Development of Hardware Platform and Embedded Software for Designing Automotive FMCW Radar System (차량용 FMCW 레이더 시스템 설계용 하드웨어 플랫폼 및 임베디드 소프트웨어 개발)

  • In this paper, we design the hardware platform and implement the embedded software based on the FPGA and the DSP for the automotive 77GHz FMCW radar system. This embedded software is built into the DSP as the multi-tasking architecture to support the basic target detection algorithm and the Ethernet link. The designed GUI(Graphic User Interface) provides ability to adjust parameters associated with the radar performance, to monitor signal processing results, and to download the raw received signal. The designed platform can be used to develop the optimal detection algorithms for the various applications.

  • 전 세계적으로 도시화가 가속화됨에 따라 도시 내 차량의 수가 지속해서 증가하고 있지만 주차 공간의 부족으로 인해 도심 내 불법주차 문제가 심각해지고 있다. 또한 주차된 차량의 운전자 정보가 노출된 환경으로 인해 개인 정보 유출이 중요한 사회적 문제가 되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 불법주차 해소와 운전자 개인정보 보호를 동시에 해결하기 위한 자율주행 로봇 시스템을 제안한다. 제안한 방법에서는 정상 주차를 식별하기 방안으로 마커 인식을 적용하였고 ROS 기반 Stella N1을 사용하여 자율주행할 수 있는 로봇을 제작하였다. 또한 전화번호 없이 운전자와 연락을 취할 수 있는 메시지전달 앱을 개발하였다.

  • In wartime conditionsmilitary combat vehicles are required to be driven on rough roads that have significant obstacles. A wheel type dog-horse robot with a rotary suspension system was applied to overcome the obstacles. To achieve real-time analysis, a simplified model was proposed by using velocity transformations. Through comparison with the multi-body dynamics model, the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed modeling was proven.

  • For the successful operation of unmanned ground vehicles(UGVs), optimal path planning should be considered with trafficability analysis, threat analysis, and so on. From among these, trafficability analysis is immensely important for safeness of UGVs especially in the case of driving the off-road such as unpaved road, grassland, and open fields. Geographical information has a pivotal role in extracting data and measuring cost for specified regions of interest. In this paper, we review possibilities to apply Land Cover Map(LCM) as a new, fundamental source and propose a new generation method of trafficability analysis map for optimal path planning of UGV. The simulation results show that the proposed method significantly improve the previous method by applying LCM either alone or in combination with the other GIS.

  • 가정용 생활 쓰레기 수거 작업은 야간이나 이른 새벽에 이루어지고 있어 환경미화원의 안전사고와 수거 차량으로 인한 소음 문제가 빈번하게 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 딥러닝 기반의 영상 인식을 활용하여 종량제 봉투를 인식하고 수거가 가능한 생활 쓰레기 수거 로봇의 설계를 제시한다. 제시하는 생활 쓰레기 수거 로봇은 지정 구역을 자율주행하며 로봇에 장착된 카메라를 이용해 학습된 모델을 기반으로 가정용 쓰레기 종량제 봉투를 검출한다. 이를 통해 처리 대상으로 지정된 종량제 봉투와 로봇 팔 사이의 거리를 카메라를 활용하여 얻은 깊이 정보와 2차원 좌표를 토대로 목표 위치를 예측해 로봇 팔의 관절을 제어하여 봉투를 수거한다. 해당 로봇은 생활 쓰레기 수거 작업 과정에서 환경미화원을 보조하여 미화원의 안전 확보와 소음 저감을 위한 기기로 활용될 수 있다.

  • The most important requirement for the automotive radars is the simultaneous target range and velocity measurement under environment of multi-target, clutters, multi-path, and so on. If the many vehicles with 77GHz FMCW(Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) radar system are in the near area we should consider the interference signals occurred by other radar systems because these signals reduce exact detection of range and velocity. In this paper, we propose the interference cancellation method, which each vehicle radar transmits chirp trains with the different frequency sweep shapes. The proposed method is applied into the various applications such as an intelligent vehicle, Robot, and UGV(Unmanned Ground Vehicle).

  • This paper describes the operating software of a motion system developed for a driving simulator, consisting of a six degree of freedom Stewart platform driven hydraulically. The drive logic, consisting of an washout algorithm, inverse kinematic analysis, and a control algorithm, has been developed and applied for creating high fidelity motion cues. The basic environment of the operating software is based on LabVIEW 4.0 and DLL modules compiled by Fortran.

  • In this paper, we propose a new longitudinal controller of automated vehicles. The controller is designed based on a sliding control method, which is known to be robust to disturbances and modelling errors. Contrary to currently available sliding controller, a switching controller gain method is suggested. It is shown throughout simulations that the proposed controller reduces the amount of overshoot, which may derive smoother velocity tracking in a platoon.

  • In this paper, a dynamic control scheme is proposed which not only compensates for the lateral dynamics and longitudinal dynamics but also deal with the yaw motion dynamics. Using the dynamic control technique, adaptive and learning algorithm together, the proposed controller is not only robust to disturbance and parameter uncertainties but also can learn the inverse dynamics model in steady state. Based on the proposed dynamic control scheme, a dynamic vehicle simulator is contructed to design and test various control techniques for 4-wheel steering vehicles.
