Establishment of National Standard System for 40 kA Rogowski Coil (40 kA급 로고스키 코일 국가 표준시스템 구축)

  • 전력량의 증가로 인한 대전류 측정의 요구와 전력 시스템의 디지털화에 부응하여 대전류 국가 표준 시스템의 측정 범위의 확장 및 전자식 전류변성기의 평가를 위해 구축된 40 kA급 전류변성기 비교 측정 시스템과 전자식 변성기 평가 시스템을 소개하였다. 또한 전자시변성기 평가시스템의 핵심 장비인 전압-전류 변환기에 대한 비오차 및 위상오차를 평가하였고, $200A{\sim}40kA$ 까지의 로고스키 코일을 평가하였다. 마지막으로 로고스키 코일 평가시의 불화도 요인으로 1차 코일의 위치, 대전류 발생 변압기와의 거리에 따른 측정 불확도를 평가하였다.

  • 전류에 의한 자속변화를 검출하는 로고스키코일은 자성체를 코어로 이용하는 종전의 변류기 (Current Transformer) 와는 달리 공심이거나 비자성재료를 사용하기 때문에 자기적으로 포화되지 않으므로 일반적으로 디지털 적산 전력량계의 전류센서로 활용되고 있다. 본 연구는 저온소성 다층 세라믹 기판상에 로고스키코일을 적용한 전자식 전력량계의 정밀 전류측정용 센서 개발에 관한 것이며. 3차원 전자기장 해석 프로그램인 MWS를 하여 기판의 소재와 코일의 패턴의 크기 등을 달리하여 그 특성을 알아보고 실제 구현된 센서의 측정된 값과 비교해 보았다.

  • Generally speaking, Rogowskii coil for magnetic flux change detection according to electric current is used for digital addition watt-hour meter, because it is not saturated at electromagnetic that not Current Transformer working by magnetic material but non-magnetic material. In this paper, we described sensitive quality an electric current coil sensor followed by the principal of Rogowskii coil on the low dielectric loss LTCC, change different line width, gap, line length at sensing parts and extinction parts.

  • When superconductors are combined with normal conductor as a parallel electric circuit, imbalance of the applied current is happened. For the accurate parameters of the circuit, it is needed to measure the current of the circuit under LN2 condition. In this case, the measurement using Rogowski coil, which is not that affected by changing temperature, can be a method. In this study, using 2 Rogowski coil, the measurement of current was conducted under the condition that is room and LN2 temperature respectively.

  • Purpose: The radial speed of plasma current sheath was measured at the plasma focus apparatus. Methods: The measurement was used to time-resolved spectroscopic method and Rogowski coils. Results: Radial current sheath speed was measured with $10^5$ cm/s at Helium and Argon pressure between 5 to 100 torr and discharging voltage of 15 kV. When the gas pressure was increased, the current sheath speeds were decreased. Conclusions: At the optimum condition of plasma focus apparatus, the radial speed is guessed $10^7$ cm/s as a results of the measurement of current sheath speed.

Measurement of Transient Current by using the Rogowski Coil (로고우스키코일을 이용한 과도전류의 측정)

  • This paper presents the operation principle and design rule of the Rogowski coil which can measure the transient current and describes the calibration and application experimental results for performance evaluation. It is obtained that the response curves of the Robowski coil with the turns of 300 and the passive integrator to sinusoidal input give a good linearity up to the frequency of 500 [kHz] and the current measurement system gaving the Rogowski coil is the frequency bandwidth of 40 [Hz]~700 [kHz]. As an application experiment for the fabricated modeling power transmission line, the impulse current, which limitates the direct lightning return stroke to overhead ground wire, is measured by the Rogowski coil and its fast Fourier transformation is carried out. The equivalent circuit of the Rogowski coil considering the stray capacitances is proposed, and the theoretical analysis is in good agreement with the measurement results. Also, it is found that for high frequency domain the stray capacitance such as a distributed capacitance to the shield and the capacitance between windings of coil should be considered in designing the Rogowski coils since the resonance originates from the stray capacitance and the self-inductance of the Rogowski coil.

  • In this study, the design, the fabrication and the evaluation of Rogowski coil are presented for the measurement of the high current pulse (the order of 100kA, $\sim$100Hz, 0.1msec$\sim$a few msec). And the fabricated Rogowski coil is tested and compared with the pre-proved rogowski coil.

  • Rogowski coil is a kind of sensor for high amplitude and very short period current and suitable for the measurement of PD pulse. This paper have simulated the relations between PD signals and Rogowski coil which has its own equivalent circuit and investigated signals of Rogowski coil induced by PD pulse current. and compared with the PD signal obtained from conventional PD measuring system in accordance with IEC60270.

  • This paper describes an nstrument for the detection and geometric location of partial discharge(PD) sources in transformers. This instrument measures electric current pulses and ultrasonic pulses simultaneously, counts the number of electrical pulse and determines the geometric location of PD in transformers. It was found that there is a relationship between partial discharge magnitude and pulse repetition rate when the applied test voltage and oil temperature were varied. Through the laboratory test using model transformer, it was clarified that this detector could be used, satisfactory for detecting and locating of PD in the transformer.

  • In the distribution networks, it is required to develop compact and smart current and voltage sensors for compact and digital switchgears. The sensor developed newly adopt the priciple of rogowski coil for current sensing and resistive voltage divider for voltage sensing. The sensing characteristics and reliabilities were improved compared to conventional ones. In the near future, these voltage and current sensing apparatus will be widely used with electronic protection units for the distribution switchgear.
