A Study on the Effect of the Superiors' Leadership Type on Job Satisfaction of University Librarians (상사의 리더십 유형이 대학도서관 사서들의 직무만족에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out how the leadership of superiors at the university library - transformational and transactional leadership - could affect the job satisfaction of subordinates. For this purpose, verification was performed with the subject of 155 librarians working at 11 university libraries in Busan. The following are the results of this study. 1) There was positive correlation between the leadership type of superiors and the job satisfaction of subordinates. Transformational leadership turned out to have higher correlation with job satisfaction than transactional leadership. 2) Intellectual stimulation·inspiration affects promotion practices and supervision style. 3) When analyzing the controlling effect of individual characteristics, only gender and marital status are used as a controlling variables between transformational leadership and job satisfaction.

  • This study aimed to analyze the effects that the exchange relationship among employees engaged in the wedding industry in Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongnam area exerted on job satisfaction and voluntary service intentions. For this purpose, a theoretical model was presented based on previous studies and the relationship among variables was analyzed based on the analysis results through a survey. There have recently been great difficulties in the whole wedding industry due to the global economic depression and the low birthrate. Moreover, it is hard to optimize the future business environment. In particular, the low birthrate has weakened the demand base of the wedding industry. As a result, it is expected that the competition among companies will be more fierce in the wedding industry. Employees' voluntary service intention become much more important to overcome difficulties in this industry. Employees' voluntary service intentions can be possible when their job satisfaction is achieved. Many studies report the result that this job satisfaction can naturally be achieved when the high quality exchange relationship among a leader, team members (co-workers) and customers is formed. It is viewed that employees' voluntary service intentions should be induced through job satisfaction to improve the profitability through the efficient operation and management of the system. A leader of the organization should make an effort to form the high-quality exchange relationship with members, support so that team members(coworkers) and other employees can get along together and the teamwork can be improved and induce them to improve a high level of service quality with friendly customer services. In spite of the significance of the study discussed above, there are the following limitations in this study. There is a limit to a certain extent in generalizing study conclusions because the study was limited to the Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongnam area. If practical surveys which full- and part-time employees are included in the composition of samples are conducted for wedding suppliers in the country in the future, the quality of study will be able to improve.

  • In this paper, we configure a Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) gateway using an arduino and raspberry pi which are recent issues with a representative open source hardware. RFID technology is emerging as a key technology in a variety of environments as a technique to automatically identify objects using a radio frequency signal. In this paper, we propose a distributed RFID gateway for providing various communication methods and processing a large amount of RFID tag information efficiently, and to increase the scalability and middleware communication efficiency of the RFID reader. Existing RFID middleware systems have the problems that they should adhere the web service for interworking with a reader and the communication standard. Therefore, in this paper, we comprise our RFID gate to satisfy not only the serial communication configuration but also various digital signal processing standard so that it increases the communication efficiency of the middleware system.

A Design of Transceiver for 13.56MHz RFID Reader using the Peak Detector with Automatic Reference Voltage Generator (자동 기준전압 생성 피크 검출기를 이용한 13.56 MHz RFID 리더기용 송수신기 설계)

  • In this paper, the transceiver for RFID reader using 13.56MHz as a carrier frequency and meeting International Standard ISO 14443 type A, 14443 type B and 15693 is presented. The receiver is composed of envelope detector, VGA(Variable Gain Amplifier), filter, comparator to recovery the received signal. The proposed automatic reference voltage generator, positive peak detector, negative peak detector, and data slicer circuit can adjust the decision level of reference voltage over the received signal amplitudes. The transmitter is designed to drive high voltage and current to meet the 15693 specification. By using inductor loading circuit which can swing more than power supply and drive large current even under low impedance condition, it can control modulation rate from 30 percent to 5 percent, 100 perccnt and drive the output currents from 5 mA to 240 mA depending on standards. The 13.56 MHZ RFID reader is implemented in $0.18\;{\mu}m$ CM08 technology at 3.3V single supply. The chip area excluding pads is $1.5mm\;{\times}\;1.5mm$.

A Study on Mediating Effects of Wedding Industry Employees Equity Perception in the Relationship between Transformational Leadership and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (웨딩산업에 종사하는 리더의 변혁적 리더십과 조직시민행동의 관계에서 공정성 지각의 매개효과에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this study is to examine the effect of transformational leadership of the leader in the wedding industry on the behavior of employees, and also to examine the equity perception of employees on their behavior. As a result of analysis, when the relation between transformational leadership and organizational citizenship behavior was examined, transformational leadership had not effect on behavior of employees. Thus, hypothesis 1 was rejected. As transformational leadership had significant effect on equity perception, hypothesis 2 was adopted. When the relation between equity perception and organizational citizenship behavior was analyzed, equity perception had significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Thus, hypothesis 3 was adopted. When the mediating effect of equity perception in the process of the effect of transformational leadership on organizational citizenship behavior as hypothesis 4 was examined, equity perception had partial mediating effects. Thus, hypothesis 4 was partially adopted. Accordingly, the leader in the wedding industry needs to demonstrate transformational leadership in order to promote organizational citizenship behavior of employees and also makes employees to feel impartial treatment and procedural impartiality. Further studies on practical measures of this issue are recommended.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of leadership types and self-efficacy, job satisfaction on organizational performance. The hypotheses were suggested and data analyses were performed to verify these hypotheses. Data gathering were performed by self-administered questionnaires on the samples of 423 mechanical fields employees in Busan & kyongnam. The results of structural model exhibit that transformational leadership, transactional leadership was positively related to elf-efficacy. And it was also found that self-efficacy, job satisfaction was positively related to organizational performance. Expecially, it showed self-efficacy, job satisfaction as a mediator on the relationships between the leadership types and organizational performance.

