  • This paper describes the development of a wireless communication controller of gripper contact signal for industrial robot. The wireless communication gripper controller is composed of a robot wireless communication controller and a gripper wireless transmitting/receiving controller. The robot wireless communication controller transmits the data of gripper sensors, and the gripper wireless communication controller receives the data. And the controller sends the data to the robot controller of industrial robot. As a result of the characteristics test of the wireless communication gripper controller, it is thought that the robot wireless communication controller A transmits and receives three gripper wireless transmitting/receiving controller A1, A2, A3 another. Thus, the developed wireless communication gripper controller can be used for transmitting/ receiving the data of gripper sensors for industrial robot.

A Study on the Apparatus for Image Transmission and Transmission Control using Cellular Phone Network (셀룰러폰 통신망을 이용한 영상전송 및 전송제어 장치에 관한 연구)

  • A remote image transmission apparatus combines robot technology and image transmission there is safe problem or place that a person can not go. Recently, control apparatus that use wire and RF between web server and robot for remote control are developed. But, there is problem that must install Internet line and communication distance. Transmission distance problem can solve when using the equipment of RF, but price of RF router is problem that is very high cost. In this paper, we developed remote control system using the cellular phone communication network that can control image transmission and image transmission apparatus to solve these problem. Developed system could solve defects of methods that use existent RF and internet. And could transmit the most suitable image and voice under limited condition include current communication network.

  • 현재 지능형 서비스로봇이 활성화되고 있으며 지능형 로봇 분야에서 청소로봇은 개인생활의 본질적인 운동성을 보조하며 인간과 공생의 형태를 지원하는 로봇으로 성장하고 있다. 청소로봇은 가정에서 다양한 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 가정환경과 적절한 상호작용은 필수적이다. 따라서 로봇이 외부의 서버와 협동을 통한 원격제어는 필수적이라 할 수 있다. 현재 지도 작성이 가능한 청소로봇은 바닥에 센서를 부착하거나 작업환경에 카메라 및 기타 많은 장치를 구축하므로 고가의 장비로 분류되어 일반적으로 활용지 못하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 청소로봇의 효율적인 제어를 위하여 작업환경에서 로봇의 궤적과 센서정보를 원격으로 서버에 전달하고 서버는 이러한 정보를 바탕으로 지도를 작성하고 최적의 작업을 수행할 수 있는 알고리즘을 연산하여 로봇에 전달할 수 있는 방법을 연구하였다. 이는 로봇이 지도 작성을 위한 연산 과정을 줄이므로 수행 시간을 단축하고 로봇에 주어지는 부하를 줄일 수 있다. 또한 원격으로 제어를 수행하므로 무선통신이 가능한 각종 디바이스와 상호 연동할 수 있는 체계를 만들어 유비쿼터스 환경을 구축할 수 있는 계기를 만들므로 청소로봇의 성능이 향상될 수 있음을 보인다. 본 연구에서는 청소로봇을 제작하고 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통하여 전체적으로 주어진 작업을 효율적으로 수행할 수 있음을 보여준다.

  • An intelligent robot with RSSI based indoor location estimation function was designed and implemented. A wireless sensor node was attached to the robot to received the location data from the indoor location estimation function. Spartan III was used as the main control device in the mobile robot. The current location data collected from the indoor location estimation system was transferred to the mobile robot and server through Zigbee/IEEE 802.15.4 wireless communication of the sensor node. Once the location data is received, the sensor node senses the direction of the robot head and directs the robot to move to its destination. Indoor location estimation intelligent robot is able to move efficiently and actively to the user appointed location by implementing the proposed obstacles avoidance algorithm. This system is able to monitor real-time environmental data and location of the robot using PC program. Indoor location estimation intelligent robot also can be controlled by executing the instructions sent from the PC program.

  • Since the advent of Apple's iPhone, the smartphone industry has been producing new technologies and concepts at an accelerated pace. The speed of progress in this sector is exponentially increasing in accordance with Moore's Law, and smartphones are rapidly changing various aspects of human life. Especially, object control technologies using smartphones are being utilized in various sectors, including robots, home automation, and smart objects. However, the current smartphone object control technology is limited in terms of multicontrol. This study proposes the combined usage of the Bluetooth and Zigbee Modules for multiple object control using smartphones, and presents the necessary application design properties and the methodology for Zigbee communication. The study is an attempt at a territorial expansion of design, as a proposal of new methods for utilizing smartphones in the age of smart objects.

  • In this paper, design and implementation of multi-modular robots of similar structure to the arthropods for rock path driving. Each module corresponds to an arthropod joint, which has an independent power supply and control equipment including drive and short-range Zigbee wireless communication that were implemented. On various directions and paths each module has the same driving direction and each module is controlled to operate or not by wireless communication. Depending on path condition, each module calculate the speed and torque and depending on the slope of a rough path, the number of active modules can be changed for the efficient driving on a variety of roads conditions. Experimental driving through rough road model, variable multi-module robot is implemented.

  • In the ubiquitous environment, the real-time remote control and monitoring technology for intelligent robot creates service as a sharable and independent of time-location for various contents to get from a sensor or camera of the robot. In this paper, We propose the real-time monitor and control mechanism for intelligent robot called URC(Ubiquitous Robotic Companion). URC are intelligent robots designed as to interact with external digital device that can communicate through wire or wireless by integration the network and information technology into traditional robot. It has been carried out by implementing this technology into the target robot called ISSAC4 and proving its practical worth. We designed feasibly to control on remote site by web-browser. It guarantees a continuity of real-time image transferring by Client-Pull method.

  • In this paper, We are proposed the real-time monitor and control mechanism for intelligent robot called URC(Ubiquitous Robotic Companion). URC are intelligent robots designed as to interact with external digital device that can communicate through wire or wireless by integration the network and information technology into traditional robot. In this paper, we implemented the result of this study into the target robot called ISSAC4 and proved its practical worth. We designed it as be able to control on remote by such web browser as anywhere and anytime that show a status information for several controllers, devices, actuators and sensors of robot and guarantee a continuity of real-time image transferring by Client-Pull method and moving control of robot.
