the given target object when there are 4 computing nodes.

  • The weapon system based on voice call can cause delay, error or damage to the message during the exchange of information. Furthermore, since the weapon system has a unique message format, it has limited data distribution. Therefore, a Korea Variable Message Format(KVMF) has been developed in this study to utilize a standard sized data format to guarantee the transmission quality and minimize the transmission amount. The ground tactical data link system quickly and accurately shares tactical information by incorporating a field management system that utilizes the KVMF standard message in the mobile weapon system. In this study, we examine the possibility of performing the mission immediately by recovering the state of network joining when a normal/abnormal termination situation of the battlefield management system occurs.

  • Tactical communication environment evolving for the purpose of providing services such as voice, video and text based on ALL-IP. Therefore, To be able to guarantee QoS level which meets the required level of subscriber for these services in the constrained tactical communication infrastructure, it is required to take the characteristics such as wireless transmission link, mobility of troops or personal into service quality scheme. In this paper, to support differentiated QoS for each individual or mission in the tactical communication environment, we presents a technique that can provide same QoS level which was served originally regardless of the situation to user's move through dynamically determining the QoS level to be provided at the time of the service request on VoIP-Switch.

  • This paper proposes a proactive authentication scheme using credentials based on chameleon hashing in MIH environments. There is a proactive authentication structure defined by IEEE 802.21 Security Study Group for the link access in MIH environment. Both schemes based on EAP and on PKI can be applied to such structure, but the former has caused network traffic due to the complicated authentication procedure and the latter has complex structure for managing certificates. The proposed scheme performs the proactive authentication procedure only between a mobile node and a MIH Key Holder by using credentials based on chameleon hashing. Our scheme reduces the network traffic since authentication with the server is unnecessary in MIH environment and PKI structure is not required as well. In addition, the proposed scheme provides secure PFS and PBS features owing to the authenticated Diffie-Hellman key exchange of the chameleon-based credential.

  • Capture-and-replay technique is a common automatic method for GUI testing. Testing applications on Android platform cannot use directly capture-and-replay technique due to the testing framework which is already set up and technical supported by Google and lack of automatic linking GUI elements to actions handling widget events. Without capture-and-replay testing tools testers must design and implement testing scenarios according to the specification, and make linking every GUI elements to event handling parts all by hand. This paper proposes a more improved and optimized approach than common capture-and-replay technique for automatic testing Android GUI widgets. XML is applied to extract GUI elements from applications based on tracing the actions to handle widget events. After tracing click events using monitoring in capture phase test cases will be created by communicating status of activated widget in replay phase with API events.