A Verification on the Effectiveness of Middle Managers' Emotional Leadership in Food Service Management Companies (위탁급식업체 중간관리자의 감성리더십 효과성 검증)

  • The purposes of this study were to: a) provide evidences concerning the effects of emotional leadership b) examine the impacts of emotional leadership on employee-related variables, 'job satisfaction', 'organizational commitment', 'organizational performance' and 'turnover intention', and c) identify a conceptual framework underlying emotional leadership. A survey was conducted from August 23 to November 3, 2005 to collect data from mid-level managers in food service company headquarters (N=219). Statistical analyses were completed using SPSS Win (12.0) for descriptive, reliability, factor and correlation analyses and AMOS (5.0) for confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. The main results of this study were as follows. First, the managers gave the highest point to their leaders in the emotional leadership competence 'organizational awareness : reading the currents, decision networks, and politics at the organizational level' and gave the lowest point in the emotional leadership competence 'influence: wielding effective tactics for persuasion'. Second, the means of job satisfaction was above the midpoint (3 points). Employees' job satisfaction with 'coworkers' was relatively high. However, the extents of satisfaction with 'payroll' 'promotion', and 'work environment' were relatively low. Third, the organizational commitment was above the midpoint (3 points). In the organizational commitment, 'loyalty' factor was higher than 'commitment' factor. Fourth, the means of organizational performance was above the midpoint. The highest organizational performance variable was 'internal efficiency; trying to reduce cost' and the lowest organizational performance variable was 'internal fairness ; equitable treatment and all are treated with respect with no regard to status and grade'. Fifth, most respondents intended on 'thinking of quitting ; towards turnover process'. Sixth, the test of hypothesis using structural equation modeling found that emotional leadership produced p[Isitive effects on job attitude and job performance. Emotional leadership enhanced job satisfaction and organizational commitment, and in turn, employees' attitude positive effects on organizational performance; emotional leadership also had a direct impact on organizational performance

The Gender Differences in the Effects of Work-Family Conflict on the Life Satisfaction and Job Attitudes (직장-가정간 갈등이 삶의 만족 및 직무 태도에 미치는 효과에 있어서의 성차: 우리나라 관리직 공무원들을 대상으로)

  • Based on the gender role perspective, this study explored the differential effects of work-family conflict(WFC) on the life satisfaction and job attitudes(job satisfaction and involvement) between men and women by analysing the data collected from about 240 married government officers including both sex. The results showed that both men and women had the higher level of WIF(work interfering family) than that of FIW(family interfering work), and that FIW of women was higher than that of men. The results also showed that WFC(WIF and FIW) had differential effects on the life satisfaction and job attitudes between men and women. Specifically, WFC of women had significant negative effect on the life satisfaction and the job involvement, However WFC of men had no significant effects on them.

The Effects of Leader-Member Exchange and Transformational Leadership among High Performer and Low Performer of R&D Professionals (리더-멤버 교환(LMX)과 변혁적 리더십(TFL)이 직무태도에 미치는 영향: 고성과 vs. 저성과 R&D인력 비교)

  • The objective of this study is to identify the characteristics of high performer among R&D professionals and to examine the effects of LMX(Leader-Member Exchange) and TFL(Transformational Leadership) on job satisfaction or organizational commitment. The empirical result shows that; 1) when compared with the low performers of R&D professionals, the high performers have more proactive personality such as risk-taking propensity, self-efficacy, need for achievement, 2) the high performers have more innovative problem-solving style, 3) the impact of LMX and TFL on job satisfaction or organizational commitment is significant and positive, 4) the augmentative effect of TFL over LMX on job satisfaction or organizational commitment exists for low performer but does not exist for high performer. Based on the result, the theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

  • This study was analyzed to relate between business performance and leadership types for global corporations practically. Also, in this study for research, Have developed a research model to analyze comprehensively using the business performance and leadership theory. One of the important things are leader's characteristics or contingency factors at global corporations, but leadership is being re-evaluated through how it enable to perceive and to evaluate at the organization. Therefore, this study had been analyzed to relationship with the type of global readers between the employee's perception and business performance focusing on research model The research results had shown that job satisfaction, performance variables like sales amount, and productivity to be impact on the leadership type of global enterprises. Therefore, this study concluded that the efficiency and performance of the Company may increase when assigned a leadership professional to be able to consider the nature of the global enterprise. Results of the study, will be expected to be a useful guide for control of business performance at global corporation in the future.
