Characteristic Analysis of Low Consumption Power ISO Solenoid Valve (저소비 전력형 ISO 솔레노이드 밸브 특성 해석)

  • In this study, A special quality analysis and experiment for low power consumption type pneumatic ISO Solenoid valve was performed. And flow characteristics of the ISO Solenoid valve by stroke change was numerically investigated. As a result, it is shown that magnetic force(2.4N) is exerted enough to move poppet with 0.3mm stroke with 0.01 seconds of response time, and that there is no magnetic force emitted by yoke.

  • 고전압 가스 차단기에서는 긴 스트로크 동안 가스반발력을 극복하고 빠르게 차단할 수 있는 액추에이터가 필요하다 기존에는 공압식, 유압식, 스프링 액추에이터와 같은 기계적인 장치가 사용되었다. 그러나 기존 액추에이터에서는 소음, 에너지 손실, 고가적의 단점이 있어, 근래에 들어 PMA, 모터와 같은 전기적 장치도 사용되고 있다. 전기 액추에이터는 간단한 구조로 되어 있어 기계적 손실을 줄일 수 있고 소음이 적은 장점이 있다. 전자석 조작기의 연구 필요성에 따라 새로운 형태의 전자석 조작기 Electro Magnetic Force driving Actuator(EMFA)가 개발되어 고전압 가스 차단기에 적합하다고 분석되었다. EMFA의 동특성을 얻기 위한 과도상태 해석에서는 2차원 유한요소법을 이용하여 얻은 전자기적 해석을 회로, 운동방정식과 연계하여 시간차분법을 사용하여 해석하였다. 하지만 2차원과 3차원의 전자기 해석은 차이를 보인다는 것을 확인하였고 정확한 전자기 해석을 위해 3차원 동특성 해석을 수행하여 실험결과와 비교하였다.

Practical Application of the Active Vibration Control System to Ship Superstructure (선체 상부구조 진동의 능동제어시스템 실용화 연구)

  • A hydraulic type active control system has been developed for the purpose of vibration suppression of ship superstructrures. The active mass of the developed system weighs about three tons and is designed to have ${\pm}5mm$ stroke below 10Hz. Thus maximum control force of the system is about 60kN. Performance test of the developed system has been carried out on a 4,400TEU contrainer carrier built in Samsung Heavy Industry Co., LTD. Through the exciter tests, it has been confirmed that the vibration levels of the superstructure can be reduced to about 20% of the uncontrolled levels near resonant frequency.

  • Recently, the on-off solenoid valves have been focused on core technology in the fields of the production line of semi-conductor chips and the micro fluid chips for bio-medical applications. A key characteristics for on-off solenoid valve, operated by compressed air, are high speed response and great repeatability. Indeed, it is also important to keep the pressure on the cross-sectional area of the poppet to be constant regardless of the fluctuation of the pressure exerted on the ports. In this study, we have designed and analysed the high-speed and high flow rate on-off solenoid valve using the analogy of equivalent magnetic circuit and Finite Element Method (FEM) respectively. In case of poppet, flow field characteristics was analyzed by the variation of poppet and it was able to display flow field by changing the location of the poppet. Also, we verified possibility of the design through the static and dynamic pressure and the 3D simulation using distribution curve of the force by working the front poppet.

  • Piping systems are crucial facilities used in various industries, particularly in areas related to daily life and safety. Piping systems are fixed to the main structures of buildings and facilities but do not support external loads and serve as non-structural elements performing specific functions. Piping systems are affected by relative displacements owing to phase differences arising from different behaviors between two support points under seismic loads; this can cause damage owing to the displacement-dominant cyclic behavior. Fittings and joints in piping systems are representative elements that are vulnerable to seismic loads. To evaluate the seismic performance and limit states of fittings and joints in piping systems, a high-stroke actuator is required to simulate relative displacements. However, this is challenging because only few facilities can conduct these experiments. Therefore, element-level experiments are required to evaluate the seismic performance and limit states of piping systems connected by fittings and joints. This study proposed a method to evaluate the seismic performance of an elbow specimen that includes fittings and joints that are vulnerable to seismic loads in vertical piping systems. The elbow specimen was created by connecting straight pipes to both ends of a 90° pipe elbow using flexible groove joints. The seismic performance of the elbow specimen was evaluated using a cyclic loading protocol based on deformation angles. To determine the margin of the evaluated seismic performance, the limit states were assessed by applying cyclic loading with a constant amplitude.

Assessment of Plastic Deformation in Al6061 Alloy using Acoustic Nonlinearity of Laser-Generated Surface Wave (레이저 여기 표면파의 음향비선형성을 이용한 Al6061 합금의 소성변형 평가)

  • The objective of this study is to assess plastic deformation in aluminium alloy by acoustic nonlinearity of laser-generated surface waves. A line-arrayed laser beam made by high-power pulsed laser and mask slits is utilized to generate the narrowband surface wave and the frequency characteristics of laser-generated surface waves are controlled by varying the slit opening width and slit interval of mask slits. Various degrees of tensile deformation were induced by interrupting the tensile tests so as to obtain aluminum specimens with different degrees of plastic deformation. The experimental results show that the acoustic nonlinear parameter of a laser-generated surface wave increased with the level of tensile deformation and it has a good correlation with the results of micro-Vickers hardness test and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) test. Consequently, acoustic nonlinearity of laser-generated surface wave could be potential to characterize plastic deformation of aluminum alloy.

  • 농용트랙터의 운전자는 작업, 주행으로 인한 유해한 저주파 진동에 장시간 노출된다. 이에 따라 운전자에게 전달되는 노면 진동을 감소시켜주기 위한 전방차축 현가장치의 역할이 커지고 있다. 트랙터의 전방차축 현가장치는 주로 유압식으로 설계되어 있으며 이를 구성하는 유압요소 선정이 현가장치의 성능에 중요한 영향을 미친다. 하지만, 실제와 유사한 조건에서 트랙터 차체 무게만큼 큰 부하를 제공하여 유압회로의 성능을 실험하는 것은 비용과 시간 측면에서 비효율적이다. 본 연구에서는 이를 대체하기 위하여 개별 유압요소의 성능을 테스트 할 수 있는 현가장치 유압회로 요인 시험기를 설계제작 하였다. 이를 이용하여 개별 부품의 성능곡선을 센서를 이용 측정하였고 얻은 특성값을, 구성한 유압 시뮬레이션 모델에 반영하여 실제조건의 유압특성을 얻을 수 있는 유효한 시뮬레이션 모델 개발에 활용하였다. 또한, 실험실 환경에서 유압식 현가장치를 간소화 시킨 형태로 유압회로의 성능을 예비시험해 볼 수 있도록 다양한 센서를 장착 데이터를 취득할 수 있도록 하였다. 개발한 요인 시험기는 하부에 설치된 가진 실린더를 이용하여 상부에 설치된 현가장치 실린더의 스트로크 변위와 속도에 따른 힘을 측정할 수 있도록 구성하였다. 이를 위해 현가장치 실린더의 헤드부와 로드부에 각각 압력센서를 설치하였으며 헤드부, 로드부의 압력 차이와 로드셀을 이용해 측정한 가진 실린더의 힘의 관계를 확인하였다. 상부의 현가 실린더 장치는 복동 형태로 제작되어 헤드부, 로드부 양쪽 방향으로 유량이 흐를 수 있도록 설계되었다. 이를 이용해 헤드부와 로드부 사이에 어큐뮬레이터, 가변 오리피스, 릴리프 밸브 등으로 유압회로를 구성하였으며 어큐뮬레이터 용량에 따른 힘의 변화, 가변 오리피스의 개도량에 따라서 전달되는 힘의 크기 등을 측정하였다. 하부의 가진 실린더는 사인파, 삼각파, 계단 입력, DC 레벨 등의 신호를 발생시킬 수 있도록 제작되었다. 신호의 주파수는 0~4Hz, 범위에서 사용자가 조절할 수 있도록 설정되었으며 계단응답 성능 측정 시험을 평가한 결과 정상상태오차는 0.470mm~0.536mm, 입상시간은 0.194초~0.202초, 정착시간은 0.230초~0.421초로 나타났다.

Aerodynamic Force Measurements and PIV Study for the Twisting Angle of a Swift Wing Model (칼새 날개의 비틀림 각에 대한 공력측정 및 PIV 연구)

  • Aerodynamic force measurements and phase-locked PIV study were carried out to check the bio-mimetic MAV applicability of a swift flight. Two-rotational DOF robotic wing model and blowing-type wind tunnel were employed. The amplitude of twist angle were ${\pm}0$, ${\pm}5$, ${\pm}10$, and ${\pm}20$ deg. and stroke angles were manipulated by simple harmonic function with out-of-phase in regards to the stroke motion. It is acknowledged that the time-varying lift coefficients in accordance with the change of the twist angle did not result in any noticeable differences, just the small decrease and delay. However, the drag exhibited that the small change of the twist angle can produce large thrust. These findings imply why a swift uses small twist angle during flight. The PIV results displayed that the delay of aerodynamic forces is highly associated with the vortical structures around the wing. It is therefore indicated that a process of designing a swift-based Micro Air Vehicle should take the twist angle into consideration, as the essential parameter.
